Waterloo regional police arrested and charged two men and a teen after responding to concerns people were trespassing at a construction site in Kitchener Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the area of a construction site on King Street E. shortly after 3 p.m. after receiving a report that three people had climbed onto the top beam of a tower crane on the site.

Within minutes of arriving, police observed the group climb the crane and enter a 32-storey building that is under construction through an opening on an upper floor, police said.

After searching the building for over an hour, officers found the group hiding inside a portable toilet on the 22nd floor, police said.

A 20-year-old from St. Catharines, a 20-year-old from Waterdown and a 16-year-old from Hamilton were arrested and charged with trespassing.
