Waterloo regional police are investigating a serious collision in Waterloo where a pedestrian was struck by an SUV early Wednesday morning.

Police said emergency crews responded to the area of Bennington Gate and Columbia Street W. at approximately 3:30 a.m.

The pedestrian was sent to hospital by paramedic services. The driver of a dark-coloured SUV left the area before officers arrived, police said.

Anyone with who may have witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage is asked to contact police.
