Trio charged after gun, ammo seized in Mississauga stop

Three men face several charges each after police say a traffic stop in Mississauga led to the seizure of a firearm and ammunition on Friday night.

Peel Regional Police said officers from the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team investigated a vehicle in the area of Bristol Rd. W. and Creditview Rd. at approximately 10:15 p.m.

During the investigation, police said the officers allegedly observed the occupants of the vehicle to be in violation of the Cannabis Control Act.
According to police, officers instructed the individuals to get out of the vehicle for a search. However, one of the accused allegedly fled and was chased briefly by police on foot before being taken into custody.
During the search of the accused, police allege a loaded illegal handgun and a magazine containing ammunition were found.

Malik Laroche, 18, and Jedidiah Henry, 19, both of Brampton, and David Eze, 22, of Mississauga, were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, possess firearm with altered serial number, and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
