Actor John Nolan, who appeared in films Batman Begins and Dunkirk, has died aged 87.

The British star reportedly died today.

Maintaining his family connections throughout his career, he also starred in nephew Jonathan Nolan’s series Person of Interest, playing mysterious figure John Greer. He was the show’s main villain from seasons three to five.

Nolan’s final appearance came in 2024 during an episode of American sci-fi series Dune: Prophecy. He played the Speaker of the High Council.

The London-born theatre veteran is survived by his wife, Kim Hartman, an actress known for ‘Allo ‘Allo!, whom he married in 1975. They had a son and a daughter.

Alex Duong, a fixture of the Los Angeles comedy circuit and a familiar face across television, has died at 42 following a battle with a rare and aggressive cancer.

He passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica after being hospitalized with septic shock, according to close family friend Hilarie Steele.

In a statement shared with supporters, Steele wrote: ‘With the heaviest hearts, we share that our dear Alex passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by love and dear friends.

‘He was comfortable and thankfully out of pain. [His wife] Christina and [daughter] Everest were able to see him last night, and he was alert enough to say goodbye to his little girl, whom he has treasured every moment since the day she was born.

‘We are devastated, but so grateful for the support, prayers, and generosity you have all shown during this unimaginable time. Your continued support now means everything as Christina and Everest navigate the days ahead and to arrange a beautiful celebration of his life.’

Duong was previously diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer that formed a malignant mass that blocked blood flow to his optic nerve, ultimately costing him vision in his left eye.

NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 27: USA Today Danny and Baezs attempts to find the culprit who assaulted a shop owner are hindered by the close-knit communitys refusal to cooperate with the investigation. Even after surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, the disease progressed aggressively.

Before his diagnosis, he had been preparing for an ambitious year: a planned tour spanning 41 states, with several dates alongside Ronny Chieng.

Duong is also known for roles on prominent TV shows, including Blue Bloods, Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, and Pretty Little Liars, and writing work on Netflix’s Historical Roasts.

Eerie warning signs JFK Jr. ignored before fatal plane crash: From pilot concerns to foot injury

Several witnesses, pilots and medical experts uncovered the eerie warning signs that were ignored before John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife, Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, tragically perished in a deadly plane crash.

On the hazy evening of July 16, 1999, JFK Jr. — the son of late President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis — was piloting a small aircraft.

John was planning on flying the red and white Piper Saratoga from Essex Airport in Caldwell, New Jersey, to Martha’s Vineyard (to drop off Lauren), and then to Hyannis Port with Carolyn for his cousin Rory Kennedy’s wedding. But the couple never made it.

A report by the National Transportation Safety Board uncovered all the warning signs John F. Kennedy Jr. (seen here at the Hyannis airport in 1998) ignored before his deadly plane crash. Paul Adao/INFphoto.com

Investigators believe John experienced spatial disorientation — the mistaken perception of one’s position and motion relative to the earth — causing the aircraft to plummet into the ocean, killing everyone aboard.

Page Six obtained the March 2000 factual report conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board, which examines the bone-chilling moments leading up to the deadly crash that left the country in collective grief.

Landing help

Just weeks before his fatal crash, John relied on his flight instructor to assist him with landing an airplane he was flying due to an ankle fracture he had sustained one month prior.

According to a summary of an interview with one of John’s flight instructors, he was “wearing a non-plaster cast on his leg” which required the instructor “to taxi the airplane, and assist with the landing.”

The unnamed instructor also told investigators that John, referred to as the “accident pilot” in the report, was “not ready for an instrument evaluation as of July 1, 1999” and “would need additional training and instruction before passing the evaluation.”

This instructor did note, however, that John seemed “competent” with the autopilot.

Last lunch fears

Richard Blow, a senior editor at John’s George Magazine, had lunch with his boss on the day of the deadly accident, according to the NTSB report.

“The witness had lunch with the pilot the day of the accident, and he stated the pilot was in good [spirits],” a memorandum included in the report states.

John (seen here with Carolyn in 1998) was allegedly “frustrated” about his ankle injury and “not being able to fly” that day, the witness claimed in the report. Getty Images

“During the lunch, the witness expressed concern to the pilot about his injury and flying,” the report continues. “The pilot responded [saying that] he was looking forward to the flight.”

Blow told investigators that John “was frustrated about injuring his ankle” and “not being able to fly.”

The journalist concluded that John was “a seriously devoted student of flying” and “worked hard at developing his flying skills.”

Flying solo

John refused to fly with a flight instructor on the day of the accident, according to a memorandum.

Robert Merena, one of John’s instructors, stated that he offered to fly with John on that tragic day.

“The instructor stated that he talked to the pilot on the day of the accident, and offered to fly with him on the accident flight,” the memorandum states.

John told the flight instructor that he “wanted to do it alone,” Merena claimed.

“In addition, the instructor restated that he was not aware of the pilot ever flying the accident airplane without an instructor onboard,” the memo states.

Mixed reviews

John had worked with a number of flight instructors over the years — with each teacher offering different opinions about his skill set, according to the documents.

One instructor described John’s flight abilities as “average, not a standout.” The same instructor, who believed John “stopped his instrument training” because of his injury, “showed improvement after each flight” and “seemed well attuned with his abilities.”

John’s primary instructor felt his basic instrument flying skills and simulator work were “excellent.” However, he noted that “when given multiple tasks while flying,” John had “trouble managing those tasks.”

A third instructor described John’s skills as “average,” while a fourth said he had “excellent” situational awareness and general knowledge of aviation and flying.

Weather worries

There was very little visibility on the evening John departed in the accident plane, according to the report.

Per a pilot who was planning a flight from Caldwell to Martha’s Vineyard on the night of the accident, around the time John’s flight took off, it was “extremely hazy.”

The pilot shared that he canceled his flight due to “the current weather conditions at COW, the fact that I could not get my friends to come with me, and the fact I would not have to spend money on a hotel room in Martha’s Vineyard.”

When asked about that evening’s weather conditions, Merena told investigators he “would not feel comfortable with the accident pilot conducting night VFR on a similar route, and in similar weather conditions as during the accident.”

Using crutches

Medical records show that John fractured his ankle in a hang gliding accident on June 1, 1999. The next day, he underwent surgery for the injury.

On the day of the accident, a witness recalled seeing John walking on crutches. He also saw his sister-in-law “retrieve a walking cane from a white convertible” before returning to the airplane.

There were also concerns over John’s ankle injury (seen here on June 10, 1999). Getty Images
John’s physical therapist wasn’t sure if his gait was due to the limitation in motion or mild pain, according to the report. Shutterstock

John’s physical therapist noted that he couldn’t determine whether the Kennedy scion’s gait was “due to this ‘slight’ limitation of motion or due to mild pain.”

However, John’s orthopedic surgeon weighed in, saying he believes the pilot would have been able to “apply the same pressure to his left foot that is required of the right foot during emergency braking of an automobile.”

The doctor confirmed that John wasn’t prescribed any medication for his injury.

There has been renewed interest in JFK Jr. and his wife due to Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon portraying them in Ryan Murphy’s “Love Story” series, streaming now on Hulu.

Chuck Norris fact: the late star’s memes were undefeated

Chuck Norris was more than a legendary martial artist and actor — he was also an internet icon.

The “Walker, Texas Ranger” star, who died suddenly on Thursday at age 86 following a medical emergency, was the subject of hilarious internet memes that highlighted his tough guy, no-nonsense persona.

The memes, which began circulating on the internet in 2005, feature wildly hyperbolic statements about Norris.

“Chuck Norris can pass a vision test with his eyes closed,” is just one of the many viral memes.

The jokes turned into such an internet phenomenon that they became known as “Chuck Norris facts” — which even has its own Wikipedia page.

Norris responded to the memes multiple times over the years, choosing to embrace the internet’s fascination with him, rather than be offended.

“I get asked a lot if I like the “Chuck Norris Facts” that circulate. The answer is yes,” Norris wrote in a 2023 Facebook post.

“My wife Gena and I really enjoy them,” he quipped.

Norris, seen above at “The Expendables 2” premiere in 2012, was also known for being an internet icon. FilmMagic

There was also a nod to the facts in the 2012 movie “The Expendables 2,” which features a scene where Sylvester Stallone and Norris’ characters make references to the joke, “Chuck Norris was once bitten by a king cobra. After five days of agonizing pain, the cobra died.”

Keep reading for the best Chuck Norris memes in the wake of his death.

“Chuck Norris doesn’t sleep, he waits”

There’s thousands of memes about Chuck Norris out there on the internet.

One of the most iconic Chuck Norris memes exaggerates Norris’ strength and toughness. It also helps that his muscles are popping out.

“Chuck Norris can win a game of Connect Four in only three movies “

The viral memes started in 2005 and made Norris an internet icon.

The Chuck Norris Connect four meme emphasizes his ability to do the unthinkable. The man could make the impossible, possible.

“Only two things will survive doomsday — cockroaches and Chuck Norris. The roaches, however, will not survive Chuck Norris”

The memes would exaggerate Norris’ tough guy persona.

Norris shirtless, standing in front of a volcano, is another one of his most infamous memes. He can survive anything — even a doomsday scenario.

“When I slice onions, onions cry”

The memes always featured wildly hyperbolic statements about Norris.

Real men cry — but not Chuck Norris. Not even when he’s slicing onions.

“When the Hulk gets really angry, he turns into Chuck Norris”

This meme poked fun at the Hulk turning into Norris.

Is Chuck Norris the real Bruce Banner? The Hulk meme pokes fun at Norris transforming into the green Marvel superhero.

“Chuck Norris kicked the world once. It hasn’t stopped spinning”

Norris would be shirtless sometimes in the memes.

The meme of a ripped Chuck Norris holding weights speaks for itself. The world will never stop spinning because of him.

“Chuck Norris’ blood type is A-K47”

He reacted to the viral memes in a Facebook post in 2023.

The Chuck Norris blood type meme is one of the best. That man loved his guns in his film.

“Guns carry him for protection”

“I get asked a lot if I like the “Chuck Norris Facts” that circulate. The answer is yes,” he said at the time.

The Chuck Norris guns memes were always hits on the internet. Never mess with Chuck.

“When Chuck Norris watches Dora, she doesn’t ask any questions”

“My wife Gena and I really enjoy them,” Norris added.

The Chuck Norris Dora meme exaggerates his self-authority. It implies Dora — and her map — are too scared to ask him to participate in her iconic quests.

“There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live”

In the 2023 post, Norris also listed his and his wife’s ten favorite Chuck Norris facts that made the couple laugh.

The theory of evolution meme plays up Norris’ individual prowess. It jokes that he outlived a long list of creatures.

“Yo Chuck, Ima let you finish, but… you know what, you go right ahead and finish”

Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs became its own Chuck Norris meme.

One meme pokes fun at when Kanye West infamously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs. In this instance, West doesn’t dare do the same to Norris.

“Death once had a near-Chuck Norris experience”

Some of the memes played up Norris often having guns in his movies.

Instead of the normal saying that someone had a near-death experience, this meme flipped the phrase around to joke about Norris being invincible.

“If you have 5 dollars and Chuck Norris has 5 dollars, Chuck Norris now has 10 dollars”

Norris gave a nod to the memes in the 2012 film “The Expendables 2.”

The Chuck Norris money fact jokes that the actor always got what he wanted from others.

“Chuck Norris can never fill out an online form. Because he will never submit”

The movie featured a scene that references the joke, “Chuck Norris was once bitten by a king cobra. After five days of agonizing pain, the cobra died.”

Norris would never “submit” to others in life. The infamous snapshot of him in his blue sleeveless shirt got more exposure thanks to this meme.

“When Chuck Norris left for college he told his father, You’re the man of the house now.”

The Chuch Norris memes have been going strong for over 20 years.

This meme poked fun at Norris always calling the shots, even over his own father at his house.

“Played rock paper scissors in front of a mirror and won”

This meme jokes that Norris won rock paper scissors in front of a mirror.

Norris could do anything, including win a game of rock paper scissors with the mirror.

“Chuck Norris is the reason Waldo is hiding”

Norris sent Waldo into hiding, according to this meme.

This meme, again using Norris in the sleeveless shirt, poked fun at “Where’s Waldo?” Apparently, Norris sent the red-and-white striped shirt character into hiding.

“I use a stunt double for crying scenes”

Norris used a stunt double for his crying scenes, this meme joked.

As this meme indicates, Norris didn’t like shooting crying scenes himself, so his stunt doubles came to his rescue.

Chuck Norris once fought Batman for a bet. The loser got nightshift”

This meme was about a fight between Norris and Batman.

The Chuck Norris vs. Batman meme is one of the best. Of course, it was a losing battle for Batman from the beginning.

“Chuck Norris has a grizzly bear carpet in his room. It’s not dead, it’s just afraid to move”

The Chuck Norris memes are bound to live on after his death.

This meme jokes that Norris had a grizzly bear hiding in his room, acting as a carpet, because of the big bad actor.

Deadliest Catch star Todd Meadows’ mum begs show not to air son’s death footage

Deadliest Catch ‘newest member’ Todd Meadows has died aged 25 (Picture: GoFundMe)

Todd Meadows mum has begged Deadliest Catch producers not to air her son’s death after he ‘fell overboard’ while filming.

He was only 25 and had been crabbing in Alaska on board the Aleutian Lady when the shocking accident took the newest crew member’s life.

The boat’s captain, Rick Shelford, confirmed the news on Monday, calling it the ‘most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady’.

Cameras were rolling when Meadows fell into the icy cold waters of the Bering Sea, with his body reportedly recovered 10 minutes later and attempts to resuscitate him failed.

His mum, Angela, has now pleaded that the events of February 25, 2026, are not aired for the public to watch in the new season.

She told TMZ: ‘We don’t want to see any footage of the accident and do not want Discovery to air any of that footage or make money off of our son’s death.’

He was crabbing out in Alaskan waters at the time (Picture: Captain Rick Shelford / Facebook)

Instead, they’ve asked that footage of him crabbing and doing what he loved is shown, adding: ‘We hope they only air good things of Todd on that boat.’

The family are still waiting for a definitive answer about the circumstances surrounding Meadows’ death.

They have, however, been assured that he did not suffer in his final moments.

She said: ‘We don’t want to put the blame on anyone, but someone has to take responsibility. We will have justice for Todd.’

Meadows’ death was announced by Captain Rick Shelford on Monday, writing on Facebook the crew had ‘lost our brother’.

He continued: ‘Todd was the newest member of our crew, he quickly became family. His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone’s respect right away.

‘His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always.’

The United States Coast Guard Arctic District has since shared a statement with People, detailing the shock incident while filming what is thought to be the long-running show’s 22nd season.

The statement noted that theCoast Guard received notification from the Aleutian Lady that ‘a crew member by the name of Todd Meadows fell overboard’.

‘He was recovered unresponsive by the crew approximately ten minutes later. First aid and attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful, and the crew transported the deceased to Dutch Harbor,’ the statement continued.

The Coast Guard also shared that officials are ‘currently investigating this situation’.

Deadliest Catch first aired in 2005 on the Discovery Channel, giving insight into the incredibly harsh conditions that fishermen in the North Atlantic face.

In his tribute, Captain Shelford added: ‘He worked hard, loved deeply, and brought joy to those around him. Right now, our hearts are broken in a way that words can’t fully express.

‘Todd will forever be part of this boat, this crew, and this brotherhood. Though we lost him far too soon, his legacy will live on through his children and in every memory we carry of him. Rest easy brother, till we meet again.’

They have been inundated with support, having originally asked for $16,000 (£11.9k) but have now raised over $45,600 (£34k), with the new target at $55,000 (£41k).

Meadows isn’t the only Deadliest Catch loss in recent years as in June 2024, Nick Mavar died suddenly, aged 59.

He had been the longest-running cast member, appearing from 2005 until 2021, when he had to step back due to an appendix-related health scare.

In 2020, deck boss Nick McGlashan died aged 33 and two years before that, Captain Blake Painter was found dead in his home at just 38.

Metro contacted Warner Bros. Discovery for further comment.

Catherine O’Hara was posthumously awarded an Actor Award on Sunday for her performance in The Studio.

The Schitt’s Creek star died in January at the age of 71 following a brief illness, having made her final public appearance at the 2025 Emmy Awards in September.

The star and creator of The Studio Seth Rogen went on stage to accept the best actress in a comedy award on O’Hara’s behalf, in front of a visibly emotional Hollywood crowd.

On the Apple TV show, O’Hara played studio exec turned producer powerhouse Patty Leigh, in a role that strove for film quality before commercial success, in the face of Rogen’s character Matt Remick’s swerve towards the former.

Rogen had prepared a speech to accept O’Hara’s posthumous award and was audibly moved as he told the audience: ‘I was asked to assume the very sad honour of accepting this award on O’Hara’s behalf.’

The 43-year-old said he knew O’Hara would have been ‘honoured’ to have been in the same category as stars Jenna Ortega, Jean Smart, Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Wiig at the Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

‘She was such big fans of all of yours,’ he said, before sharing his recent reflections on working with O’Hara on The Studio.

‘Something I’ve just been marvelling at over the last few weeks was really her ability to be generous and kind and gracious while never ever minimising her own talents, and her own ability to contribute to the work that we were doing,’ he said.

The camera moved to O’Hara’s fellow nominee and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star Ortega at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in LA, as she wiped away tears.

‘She knew she could destroy and she wanted to destroy every day on set,’ Rogen continued.

‘I haven’t said this to the other actors, because I haven’t wanted them to get ideas, but pretty much every evening before she had a shooting day on our show, she would email me and [co-creator Evan Goldberg] an email that always was pretty similar, that said, “Hello, I hope you’ll consider the following”, and then there would be a completely rewritten version of the scene that she was in.’

Saturday Night Live alum Wiig laughed in the gathered crowd as Rogen went on to say that O’Hara’s notes would make a scene better ‘100 percent of the time’.

He continued: ‘She really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things does not have to come at the expense of the other in any way, shape or form.

‘If you have people in your lives who don’t know her work – if you have kids in your lives or people that are out of touch or stupid or something – just show them O’Hara dancing to Harry Belafonte in Beetlejuice.

‘Show them O’Hara hurting her knee in Best in Show and doing that amazing thing where she hobbles around. And tell the people as they’re laughing that that’s Catherine O’Hara, and we’re lucky that we got to live in a world where she so genuinely got to share her talents with us.’

The Studio is available to stream on Apple TV.

Rob Reiner, Catherine O’Hara, Diane Keaton and more honored during SAG Actor Awards 2026 In Memoriam

Gone but never forgotten.

Rob Reiner, Catherine O’Hara and Diane Keaton were some of the many celebrities included in Sunday’s SAG Actor Awards 2026 In Memoriam segment.

The tribute kicked off with a photo of “Dawson’s Creek” star James Van Der Beek — who died on Feb. 11 at the age of 48 following a battle with cancer — appearing on the big screen.

A clip also played of “Grey’s Anatomy” star Eric Dane saying, “Don’t waste one single minute.” Dane tragically passed away on Feb. 19 at 53, less than a year after announcing he was diagnosed with ALS.

As for O’Hara, she was remembered with a series of clips from her long career, which included projects like “Home Alone” and “Schitt’s Creek.”

“When it all comes together, and you make a good movie, it’s good forever,” she said in a clip from “The Studio,” which brought O’Hara the first-ever SAG-AFTRA posthumous award for outstanding female actress in a comedy series earlier in the night.

O’Hara died from a pulmonary embolism in Los Angeles on Jan. 30. She was 71.

Other big names honored Sunday night included Reiner, Keaton, Gene Hackman, Val Kilmer and Robert Redford.

Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were murdered and found dead at their Brentwood home on Dec. 14. The “When Harry Met Sally” director was 78, and his wife was 70.

Keaton died from pneumonia on Oct. 11. The beloved “Annie Hall” star was 79.

Additional notable celebrities remembered during the SAG Actor Awards 2026 included Michelle Trachtenberg, Peter Greene, Graham Greene, Robert Carradine, Brigitte Bardot, James Ransone, Michael Madsen, Loni Anderson, George Wendt, Jonathan Joss, Loretta Swit, Diane Ladd, Julian McMahon and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

Sarah Paulson introduced the emotional In Memoriam segment with a touching speech before the montage began.

“Actors make up a family of souls bonded by a challenging pursuit, by valuing our creative spirit and often brought close by our mutual support and affection,” she began.

“I am proud to be in the family of actors in this room and all over the world,” the actress added. “It is a tremendous privilege to work and to share such rich times with so many gifted people.”

Paulson went on to describe the celebrities that Hollywood has lost over the past year as “true giants” who were “teachers,” “co-workers,” “inspirations” and “friends.”

“All of us have been lifted by them,” she concluded. “We are happier, wiser, made just a bit more expansive by their shared spirit, and we must remember how lucky we are to have been changed by them, and we have been.”

Eric Dane’s girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff shares intimate tribute after actor’s death at 53

Following the February 19 death of Eric Dane at age 53 after a battle with ALS, the late actor’s girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff is offering a deeply personal look at their relationship.

In a series of Instagram Stories posted February 21, Shirtcliff shared candid snapshots of the former Grey’s Anatomy star — from a black-and-white photo of him smiling mid-tattoo to a relaxed shot in a white tee and cowboy hat beside a horse — along with tender PDA moments and a glimpse at his bond with her child.

Her posts arrive just days after the actor’s passing, painting a portrait of a relationship that unfolded quietly in the public eye while Dane continued to navigate both his illness and a complicated personal life.

Among the memories, Shirtcliff included a sweet video of one of her kids directing an impromptu photo shoot with the Euphoria star.

“I want you to look over there at mom,” the youngster instructed Eric in the clip before commanding him to “smile.”

Dane and Shirtcliff appeared to go public with their romance last June, two months after he revealed his ALS diagnosis. The pair walked the red carpet together at the Los Angeles premiere of his Prime Video crime drama Countdown, laughing and holding hands.

Despite the relationship, Dane remained legally married to estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart, with whom he shared daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14. Even amid their separation, he spoke warmly about her in his final interview.

“I will never, by the time anybody sees this, would have ever fallen in love with another woman as deeply as I fell in love with Rebecca,” Eric told Brad Falchuck on the February 20 episode of Famous Last Words. “She’s the mother of my children, and the whole weight of thinking about it was so organic and fortuitous.”

The pair — who married in Las Vegas less than a year after they started dating — split in 2017, with Gayheart citing “irreconcilable differences.” In a joint statement at the time, they emphasized their commitment to co-parenting.

“After 14 years together we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family,” the duo said. “We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us.”
