A 23-year-old man was in hospital Thursday morning recovering from at least one gunshot wound after he was shot the night before in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.

Montreal police said they received a 911 call around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday reporting that the wounded man had shown up at a local hospital seeking medical help.

An investigation led to the scene of the shooting — a parking lot at the corner of Grenet and de Louisbourg Sts. — and a car bearing multiple bullet impacts. Shell casings were also found at the scene.

Police said the man’s wounds were not deemed to be life-threatening and the investigation is continuing Thursday.
