David and Victoria Beckham’s tragic reality as Brooklyn celebrates birthday

The Beckhams have been rocked by a family rift that escalated with Brooklyn’s bombshell statement at the turn of the year

The feud ripping through the heart of the Beckhams makes it likely that David and Victoria will not be able to wish their son, Brooklyn, a happy birthday this year. Brooklyn, who turns 27 on Wednesday, caused a stir with a stunning statement he released in January.

After months of speculation about the state of the family’s relations, the couple’s eldest revealed his side of the story with a bombshell message via social media.

The Manchester United idol and former Spice Girl also reportedly received a lawyer’s letter from Brooklyn and wife, Nicola Peltz, last summer. It’s believed to have asked David and Victoria to cease communication with the pair and to even avoid mentioning them on social media.

The correspondence was merely a request and isn’t believed to have led to any action yet. However, Brooklyn has also blocked his parents online.

The strong actions taken by the 27-year-old could mean that David and Victoria will not be able to deliver any birthday messages to their estranged son, with various channels shut off for now. The rift came to a head after Brooklyn and Nicola failed to attend the former England captain’s 50th celebrations in London back in May 2025.

The shocking post on Brooklyn’s Instagram that followed months later claimed his superstar parents have been attempting to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola since they wed in April 2022. The post also alleged that he’s been subject to “relentless attacks” from them in the press.

The statement read: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.

“The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.”

David and Victoria have yet to publicly respond to their son’s earth-shattering remarks. However, David confessed in a post marking Brooklyn’s 26th birthday last year that he yearned to see his firstborn son.
