WWE NXT star Jacy Jayne ready for Stand & Deliver challenge, says she loves to prove people wrong

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Jacy Jayne has been the NXT women’s champion for more than 130 days and has all the belief in the world that her reign will remain intact once Stand & Deliver is finished on Saturday night.

Jayne’s hopes of battling either Kendal Grey or Lola Vice one-on-one vanished on Wednesday as NXT GM Rob Stone announced that she will defend the title in a triple-threat match. Grey and Vice’s match to determine a No. 1 contender ended in controversy as one competitor tapped out and the other was pinned.

To make things right, Stone put both challengers in the match against Jayne at Stand & Deliver.

Jayne told Fox News Digital before the decision was made that it doesn’t matter who she faces, she was confident she was going to come out on top.

“No, because I’ve beaten them both already,” she said when asked if it mattered who she was going to face. “So, I’m going to do the same thing that I’ve done in the past and I’m gonna win and remain your NXT women’s champion.”

Jayne is in her second run as NXT women’s champion. She defeated Tatum Paxley at NXT Gold Rush in November to jumpstart the next reign. She’s one of four women to hold the NXT Women’s Championship at least twice. Roxanne Perez, Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler each accomplishing the feat.

The New Jersey native is relishing the opportunity to be the NXT women’s champion and proving the doubters wrong.

“Well, I feel like I was severely underrated and people doubted me and when I won the title, they were like, ‘What the heck is going on? Why Jacy?’ And I think over the last 10-11 months that I’ve been champion, I’ve proven everybody wrong,” she told Fox News Digital.

“I was always meant for this spot. It was only a matter of time. I was waiting for my right moment and I love to prove people wrong and I love to make grown men cry.”

Mavericks’ Cooper Flagg admits rookie season has been ‘mentally taxing’ amid the team’s struggles

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Cooper Flagg’s first season in the NBA has not gone as planned and the rookie admitted it’s been tough.

Flagg, 19, has had considerable personal success this season and is in contention for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award. However, the Dallas Mavericks have not had much success, as they are 24-52 and nowhere near playoff contention.

“Obviously, it’s been tough. Like you said, you know, through high school, college, I mean, I only lost four games last year. So there have been times of the season where it’s been, you know, really mentally taxing on me,” Flagg said during a recent appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Anthony Davis played just 20 games with the Mavericks before sustaining a hand injury and was eventually traded to the Washington Wizards. Star point guard Kyrie Irving tore his ACL last season and has not played this season.

Flagg hopes that he can look back at the tough times and say he learned from them.

“Just not having success that I would’ve hoped for, and obviously, we’ve had a lot of injuries and a lot of unfortunate things happen throughout the year. It’s obviously not been ideal. I’ve had growth along the way, and I’ve had to get better and learn on the fly, but definitely not the start I would’ve looked for. Hopefully, eventually I’ll be able to look back on it and know that I was able to learn a lot from it,” Flagg said.

Flagg said he was thrown out there and into the fire more than he was expected, but he said it’s helped him develop and become more confident and comfortable.

Tiger Woods handcuffed as deputies discover pills in golfer’s pocket, bodycam footage shows

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Newly released bodycam footage showed the immediate aftermath of the Tiger Woods’ car crash in Florida last week that resulted in the golf legend’s shocking DUI arrest.

Woods was involved in a two-vehicle crash in which his car rolled onto its driver’s side, resulting in him having to escape out of the passenger door.

The 15-time major champion was charged with driving under the influence, despite blowing “triple-zeroes” on a breathalyzer. Woods was found with pills in his pocket, a moment that was captured on camera.

The pills, which were later identified as hydrocodone, a prescription opioid for pain relief, were originally found in Woods’ pocket. Woods previously told law enforcement prior to the field sobriety tests that he underwent seven back surgeries and “over 20 operations on his leg.” He told law enforcement that “I take a few” prescription medications.

In 2021, he got into a wreck that resulted in serious leg injuries that kept him off the golf course for the entire year.

One deputy is shown with her finger in the air as Woods, while hiccupping, tries to follow it with his eyes. Woods was sitting on the bumper of a vehicle while taking the test.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital, deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported observing several signs of impairment at the scene, noting that the golf legend was “sweating profusely” and that his movements appeared “lethargic and slow.” Law enforcement proceeded to perform field sobriety tests because of their suspicions. Woods was instructed to remove his eyeglasses, and the deputy conducting the tests stated that his eyes appeared to be “bloodshot and glassy” and “extremely dilated.”

In one video, Woods, on a knee, told a deputy that he was looking “down on my phone, and all of a sudden, boom.”

The officer then appeared to pat down his back before telling Woods a medic would “check you out.” The officer said he “didn’t feel anything” on Woods’ back. The officer then spoke to a bystander who said Woods “hit the trailer.” The officer then went to the driver who was hit, who said he was fine.

“I was getting ready to turn,” the other driver said. “And he was coming fast. I don’t think he was looking, that’s the thing.”

The driver said Woods hit the trailer that was attached to the back of his vehicle. The officer then directed cars on the road to turn around, as they were set to close the road.

Friday’s arrest marked Woods’ second DUI arrest within the last decade. In 2017, he was taken into custody, also in Jupiter Island, after taking prescription drugs and being asleep behind the wheel of a running car at 3 a.m.

Woods, who may have been vying for his sixth green jacket next week, announced on Tuesday that he would not return to the golf course just yet and instead “seek treatment” after the crash.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” Woods said in a statement Tuesday posted to social media. “I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

Woods pleaded not guilty to DUI. He was also charged with property damage and refusal to submit to a test.

His Land Rover, which landed on its side, is visible in the background.

The officer can also be heard talking to the driver of the vehicle — a truck — that Woods hit.

“Are you OK?” he asks, to which the man replies, “I’m fine.”

According to an earlier incident report, the driver of the truck, who has been identified as 43-year-old Jeromy Bullard, said he noticed a car approaching him at “high speeds” as he was manoeuvring onto a driveway.

The truck sustained about US$5,000 in damage to the rear-left fender and wheel of the trailer, according to the incident report.

Woods was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of an unknown substance and was described by police as “lethargic” after crawling out of the passenger door of his SUV.

Police also noted that the golfer had “glassy” eyes and two white pills in his pocket, which were later determined to be hydrocodone, an opioid prescribed to treat chronic pain. The pills were found inside his left pocket, according to the report. It did not specify if they had been prescribed to Woods.

Authorities charged Woods with driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Both charges are misdemeanours.

Jaden Ivey claims he was cut for preaching Gospel, claims Bulls’ reason for release is a ‘lie’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Former Chicago Bulls player Jaden Ivey maintained that the conduct he showed in going against the NBA’s Pride Month and anti-LGBTQ beliefs was not detrimental to the team.

The Bulls waived Ivey after he posted a rant on social media calling the NBA’s Pride Month “unrighteousness.” Chicago said Ivey committed conduct detrimental to the team.

“My conduct was not detrimental to the team,” he said in an appearance on the “PinPoint Podcast.” “That is a lie. I was a good teammate to those around me. I was a good teammate on the floor. I made the right plays. I did exactly what the coach asked me to do on a daily basis. Whatever was needed, whatever was required of me to do, I was willing. So, my conduct was not detrimental to the team.”

Ivey said he was only cut because he was preaching “the word of God.”

“It is strictly because I spoke the truth of the word of God and was preaching the Gospel,” he continued. “That’s why it was detrimental to the team. I witnessed to many on my team the truth and those things.

“Everyone has their beliefs. Everyone believes in something. If someone can speak and curse and speak about unrighteousness about whatever it may be, then I can speak the truth and that’s because my God says to speak the truth to the lost, to those who don’t know Jesus, to those who are not born again.”

Ivey also said in the podcast he tried to die by suicide multiple times.

“I’m not ashamed to say it. I’m not ashamed to say it because God was merciful to keep me here,” he said. “I almost committed suicide. I had Oxy pills in my hands, and my wife was telling me, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t do this. Don’t go down like this.’ And God was convicting me. And I didn’t know the truth. I didn’t do it by God’s grace. He kept me here.”

Ivey pushed back on the narrative that he’s “crazy.”

“It’s really sad,” he said. “They don’t say to somebody who’s going to clubs, ‘Are you crazy?’ They don’t look to somebody that’s smoking weed, ‘Are you crazy?’ But to be the Christian proclaiming the truth, preaching the Gospel, I’m looked at as crazy and have a mental illness and I’m psycho and I need help and I’m crazy because I love God.
