Two vehicles torched in St-Léonard

Montreal police arson investigators will examine the remains of a pickup truck and SUV after the two vehicles were torched early Friday in the borough of St-Léonard.

Montreal police said they were alerted to the incident by a 911 call around 2 a.m. reporting vehicles on fire on d’Antibes St. near l’Aiglon St.

When police arrived, Montreal firefighters were battling the flames and a nearby apartment block had been evacuated as a precaution.

At least one suspect was seen setting the vehicles alight before fleeing.

Police will interview witnesses and examine local surveillance cameras in an effort to garner more information on the incident.

Both vehicles were described as “a total loss” by police. There were no injuries reported.
