Man United receive Morgan Rogers transfer boost as summer exit agreed
Manchester United have reportedly been handed a major transfer boost ahead of the summer
Manchester United will be looking to bounce back from their deflating defeat to Leeds as the Premier League run-in gathers pace. United face a huge challenge in maintaining their third-place standing.
A visit to face Chelsea lies ahead and Michael Carrick’s squad will require all three points. Should they fail to secure a win, both Aston Villa and Liverpool could leapfrog them on points and goal difference by Sunday evening.
United are also set to be without Lisandro Martinez, who received a red card for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hair on Monday night. The Argentine could be handed a three-match suspension for violent conduct, meaning Carrick will need to make further defensive alterations before the weekend.

With just six fixtures left on the domestic calendar, United will be eager to conclude the campaign strongly and secure Champions League qualification. Here, the Manchester Evening News brings you some of the latest developments emerging from Old Trafford.
Bayindir agrees terms
Altay Bayindir has allegedly reached an agreement to leave Old Trafford this summer and return to Turkey. The reserve goalkeeper arrived in September 2023 from Fenerbahce for a fee of £4.3million.
However, he has made just 17 appearances across two-and-a-half years and has served as understudy to the likes of Andre Onana and Senne Lammens. Bayindir had featured in several matches at the beginning of the season, but the arrival of Lammens from Royal Antwerp resulted in him dropping back down the pecking order.
Turkish publication Fanatik have claimed that the 27-year-old has agreed personal terms with Besiktas, who had been linked with the goalkeeper in January. United are understood to have no intention of blocking the Turk’s departure.
The move is consequently anticipated to be completed once the season concludes. With his Old Trafford contract running until 2027, the club should receive a modest fee for his exit.
Rogers boost received
United have been handed a timely boost in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Sky Sports France reports that the 23-year-old is “very open” to a switch to Old Trafford should they secure Champions League qualification.
European competition is said to be a pivotal consideration in the England international’s thinking for next season. Chelsea are also monitoring the star, though their current sixth-place position could benefit United’s chase for Rogers.
Additional clubs reported to be interested in the midfielder include Arsenal and Bayern Munich. Villa place a substantial £90m price tag on Rogers, meaning United will need to commit a significant transfer fee to ward off rival suitors.
Given the World Cup is also on the horizon this summer, United may be keen to conclude a deal swiftly, particularly as he is expected to feature prominently for England. Rogers has registered 18 goal contributions across 46 appearances this season and could well be the standout transfer story of the summer window.
