How to get Gold Ingot in Windrose

Obtaining a Gold Ingot in Windrose is like finding buried treasure on a remote island in the middle of the vast ocean. The odds of this happening are slim, but never zero, which is a good thing, as they are rather valuable and can be used to craft several powerful items.

If you happen to come across a Gold Ingot in the opening hours of your playthrough, consider yourself lucky. That being said, here’s how you can obtain a Gold Ingot in Windrose and what you can use it for later on in the game.

How to find Gold Ingot in Windrose

Unlike Copper and Iron Ingots, Gold ones cannot be smelted (at least, not yet). You can only obtain them by purchasing them from traders using Piastre or exploring dangerous regions to find them. It goes without saying that trying to obtain this crafting material will not be easy.

If you intend to find them, you’ll need to first explore Ancient Ruins. These can be found all over the archipelago and are often heavily defended by enemy forces. Their entrance are usually hidden, but easy enough to spot, like the one located in Blackbeard Ruins Excavation Site (accessed during The Bitter Pill quest). You’ll organically find many more as you explore.

Once you defeat whoever (or whatever) is defending these Ancient Ruins, you can go loot the Ancient Chest to find a Gold Ingot in Windrose. Aside from Gold, you can also come across Tumbaga Ingots. These are an ancient alloy of Copper and Gold.

How to use Gold Ingot in Windrose

Aside from being used to build the Jeweller’s Bench, Gold Ingots can be used in the crafting of Amulets and Rings. These are not ordinary pieces of jewellery, crafted for decorative purposes, but rather items you can use to boost your skills. These will boost skills such as Agility, Stamina, Strength, Vitality, and provide a myriad of other buffs.

Of course, you will not be able to craft these right off the bat, but when you are, make use of them to the fullest. They are bound to boost your combat capabilities and give you the edge over enemies. They won’t make you unstoppable, but if you’re going for a certain build, these will let you add more points into one skill.
