Jaden Ivey claims he was cut for preaching Gospel, claims Bulls’ reason for release is a ‘lie’

Former Chicago Bulls player Jaden Ivey maintained that the conduct he showed in going against the NBA’s Pride Month and anti-LGBTQ beliefs was not detrimental to the team.

The Bulls waived Ivey after he posted a rant on social media calling the NBA’s Pride Month “unrighteousness.” Chicago said Ivey committed conduct detrimental to the team.

“My conduct was not detrimental to the team,” he said in an appearance on the “PinPoint Podcast.” “That is a lie. I was a good teammate to those around me. I was a good teammate on the floor. I made the right plays. I did exactly what the coach asked me to do on a daily basis. Whatever was needed, whatever was required of me to do, I was willing. So, my conduct was not detrimental to the team.”

Ivey said he was only cut because he was preaching “the word of God.”

“It is strictly because I spoke the truth of the word of God and was preaching the Gospel,” he continued. “That’s why it was detrimental to the team. I witnessed to many on my team the truth and those things.

“Everyone has their beliefs. Everyone believes in something. If someone can speak and curse and speak about unrighteousness about whatever it may be, then I can speak the truth and that’s because my God says to speak the truth to the lost, to those who don’t know Jesus, to those who are not born again.”

Ivey also said in the podcast he tried to die by suicide multiple times.

“I’m not ashamed to say it. I’m not ashamed to say it because God was merciful to keep me here,” he said. “I almost committed suicide. I had Oxy pills in my hands, and my wife was telling me, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t do this. Don’t go down like this.’ And God was convicting me. And I didn’t know the truth. I didn’t do it by God’s grace. He kept me here.”

Ivey pushed back on the narrative that he’s “crazy.”

“It’s really sad,” he said. “They don’t say to somebody who’s going to clubs, ‘Are you crazy?’ They don’t look to somebody that’s smoking weed, ‘Are you crazy?’ But to be the Christian proclaiming the truth, preaching the Gospel, I’m looked at as crazy and have a mental illness and I’m psycho and I need help and I’m crazy because I love God.

Brown’s hat trick keeps London Knights alive in 1st-round series against Sault Ste. Marie – London | Globalnews.ca

Ryan Brown recorded a hat trick as the London Knights defeated the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 4-1 to force a fifth game in the Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Brown’s hat trick keeps London Knights alive in 1st-round series against Sault Ste. Marie – London | Globalnews.ca

After back-to-back overtime victories by the Greyhounds gave them a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series, London fought their way through the second game in as many days down two veteran players, as Braiden Clark and Linus Funck both missed Game 4 with upper-body injuries.

Quinn McKenzie of Sault Ste. Marie scored the first goal of the game at 6:55 of the opening period as he wrapped the puck around the London net and got it by Aleksei Medvedev.

Medvedev was making his first playoff start after making 36 appearances for the Knights in the regular season.

A big second period from London put them in front 2-1 as they killed off four Greyhound power plays and got goals from Jacob Vandeven and Ryan Brown.

Vandeven came out of the penalty box, took a pass from Will Nicholl and went in on a two-on-one with Nicholl, where Vandeven snapped in his first Ontario Hockey League goal at 6:51.

Brown scored on a Knights power play at the 13:41 mark as London got the puck to the Sault Ste. Marie net, then batted and whacked away until it popped to Brown at the right post. Brown put the puck in for his first goal of the post-season and a London lead going into the final 20 minutes.

Brown scored on a breakaway at 14:58 of the third period to make it 3-1 thanks to a high flip pass from Caleb Mitchell, then finished the scoring into an empty net with 3:03 to go in the game.

Medvedev made 25 saves for his first playoff win. Will Nicholl had two assists on the night.

Each team finished the game with 26 shots on goal.

The Knights were 1-for-4 on the power play and 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.

Tiger Woods declines Ryder Cup captaincy after DUI, car crash

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Team USA will not have Tiger woods as a captain at the next Ryder Cup, after Woods’ latest controversy.

Woods formally turned down the Ryder Cup captaincy Wednesday as he steps away from golf activities after he entered a not guilty plea to suspicion of driving under the influence. Woods’ SUV clipped the back of a trailer and flipped on its side last week on a residential road near his home on Jupiter Island, Florida.

The Ryder Cup decision by the PGA of America was not a surprise given the last five chaotic days involving Woods dating to his Friday arrest.

“The PGA of America stands in full support of Tiger Woods as he steps away to focus on his health and well-being,” the statement said. “We commend Tiger for prioritizing his long-term health and deeply respect the courage it takes to make such a personal decision.”

The PGA of America added that Woods “has shared with us” that he will not be captain.

Woods posted a statement Tuesday night saying that he was stepping away indefinitely “to seek treatment and focus on my health.”

A motion filed Wednesday by his attorney, Douglas Duncan, asked a judge that Woods be allowed to travel outside the country to begin “comprehensive inpatient treatment.”

Duncan said the recommendation from Woods’ doctor was based on the golfer’s “complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised.

JOHNNY MANZIEL REACTS TO TIGER WOODS CRASH IN FLORIDA

“Ongoing medical scrutiny and public exposure create significant barriers to his care and would result in setbacks and an inability to fully engage in treatment.”

Martin County Court Judge Darren Steele approved the motion, which did not say where the inpatient treatment facility was located.

Woods sought treatment at an inpatient facility in a Mississippi clinic in January 2010 after he was caught in a series of extramarital affairs, and his agent said he sought treatment at another inpatient clinic after his 2017 DUI arrest.

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” Woods said in his statement.

Woods also turned down an offer to be Ryder Cup captain last time, waiting until the early summer of 2024 to tell the PGA of America that he did not have the time. That led to Keegan Bradley being selected just over a year before the 2025 matches on New York’s Long Island, which Europe won.

Three players on the Ryder Cup committee — Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Bradley — are playing in the Masters, the first major of the year.

Robert Saleh and Liam Coen bury sign-stealing feud as NFL coaches become divisional rivals

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A fiery postgame interaction over sign-stealing accusations has finally been resolved, Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh said this week.

Saleh, who was the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator at the time, said his beef with Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen is “water under the bridge” after the two got into a fiery spat after a game last season.

The interaction that followed the 49ers’ Week 4 loss to Jacksonville stemmed from Saleh’s comments before the matchup where he complimented Coen’s staff for being good at legal “sign-stealing.”

“They’ve got legally, a really advanced signal-stealing type system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation,” he said at the time.

The remark led to a shouting match after the game in which Coen was caught telling Saleh to, “Keep my name out of your mouth.” Saleh responded by shouting back at Coen, but later explained that he had misspoken when trying to compliment the coach.

“We’re good,” Saleh said during the NFL’s annual league meetings this week. “I know the NFL probably wants more of a story, but there’s no story. I have an appreciation for Liam. Like I said, I used the wrong word when I was trying to give him a compliment, but all that’s water under the bridge.”

Coen echoed that sentiment, adding that “we all respect what we’re doing and how we’re doing it in different ways.”

Raptors lament on ‘tough’ loss to lowly Kings | Globalnews.ca

TORONTO – The disappointment in RJ Barrett’s face was evident.

Brown’s hat trick keeps London Knights alive in 1st-round series against Sault Ste. Marie – London | Globalnews.ca

The Mississauga, Ont., native blankly stared at the statsheet, taking his time before getting his thoughts out. When he walked out of the press conference, he mumbled while shaking his head in disgust.

Barrett led the Toronto Raptors with 20 points in a 123-115 loss to the lowly Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night. The Kings entered the game tied for the NBA’s worst road record at 6-32, while also having the league’s fourth-worst record.

“We’ve been doing well. We have a solid record, but it’s nights like these where this is a game we’re supposed to win no matter what,” he said when asked about the process of a team that hasn’t been on a playoff run together. “Process or no process, we can’t lose this game. Just straight up what it is.”

Toronto, which entered the contest in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, fell to seventh — a play-in spot — due to a tiebreaker with Philadelphia.

The Raptors were coming off a road loss to the East-leading Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night and admittedly came out without the necessary energy. And it showed as Toronto was outrebounded 48-32, giving up 19 offensive rebounds.

“Definitely a tough loss for us,” head coach Darko Rajakovic said. “I think the game was really (about) rebounding. It came down to that they had dominated the glass … we just did not have enough discipline, enough effort to close on those possessions.

“Did a really good job on (DeMar) DeRozan in the first half. But … he can at any point catch fire. He was at two points in the first half, finished the game with 28 … but when you don’t approach the game from the start, with the level of intensity and attention to detail that you need to have, this is the outcome.”

DeRozan and Precious Achiuwa, both former Raptors, were the primary culprits on Sacramento’s end.

DeRozan scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting in the fourth quarter, including the dagger three-pointer with 1:05 left amid a 5-0 personal run that pushed the game out of reach.

Achiuwa had 28 points and 19 rebounds, which included an 11-point, 10-rebound showing in the second quarter alone. He entered play with averages of 9.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

“Can’t let him (do) things like that,” Barrett said of Achiuwa’s stat line. “They had a lot of offensive rebounds tonight. Our fight just wasn’t where it needed to be from the beginning of the game.

“Us being in some early foul trouble kind of made us be less aggressive, but we’ve got to understand that we can’t lose the aggressiveness at that point. We’ve got to stay there, just do it without fouling.”

With six games remaining in the regular season, the Raptors sit just two games ahead of eighth-place Charlotte and 1 1/2 games back of fifth-place Atlanta in a tight race for seeding in the East.

“This loss didn’t create urgency, there’s been urgency,” Barrett said. “And I think that’s part of why tonight is frustrating. It’s because we know what it is, we know how close this race is.

“Especially now after tonight, if we don’t come out and fight with everything that we’ve got for these next couple of games, we’ve got to play like our life depends on it.”

FOX 4 in Dallas obtained the records, which also showed Hill was arrested March 26.

Hill was booked and held on a $3,500 bond connected to two bond-forfeiture warrants from a 2025 criminal investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

“I look forward to seeing and hearing the best fans in college basketball next season at Allen Fieldhouse.”

Self made the decision after consulting with his family, especially considering his health issues in recent seasons.

UCONN MEN’S BASKETBALL HOPING FOR CHAMPIONSHIP TRANSFER MAGIC ONCE AGAIN

Self has dealt with chest tightness and balance concerns, which resulted in a hospitalization in 2013, forcing him to miss the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments. He had two stents placed for treatment of blocked arteries.

In July 2025, Self was admitted to a hospital after feeling ill. He was reportedly experiencing “concerning symptoms,” leading to another surgery to have stents inserted. He was later released from a hospital and coached the Jayhawks this year.

Self did miss a game in January against Colorado, when he was taken to a hospital as a precaution, the school noted at the time.

The Jayhawks fell to St. John’s in the NCAA Tournament, which led reporters to naturally wonder what Self had in mind about his future.

“I’ll get back and visit with the family,” Self said, via ESPN. “I’ve had, obviously, some issues off the court health-wise. And that will be discussed. But I love what I do. I want to feel good while I’m doing it, though.”

Self has been a college basketball head coach since the 1993-94 season, starting his tenure with Oral Roberts. After stops at Tulsa and Illinois, Self joined Kansas for the 2003-04 season, and he hasn’t left since.

Self has won two national championships in his 23 seasons with the Jayhawks, his most recent coming in 2022. Kansas has also reached the Final Four four times under his leadership.

Veach quickly shifted the conversation back to the draft, and then made clear he wouldn’t be sharing any wedding details.

“I’m still in love with this game. I still love going to work and putting on the pads, grinding it out and just playing the game,” Kelce told “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“He’s about to get married. He’s got a lot going on, so I don’t think there’s an element of us not trying to get something done. You need to have some sort of deadline [or] timeline, but, at the same time, he’s Travis Kelce.”

Puka Nacua enters rehab center amid legal issues, antisemitic remark allegations: report

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Los Angeles Rams all-pro wide receiver Puka Nacua has entered a rehab center after some recent off-field issues.

Nacua was recently accused of assault and battery by a woman who alleges he bit her on the shoulder on New Year’s Eve and made an antisemitic remark

Neither Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, nor the Rams, immediately responded to an email for confirmation.

However, the New York Post quoted McCathern as saying, “He was in there a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke with Madison, and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer.”

“The combination of stories ya’ll have run is certainly a contributing factor,” the attorney said, adding that Nacua wants to “improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life that he can do it.”

Plaintiff Madison Atiabi says Nacua bit her and left teeth marks on her shoulder when they were in a van together later in the night, and she claims Nacua also bit her friend’s thumb.

McCathern strongly denied Nacua made any antisemitic statements but described the bites as “horseplay.”

Atiabi and her attorney, Joseph Kar, claim Nacua made an antisemitic exclamation that emotionally distressed her when they were together in Century City.

McCathern said “the whole claim is nothing more than a shakedown attempt” and that the bite “left nothing more than a temporary mark,” according to TMZ.

Nacua apologized for performing an “antisemitic” act on a YouTube stream last last year. Nakua discussed touchdown celebrations on YouTuber Adin Ross’ stream, and, in the video, Ross instructed Nakua to spike the ball, flex and then rub his hands together. Ross, who is Jewish, has referred to the movement as his own “dance” or “emote.”

Many, however, believed the celebration perpetuated a harmful anti-Jewish stereotype. Nacua received overwhelming pushback and issued an apology.
