WATCH: Oklahoma trans attorney jailed for contempt after epic court meltdown

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A custody hearing in Ada, Oklahoma, last month took a turn for the unexpected — and the incredibly loud — after an attorney who identified himself as transgender was arrested and dragged from the courtroom where he had appeared to represent his client just minutes before.

The exchange occurred during a custody hearing in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, some 90 minutes southeast of Oklahoma City. The attorney, Rob Hopkins, was jailed for contempt after sparring repeatedly with the judge, Lori Jackson, during an otherwise unremarkable proceeding.

Surveillance footage, audio, and body camera footage reviewed by Fox News Digital has shed new light on the extraordinary confrontation, in which Hopkins can be seen actively resisting arrest by bailiffs. At one point, Hopkins can be seen splaying his body across the judge’s bench, resulting in a pile of documents being swept off its finely polished wood surface.

“You’re HURTING ME!” Hopkins bellowed, as bystanders looked on. “I can’t BREATHE!” he shrieked again, louder.

Attendees in the courtroom could be seen looking on quietly as Hopkins twisted, turned, and contorted his body to evade the handcuffs that officers used to restrain him.

“I felt very threatened by this person,” one individual could be heard telling the judge.

The meltdown in question, and the arrest, occurred during a custody hearing punctuated by repeated interruptions from Hopkins and warnings from Jackson that he would be held in contempt.

Hopkins then suggested she was discriminating against him for his transgender status, escalating tensions inside the courtroom.

“It’s because I’m a transgender attorney practicing all over the state,” Hopkins leveled sharply, to which Jackson shot back: “I don’t know what you are.”

“I don’t know you from Adam,” Jackson said later, describing his conduct as “entirely inappropriate.”

Shortly after, bailiffs entered the courtroom, prompting the hearing to descend into complete chaos.

“Do NOT HURT ME!” Hopkins yelled at the officers.

“I’m being thrown down!” he bellowed, as he threw himself on the bench before the officers eventually forced him onto the floor.

More officers streamed in to help restrain Hopkins, whose uproarious exclamations had, at that point, drawn a crowd — not only in the courtroom, but also in the hallways surrounding it, as the body camera footage shows.

“Get a female officer, now!” Hopkins demanded. “Call 911!” he shrieked, as the officers attempted to place him in handcuffs.

“I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” he declared.

From the floor of the court, Hopkins accused the officers of “throwing his glasses” onto the floor — a claim that surveillance footage reviewed by Fox News Digital appears to refute — and ordered the officers to place them back on his face.

“Put them on my face,” Hopkins demanded repeatedly, as the officers attempted to place Hopkins into a seated position and escort him from the court. “PUT THEM ON MY FACE!” Hopkins screamed once more, the volume and urgency unchanged from his request for emergency services just seconds before.

Tyler Robinson defense asks court to bar cameras for next in-person hearing

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Accused Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson filed a Sunday court motion to bar all still cameras, video cameras and microphones from a critical hearing on April 17.

On that day, Robinson is scheduled to be present in court, and the state and defense are expected to make a flurry of motions.

Judge Tony Graf has not made a ruling on whether to ban electronic media throughout the course of the trial.

Fox News Legal Analyst Donna Rotunno, host of the podcast “Crime & Justice with Donna Rotunno,” said Graf should “take control” and make a definitive ruling on media in the courtroom throughout the rest of the proceedings.

TYLER ROBINSON PROSECUTORS SAY CHARLIE KIRK SHOOTING TEXTS SHOW CONFUSION, NOT BIAS, TO REBUT CONFLICT CLAIM

She said the defense asking only to ban electronic media for the April 17 hearing could be indicative of a larger strategy, and that they may ask to bar media on a hearing-by-hearing basis. That way, if Graf rules against them, they will only lose the motion for one specific hearing, and not for all the proceedings moving forward.

Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, has pleaded for cameras to be allowed during the trial.

“There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered,” she told Fox News’ Jesse Watters in an exclusive interview in November. “There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning. There have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear. We deserve to have cameras in there.”

WHY POLITICAL ASSASSINATION CASES AREN’T AUTOMATICALLY DEATH PENALTY ELIGIBLE

“Why not be transparent?” Kirk continued. “There’s nothing to hide. I know there’s not because I’ve seen what the case is built on.”

Prosecutors also filed a response to a motion filed by Robinson’s team last week, asking the court to push a May 18 preliminary hearing back. The defense is asking to push back the preliminary hearing until expert discovery is complete, and prosecutors argue that the hearing should be held on the scheduled date.

The state argues that the defense is trying to confer upon itself rights during the preliminary stage of the trial that it is not entitled to until the actual trial itself, and that discovery is meant to be reserved for the trial, not preliminary proceedings.

Rotunno agrees that the defense has been given enough discovery leeway in the preliminary stage of the court proceedings, and that the hearing should remain scheduled for May 18.

Philadelphia man stabs Planet Fitness worker after getting banned from gym: police

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A Philadelphia man is facing an attempted murder charge after authorities say he stabbed a gym employee multiple times at a Planet Fitness he had been banned from, leaving the victim fighting for his life.

Davier Massey, 28, was arrested Thursday shortly after the attack at the gym in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township, the local police department said.

Officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to reports of a stabbing at the Planet Fitness and found a male employee suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. He was rushed to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries. No updates on his current condition were immediately provided.

Investigators said the attack followed an altercation between the employee and Massey, who had been banned from the gym.

Illegal migrant charged in deadly 124 mph chase that killed pregnant teen, unborn child

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Saturday an immigration detainer has been lodged against an illegal immigrant accused of leading Ohio deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash killing a pregnant 17-year-old girl and her unborn child, and injuring another woman.

Tarsem Singh, an Indian national, was recently indicted on vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide charges, according to DHS.

He is being held on a $1 million bond, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an arrest detainer with Ohio authorities.

The fatal Feb. 16 chase was initiated after a Darke County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed an SUV driving nearly 25 mph over the speed limit.

Officials said the deputy attempted to catch up to the SUV, allegedly driven by Singh, and paced the vehicle at 100 mph.

As the deputy activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, the SUV sped away, driving roughly five miles at speeds reaching 124 mph before crashing into an eastbound vehicle on a curve, according to the sheriff’s office.

The deputy immediately notified dispatch of the crash and checked for injuries, finding pregnant 17-year-old Ashlee Holmes, Singh’s passenger, dead after being ejected from the vehicle, local outlet WDTN reported.

Singh was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

The female driver of the eastbound vehicle was conscious and alert with injuries, and taken to Union City to Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials said the pursuit lasted less than three minutes from the time it was initiated until the crash.

It is unclear why Holmes was in Singh’s vehicle.

“This is yet another tragic reminder of why illegal aliens should not be driving cars on America’s roads,” DHS acting assistant secretary Lauren Bis wrote in a statement. “A 17-year-old woman and her unborn child are now dead as a result of this illegal alien’s reckless actions.”

Singh allegedly entered the country illegally in February 2017 through the southern border in California and was arrested before being ordered released by a judge on bond.

Bis said the newly filed ICE detainer was lodged against Singh to ensure he is “never released and allowed back behind the wheel to put more innocent lives at risk.”

Stunning first glimpse of Earth sent by Artemis crew

Stunning first glimpse of Earth sent by Artemis crew
Hello, world (Picture: NASA)

This is how planet Earth looks to the Artemis II astronauts.

The crew travelling on board the Artemis II rocket have sent through the first images of Earth as it looks from their POV.

The surreal snaps were taken by the NASA astronaut and Artemis Commander Reid Wiseman, who is one of the four-strong team on their way to the moon.

It shows Earth from the Orion spacecraft’s window after it completed the translunar injection burn, which took the rocket out of Earth’s orbit.

This image provided by NASA shows a downlink image of Earth taken by NASA Artemis II astronaut commander Reid Wiseman inside the Orion capsule on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Eagle-eyed viewers can spot two auroras on the top right and bottom left, with a zodiacal light glimmering on the background as the Earth eclipses the Sun.

A second image shows the view from one of the Orion’s four windows.

NASA said: ‘We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That’s us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.’

Read here how long it will take for the astronauts to reach the moon.

Wiseman is heading to the moon and back with Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen.

The crew are inching closer towards the moon inside the spacecraft, which has been described as cosy after taking off from Florida on April 1.

They will be carrying out all their daily duties inside the 330-cubic-foot capsule – roughly the size of a minivan.

It will be their home for 10 days until it plunges back on Earth and into the Pacific Ocean.

The astronauts have all gone through special cosmic toilet training to deal with the pesky lack of gravity.

Why Trump’s war speech failed: Declaring victory but still bombing Iran back to the ‘Stone Ages’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

There was something about President Trump’s prime-time address that didn’t add up.

Several things, actually.

But what struck me immediately was his low-energy delivery. He backed into it, first talking about the Artemis moon mission and then the oil we’re seizing from Venezuela. After that he was just reading words off the prompter.

No one could argue with the president’s core message. Iran is the world’s leading terror state. Something should have been done during its 47-year history of violence and murderous proxies like Hamas. Iran can never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. The dictators killed 45,000 of their own people (though Trump played this down when he was trying to negotiate a deal).

TRUMP LASHES OUT AT ‘SICK’ IRANIAN LEADERS, CONFIRMS ESTIMATED TIMELINE FOR ENDING WAR

But the 19-minute speech was a jumble of contradictions. Trump kept saying we’ve won, we’ve decimated Iran’s military, which is true. And yet he said the U.S. will intensify its bombing campaign for the next two to three weeks, targeting Tehran’s energy facilities.

Why is that necessary, if America has already won? And will it really last less than a month?

It was clear heading into the speech that Trump knows how unpopular the war is. He knows that soaring gas prices are hurting him at home. He knows he is dropping like a rock with young men who bought his no-foreign-wars rhetoric.

MORNING GLORY: PRESIDENT TRUMP’S BIG SPEECH ON IRAN — WHAT WILL IT DO?

He knows – and this is critical – the stock market has tanked since U.S. and Israeli warplanes attacked Iran on the last day of February. Trump is extremely sensitive to the market, as we saw when the Dow hit 50,000, and that often spurs him into action.

Having boxed himself into a corner with an Iranian regime that refuses to seriously negotiate, the public expectation was that he would declare victory and get out. But that didn’t happen. Instead, Trump declared he’ll be bombing Iran back to the “Stone Ages.”

What about the president’s own goals?

FORMER REP. MTG VENTS THAT SHE’S ‘SO BEYOND DONE,’ CHARACTERIZING TRUMP’S ADDRESS AS ‘WAR WAR WAR’

He said the war’s goal was never regime change. But he spoke about regime change the morning after the initial attack. In any event, Trump now claims it’s been achieved because several levels of leadership, starting with the Ayatollah, have been killed,

But the new sheriff in town, the Iranian parliament speaker, Mohammad Ghalibaf, lashed out yesterday.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf

“When it comes to defending our homeland,” he said in a posting, “each and every one of us will become a soldier of this country. If you look askance at our mother’s house … you’re up against the whole family, all of us. Armed, ready, and standing. Come on in, we’re waiting.”

ROGAN, DAVE SMITH SPEAK ABOUT HOW TRUMP’S IRAN WAR BROKE HIS COALITION, COULD HAND COUNTRY RIGHT BACK TO DEMS

So much for regime change.

Again and again, Trump said the war could not end until Iran stopped blockading a fifth of the world’s oil traffic at the Strait of Hormuz. But in Wednesday night’s speech, he washed his hands of the matter. We don’t rely on the strait, so who cares? It will “open up naturally,” on its own.

The president then scolded our onetime European allies, saying they should show some “delayed courage” and “just take” Hormuz–as if it were that easy.

TRUMP’S IRAN STRATEGY SHOWCASES ‘DOCTRINE OF UNPREDICTABILITY’ AMID STRIKE THREATS AND SUDDEN PAUSE

As for Trump’s declaration that our country is now “free of the specter of nuclear blackmail,” Iran still has nearly 1,000 pounds of highly enriched uranium–and further enrichment could lead to a nuclear weapon.

In a CNN poll released just before the speech, 66 percent of those surveyed said they strongly or somewhat disapprove of the decision to attack Iran, a 7-point jump since the conflict began.

Most network pundits criticized the address as a rehash of things that Trump has said before.

POLL POSITION: WHERE TRUMP STANDS AMONG AMERICANS AS HE FACES THE NATION IN PRIMETIME

“There was nothing new in that speech,” said ABC’s Jonathan Karl, adding: “Not a lot of optimism.”

His colleague Martha Raddatz: “It added to the confusion of why we are there.”

European leaders felt blindsided by the war. “When we’re serious,” said French President Emmanuel Macron, “we don’t say the opposite of what we said the day before every day, and maybe one shouldn’t speak every day,”

President Donald Trump shakes hands with France’s President Emmanuel Macron during a summit in Sharm El Sheikh.

Austria and Switzerland yesterday joined Italy, Spain and France in banning U.S. warplanes headed for Iran from their skies. They don’t want any part of this war. Britain’s prime minister had done the same but reversed himself after Iran retaliated.

In the first sign of intensified bombing yesterday, Iranian authorities said an airstrike had destroyed a Tehran research facility called the Pasteur Institute.

I don’t know if the timing was deliberate, the day after the speech, but the president dramatically changed the subject yesterday.

The media are already moving on to Trump’s decision yesterday to fire Pam Bondi as attorney general, because she hasn’t been aggressive enough in prosecuting his political enemies, and for her mishandling of the Epstein files.

In the end, the speech may matter less than what happens for the rest of April.

If Trump ends the assault on the timeline he’s suggested, voters may breathe a sigh of relief and move on. They’ll remember that Trump went after the Mideast terrorists and be mollified if gas prices start declining.

The problem is that the damage to the world economy may be far more painful, and much longer lasting, than if the president had not launched his war of choice. And no single speech could change that.

Migrant charged in Gilgo Beach throat slashing, fueling serial killer copycat fears

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

New York prosecutors have charged a Venezuelan man with attempted murder in a throat slashing attempt that experts warn could be a potential copycat attempt ahead of an expected guilty plea from the suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer.

“This defendant allegedly drove a man that he knew to a remote beach and attacked him from behind with a knife,” Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said in a statement.

“The evidence recovered from his vehicle raises serious questions about what he intended that night.”

Ruben Guanipa Ramirez, 26, is accused of smothering an unidentified male victim’s mouth with a rag before stabbing him from behind in the left side and attempting to slash his throat.

Police later searched Ramirez’s car, a 2024 Lexus NX250, and allegedly found multiple knives, rope, duct tape, blankets, plastic drop cloths, a “large-wheeled bag,” gloves and a box cutter.

Ramirez’s immigration status was not immediately clear. He’s being held at the Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead — the same facility housing Gilgo Beach suspect Rex Heuermann, 62.

While authorities have not publicly spoken of any connection between the crimes, observers like retired NYPD sergeant Joseph Giacalone, former head of the NYPD’s Bronx Cold Case Unit, see alarming similarities.

“Was this a copycat crime… related to what is happening with Rex Heuermann in the news?” said Giacalone, who has been following the Gilgo case for years.

“They need to take a long hard look at this guy.”

He said the items recovered from Ramirez’s car were particularly concerning, noting Heuermann’s alleged victims were found bound with duct tape and wrapped in burlap or plastic.

Some were dismembered.

Prior to the attack in the Gilgo Beach parking lot, Ramirez allegedly drove the victim to a pool hall in Nassau County and then Jones Beach, another waterfront nearby — where Heuermann once worked on the summer beach patrol.

Former FBI agent suggests inside job in Massachusetts mansion heist as ‘specific and valuable’ items stolen

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

After news of a major heist at a $20 million seaside Massachusetts mansion, one former FBI investigator says details provided by the home’s owner could point to an inside job.

“It certainly sounds to me pretty clear that there was some inside information about this property, about the home, and more so about the specific valuables that were taken,” Bill Daly told Fox News Digital, adding that unless certain items were widely and publicly known to be inside the home, investigators will likely hone in on potential suspects who had access to the property.

Daly was an investigator and counterintelligence operative for the federal law enforcement agency.

Beverly, Massachusetts police said the brazen robbery occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, and that a neighbor called the police at 8:50 a.m., alerting them of the crime. The opulent 27,000-square-foot mansion rests on ocean front property northeast of Boston.

CHILEAN BURGLARY CREW FILMED THEMSELVES DURING $3M SOCAL JEWELRY HEIST, CAUGHT WEARING LOOT: DA

“Through an investigation, Beverly Police determined that an armed suspect had broken into the home and assaulted and tied up the home’s sole occupant before stealing several items from the house, including a vehicle, which the suspect used to leave the scene,” the agency said.

Thomas Swan III owns the luxe property, and told WCVB that the victim was his housekeeper.

“What they did to my housekeeper was just horrendous,” Swan said. “She was held at gunpoint, sometimes dragged by her hair, ultimately tied up and left in the garage. She’s really, really special, but truly traumatized by this, truly traumatized.”

Swan added that the items taken from the home were “some very specific and valuable things.”

The robber reportedly fled the scene in a Porsche stolen from the home, which was ultimately located by police several miles away in the town of Lynn, Massachusetts.

BURGLARS CAUGHT SPYING ON HOMES WITH HIDDEN CAMOUFLAGED CAMERAS BEFORE STRIKING NEIGHBORHOODS

Daly noted that the tactics used by the suspect differ from those typically found in high-profile targeted robberies involving expensive items.

“It is interesting in this case that [the suspect] appears to have abused, pistol-whipped and perhaps even dragged the housekeeper by her hair,” said Daly. “It’s different from the typical method of operation. If you look at the people who robbed the gems and the art out of the Louvre, they were sleek, they kind of blended in, they didn’t hurt anyone in the process. And you see that often when you talk about high net worth break-ins or you hear about valuables taken from art galleries or from museums.”

“It’s done in a much more low-key fashion. This one was much more brazen, and also seems to be a little bit bordering, kind of a bit thuggish, if you will.”

Jimmy Gracey’s chain necklace never recovered after Spanish police rule death accidental

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

FIRST ON FOX: Spanish authorities confirmed to Fox News Digital on Tuesday that Jimmy Gracey’s signature gold chain and rhinestone cross have not been found as part of the investigation into the 20-year-old’s death.

Carles Valles, a spokesperson for the Mossos d’Esquadra, the regional Catalan police, confirmed that the necklace has not been found.

Only a day after the 20-year-old University of Alabama junior’s body was found in the water near Port Olimpic, a marina on the Mediterranean Sea just a few hundred feet from where he and friends had been partying at the famed Shoko nightclub, police concluded that Gracey’s death was accidental.

Results of an autopsy and toxicology report have not been released.

Jason Pack, a former FBI analyst, said the story of the evidence gathered in the case must be filtered through the lens of the grieving Gracey family.

“Spanish authorities have ruled his death accidental. Surveillance footage reportedly shows him walking alone toward the water. The autopsy points to drowning. And the man arrested with Jimmy’s phone is believed to have simply found it on the street,” Pack told Fox News Digital. “Spanish investigators cleared him of involvement and charged him with illegal possession of stolen property. That explanation seems plausible with the right context — like if the trauma was postmortem.”

“What lingers are a few details that haven’t been fully explained publicly,” he said. “Some reports have raised questions about certain forensic language in the preliminary autopsy findings. His wallet came back intact: cash, cards, ID all there … which Spanish police say supports the conclusion he wasn’t targeted.”

“His gold chain, which he’s wearing in the last known photo of him alive, has not been recovered. That may mean nothing. Breakwaters are unforgiving and currents are strong,” he continued. “But families don’t get to grieve cleanly when questions are still lingering. Hopefully, Spanish authorities have already sat down with the Graceys privately and walked them through every detail.”

“A family that raised a young man like Jimmy clearly knows something about faith and grace,” he said. “I’m praying they find both in the days ahead.”
