Stan Wawrinka will clash with Benjamin Hassan in the Round of 32 at the 2026 Dubai Open on Monday, February 23.

Wawrinka received a wildcard in the ATP 500 event in Dubai, having won the tournament in 2016. In his last match, the Swiss suffered a second-round loss to top seed Alex de Minaur in Rotterdam. He also fell in the second round in Montpellier after beating Hamad Medjedovic in the opening match.

The 40-year-old kicked off his season on the tour at the 2026 United Cup, where he won the opening match but lost the next four. At the Australian Open, the former World No. 3 reached the third round of a major for the first time since the 2023 US Open.

Benjamin Hassan, on the other hand, is set to play his first main draw match on the tour since his first-round exit at the 2025 French Open. The German-born Lebanese player is ranked No. 287 in the ATP men’s singles and received a wildcard in the 2026 Dubai Open.

Benjamin Hassan is set to play the biggest match of his career on Monday. The 31-year-old won the first qualifier at the Australian Open last month and also registered another win in the opening round at the challenge-level event in Tenerife earlier this month. However, despite making his tour debut in 2023, Hassan remains without a main draw win on the tour.

Meanwhile, Wawrinaka has been impressive this season with a 5-7 record. The three-time Grand Slam champion is ranked No. 98 in singles and is likely to overcome Hassan with a dominant straight-sets win in the first round of the Dubai Open 2026.

Pick: Wawrinka to win in straight sets.
