The Calgary Police Service’s homicide unit is investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the northeast community of Rundle on Friday morning.
At around 6:20 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Rundlecairn Road N.E., for reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, police said officers found a man in his 50s suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he later died.
In a news release, police said a man was taken into custody in relation to the assault and investigators are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
Police said investigators believe the assault was a targeted incident and that there is no threat to the public.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
