Police said an 18-year-old Toronto man was charged with weapon offences Wednesday after the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the Black Creek-Trethewey Drs. area of York.

They said a loaded Glock handgun was allegedly seized by officers.
David Pennycooke was charged with possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and failure to comply with a release order.

Retail worker threatened with knife
Police are appealing for help in identifying a man accused of threatening a retail employee with a knife during a downtown robbery.
Toronto Police said they responded to a robbery call on Feb. 16 at about 7:40 p.m. in the Yonge St.-Gerrard St. W. area, where a lone male suspect entered a store and approached the checkout to make purchases.

The suspect then produced a knife and took cash that he demanded before fleeing from the area.
Police said the suspect is about 25 years old, 5-foot-10 and has a thin build.

Toronto man accused of “multiple” break-ins
A 49-year-old Toronto man is wanted by police after being accused of “multiple” break-ins in the Riverside area.
Toronto Police said they received five separate calls for break-and-enters between Feb. 18 and Saturday in the Queen St. E.-Broadview Ave. area.
In each of the incidents, the suspect damaged the lock on the front entrance and forced entry before stealing a “number of items” including cash boxes and registers. He would then flee before police arrived.

David Correia is wanted for break and enter with intent, three counts of mischief under $5,000, four counts of break and enter to commit and six counts of failure to comply with a release order.
Correia is about 6-foot and 160 pounds and has dark hair, grey and brown facial hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket with the hood up.

Residential break-ins probed on Hamilton Mountain
Police are seeking a male suspect accused of breaking into homes in Hamilton’s East Mountain.
Hamilton Police did not provide dates, but said a male suspect was seen ringing the doorbell at residences before gaining entry. He then targeted jewelry and electronic items once he was inside.

Police said the suspect has a medium build and was wearing dark clothing with his face partly concealed.
“Hamilton Police would like to remind residents to ensure doors and windows are secured at all times and to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood,” police said in a news release, which included video footage of the suspect.
