This weekend will start out warm and rainy and end cold and rainy (with possible snow) but there’s lots of fun events to distract you from the weather.

Waterloo’s city council is hosting a free public skate on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to noon at the Albert McCormick Arena. This is a drop-in event but it could fill up so it’s best to arrive early. There will also be some treats and hot beverages.

Pages and Pleasures is a romance book fair and market at Bingemans in Kitchener on Saturday. There will be authors and vendors on site for this free event.

Grab an ugly sweater and hop on the Guelph Beer Bus, which has it’s first run of the season on Saturday. The free shuttle bus takes people to five breweries in the city between noon and 7 p.m. The bus runs once per month until November and each time there’s a new theme. This month it’s Ugly Sweater Day (in May it’s 80s Retro).

The Cambridge Public Library will host a Women In Trades information fair at the Queen’s Square branch Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a panel discussion at 11 a.m. that requires registration.

Waterloo Public Library’s 150th Birthday Bash

Saturday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
