Blue Jays’ Daulton Varsho exits vs. Diamondbacks with left knee discomfort

Varsho took one at-bat in the top of the first, striking out looking, and played two innings defensively before Myles Straw took over in centre.

It is unclear when Varsho sustained the injury.

The 29-year-old entered Friday as one of Toronto’s hottest hitters. After his first-inning strikeout, Varsho owned a .262/.333/.462 slashline with three home runs and four doubles.

Varsho dealt with shoulder and hamstring issues in 2025, but still managed to hit 20 home runs in the 71 games that he did play.

If Varsho were to miss any time, it would further test the Blue Jays’ depth, as lineup regulars George Springer, Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk are already on the injured list.
