41-year-old star helps Cody Rhodes take Pat McAfee out as a major problem is solved at WrestleMania 42

Cody Rhodes had a major Pat McAfee problem heading into WrestleMania. Not only was it virtually guaranteed that McAfee would interfere to help Randy Orton win the WWE Title, but it could have been worse. Thankfully, a 41-year-old star came to the aid of Cody and solved that Pat McAfee problem.

For some context, Pat McAfee was revealed to be the man whom Randy Orton was talking to in the lead-up to WrestleMania 42. He reminded Orton who he truly was, which is why he had such a vicious heel turn prior to the Grandest Stage of Them All. McAfee was always going to be a problem, and right before the bell was about to ring, McAfee stopped the referee and assaulted Cody. Randy Orton joined in, and they were beating Cody Rhodes up badly. The American Nightmare finally managed to make a comeback, and when he placed McAfee outside the ring, an unlikely ally showed up.

Jelly Roll, who has been on SmackDown recently, told Cody Rhodes to lay Pat McAfee on the announcer’s desk. He was sure about what he wanted to do, and he laid McAfee out with an elbow through the table, effectively solving the problem that he created.

Nobody would have expected that Jelly Roll would be the one to help Cody solve the Pat McAfee problem. Right away, things were neutralized, and for some reason, there was still a bit of a delay to get to the bell-ringing part of things.

Once things began, it was a far fairer back-and-forth contest. Jelly Roll likely helped because he felt guilty about having a part to play in all the of the events. He thought that he talked sense into Orton, who was his friend and one-time tag team partner, but that, too, turned out to be a lie.
