BREAKING: WWE officially re-signs former Divas Champion; WrestleMania return expected after 4 years

WrestleMania 42 has faced a lot of backlash from WWE fans because of the lack of hype surrounding the biggest event of the year, but Triple H could have some massive changes up his sleeve.

Ahead of the show, it’s been revealed by PWInsider as part of their recent report that Paige has re-signed with WWE and is expected to return at WrestleMania as part of the Women’s fatal four-way match for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

The match will also include Lash Legend and Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss and Lyra Valkyria and Bayley, with Brie Bella seemingly set to align with Paige.

AJ Lee has been pushing for the company to bring Paige back since her return last year, since the two women were once one of the biggest forces in the women’s division. It’s unclear how the dynamic will work with Paige returning, since she was once seen as Nikki Bella’s biggest enemy.

The two women have not been on the same side for many years, but there could be a story to make her return make sense.

Nikki Bella will be replaced by Paige at WWE WrestleMania 42

Paige has not been seen in WWE since 2022, but it seems that this is the perfect time for her to make her return now that Nikki Bella is out of WrestleMania.

Recent reports suggest she has been seen with a walking boot at WWE World, which could be why she hasn’t yet been cleared to compete as part of WrestleMania.

Paige has been part of the run-throughs for the match this week, which could have been as a stand-in, or it could be so that she can finally make her return and show fans that she’s able to finally bounce back from what was considered to be a career-ending neck injury almost a decade ago.

Paige has been through so much in her career over the past few years and was even able to have a stint in AEW, where she won the AEW Women’s World championship at Wembley in front of her family.

She left AEW back in March 2025 and has been a free agent, pushing to make her return over the past year.
