Winnipeg residents might not have to access some municipal services from Thursday night until early Friday morning while the city works on network upgrades.

The city says in a news release that its three call centres and online services might be intermittently unavailable between  9 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.

Possible disruptions to service include:

  • 311, Water & Waste, and Winnipeg Transit call centres.
  • MyAccount Services and winnipeg.ca.
  • Self-service online forms.
  • MyUtility.
  • Winnipeg Transit app, Navigo, and Peggo purchases (online and in person).
  • Permits Online.
  • Parking ticket payments and appeals.
  • Job postings and job applications.
  • Business licence renewals and pet licences.
  • Winnipeg Public Library online services.

The city says the network upgrades — scheduled to happen overnight to reduce the public impact — will improve system security, reliability and performance.

The changes will help the city provide “better customer service to residents,” the release says.
