A male pedestrian has died after a driver struck him in downtown Brantford, Ont., police say.

The collision happened around midnight near Market and Darling streets, Brantford Police Service said in a news release the morning of April 17.

“The pedestrian was transported to hospital and succumbed to his injuries,” police said.

The driver stayed on scene and “is co-operating with police.”
