Shakur Stevenson hasn’t come close to losing in his professional career so far but one reigning world champion believes he would defeat the unbeaten star with ease.

Stevenson became a four-weight world champion back in January when he put in a stellar performance to defeat Teofimo Lopez for his WBO super-lightweight title at Madison Square Garden in New York.

That triumph has gone alongside previous world title reigns at featherweight, super-featherweight and lightweight, and it is currently hard to see who could possibly be the one to end Stevenson’s undefeated record.

One fighter that Stevenson has since been linked to is Ryan Garcia, who won the WBC welterweight title when he overcame Mario Barrios in February.

Garcia has been discussing a possible clash with Stevenson on the Creators Think Podcast, insisting he wouldn’t find it difficult to claim a win against his rival.

I’ve beaten a slick fighter already, Devin Haney, who is longer, stronger and faster than Shakur.

Shakur’s better defensively, but he’s never faced a guy as fast and with timing like myself. It wouldn’t be a hard fight.”

As Garcia mentioned, he did get a majority decision victory against Haney when they fought in April 2024, though the result was later changed to a no contest after ‘King Ry’ failed a drugs test, resulting in a one-year suspension.

Stevenson and Garcia have gone back and forth in recent weeks over a proposed meeting, but any chance of seeing the bout next may be unlikely after ‘King Ry’ revealed a different name as his upcoming opponent.
