Liverpool 0-0 PSG
Lovely combinations from Salah and Wirtz as the latter is sent through by his teammate, but his touch is too heavy and Pacho clears.
Liverpool win a corner but Safonov does well to punch clear under pressure.

Liverpool 0-0 PSG
It falls for Gakpo and he takes the shot early, forcing a good save from Safonov.
Gomez heads over from the corner, and while Doue is back on, he’s gone down again after limping around.

Liverpool 0-0 PSG
A fairly bright start for the hosts as Salah’s ball in causes some pinball in the PSG area.
Moments later, another clipped ball in is headed over to Gakpo, but he can’t get in under control.
Up the other end, Doue might need treatment after colliding with a ball boy.

‘Can Cody Gakpo turn destroyer of PSG’
The thoughts of Richard Jolly on those half-time subs from the hosts:
“So Isak lasted 45 minutes in which he had Liverpool’s first effort on target of the tie but otherwise achieved little else. Can Cody Gakpo turn destroyer of PSG? Probably not.”

‘PSG navigated that first half with few alarms’
The half-time thoughts of Richard Jolly, who’s in place at Anfield tonight…
“PSG navigated that first half with few alarms. And given how wet it is at Anfield, navigated may be an appropriate word.”

HALF-TIME! Liverpool 0-0 PSG
The first half comes to an end without anything else of note and both teams head in level at the break.
It’s been an entertaining half at Anfield and it’s a surprise that it’s ended level, as both sides missed huge chances.
Dembele will feel like he should have put PSG ahead, while at the other end Marquinhos did superbly well to prevent a certain goal as van Dijk’s eyes lit up.
It means the tie is still finely poised as we enter the second half, though it’ll be PSG who are the happier of the two sides – and the holders will feel they can punish the Reds in the second half is things stay the same.

Liverpool 0-0 PSG
Liverpool haven’t really been able to get out of their half as we approach the end of the first 45, with a couple of sloppy passes meaning they’ve given the ball away far too easily. They’ve arguably got away with a couple of sloppy PSG through balls too.
