Deputies shatter Tiger Woods’ back windshield after he requests to keep prized possession, bodycam shows

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

When Tiger Woods crashed his car last Friday, arguably his most prized possession was with him in the trunk: his golf clubs.

Woods’ 2025 Range Rover turned onto its driver’s side in the crash and nearly two hours later, the 15-time major champion was arrested for driving under the influence.

Authorities arrived on the scene and talked with Woods’ manager, Rob McNamara, who said the clubs were extremely important.

“I understand,” a deputy said, as bodycam footage revealed. “Worth more than my house.”

“The putter is worth more than all of our houses,” McNamara replied.

Woods later said that the “sticks” were the only thing he needed, especially the putter, which he “won 14 majors” with. Woods used another putter for the 1997 Masters, his first major victory, which he won by 12 strokes.

TIGER WOODS’ TEAMMATE CALLS GOLFER’S DUI ARREST ‘VERY DISTURBING’

The deputy on camera told a tow employee that there was “expensive s—” in the trunk from a “high-profile person” that needed to be extracted from the vehicle. However, as a result of the crash, the trunk was unable to be opened. So, a member of a local fire department shattered the back windshield, and authorities slipped the clubs through the windshield and gave them to McNamara, keeping them safe and sound.

The clubs were in a Monster Energy branded bag, and his driver was covered with Woods’ notorious tiger cover head.

TIGER WOODS UTTERS SARCASTIC 3-WORD REMARK AFTER GETTING PLACED IN BACK OF COP CAR DURING DUI ARREST

The deputy found one of Woods’ Sun Day Red shirts, which he joked was more than one of his paychecks.

Woods was placed in the vehicle after failing a field sobriety test, taken after he showed “signs of impairment” and was “lethargic.” He blew “triple-zeroes” in a breathalyzer, but after he failed to submit a urine test, he was hit with another charge. Officers found two pills that were later identified as hydrocodone, a prescription opioid used for pain relief.

Woods previously told law enforcement prior to the field sobriety tests that he underwent seven back surgeries and “over 20 operations on his leg.” He told law enforcement that “I take a few” prescription medications. In 2021, he got into a wreck that resulted in serious leg injuries that kept him off the golf course for the entire year.

Woods told officers he was “hoping to” play in the Masters, but in a statement earlier this week, Woods said he would pause his quest to get back on the golf course to “seek treatment.”

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” Woods said in a statement Tuesday posted to social media.

“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

Trump set to sign executive order on college sports to regain control of NIL

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order for college sports this week after hosting a roundtable addressing several hot-button issues last month.

CBS News reported that the order, which would be the second for Trump, could be signed as early as Friday. The outlet added that the order will aim to increase the NCAA’s control over athletes amid the new era of name, image, and likeness.

Last month, Trump hosted NCAA President Charlie Baker, former Alabama head football coach Nick Saban, New York Yankees President Randy Levine and each of the Power Four commissioners, among others at a roundtable. Trump called the roundtable to examine solutions to key challenges, including NCAA authority, NIL issues, collective bargaining, and governance concerns.

“This is the future, I think, beyond college sports. This is the future of colleges,” Trump said to kick off the roundtable. “The amount of money being spent and lost by otherwise very successful schools is astounding just in a short period of time. It’s only going to get worse. We have to save college sports, and, I believe, colleges.

“Crazy things are happening. … We have a seven-year freshman. We’re seeing things we’ve never seen before. College players not wanting to go pro because they make more money in college,” he added.

Trump said he’d write an executive order “based on great common sense.”

SCORE ACT RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM OVER 20 CONSERVATIVE GROUPS AS NIL REFORM FIGHT REVS UP

The SCORE Act was at the forefront of the roundtable. It was scheduled to be voted on in December but the vote was canceled shortly before. The White House endorsed the act, but three Republicans — Byron Donalds of Florida, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania and Chip Roy of Texas — voted with Democrats not to bring the act to the floor. Democrats have largely opposed the bill, urging members of the House to vote against it.

The Act would give the NCAA a limited antitrust exemption in hopes of protecting the NCAA from potential lawsuits over eligibility rules and would prohibit athletes from becoming employees of their schools. It prohibits schools from using student fees to fund NIL payments.

The president’s order from July prohibits athletes from receiving pay-to-play payments from third-party sources. However, the order did not impose any restrictions on NIL payments to college athletes by third-party sources. It also demands that schools account for preserving resources for the non-revenue sports.

A month before Trump’s order, a judge approved a settlement between the NCAA, its most powerful conferences and lawyers representing all Division I athletes. The deal means the NCAA will pay close to $2.8 billion in back damages over the next 10 years to college athletes who competed from 2016 to 2025. The settlement also allows for college programs to pay athletes directly.

Last month, Trump signed an executive order to keep the Army-Navy game a standalone contest.

Dem Senator warns of NFL Draft security risks amid Iran war in letter to DHS

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., penned a letter to the Department of Homeland Security requesting special security accommodations for the upcoming NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.

Fetterman cited concerns amid the ongoing Iran War for his desire for more security.

“I urge the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to elevate the Special Event Assessment Rating (SEAR) for the National Football League’s 2026 Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to ensure the safety of participants and fans at the event. The NFL Draft is one of the most iconic sporting events held each year,” the letter began.

“This is the first time since 1948 that the NFL will host the Draft in Pittsburgh. It is expected to draw well over 700,000 fans to open-air events in Point State Park and Acrisure Stadium, and more than 50 million viewers are expected to tune in to watch the Draft on television or online. Previously, DHS designated the Draft a Level 3 SEAR event, but I urge DHS to elevate it to a Level 2 SEAR event given the changing threat environment in the wake of the war in Iran.

“A Level 2 designation would provide greater coordination and deployment of federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as counter-drone support, K9 units, and intelligence analysis and sharing. Increasing the SEAR designation for the Draft will help ensure that additional resources are deployed to keep participants and fans secure and able to enjoy the Draft without fear.”

President Donald Trump declared Iran is “essentially really no longer a threat” after a 32-day U.S. military campaign, during a primetime address Wednesday.

“I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly. Very shortly, we are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks,” Trump said. “We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing.”

“We are in this military operation … for 32 days,” he added. “And the country has been eviscerated and essentially is really no longer a threat.”

Tiger Woods utters sarcastic 3-word remark after getting placed in back of cop car during DUI arrest

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Bodycam footage obtained by Fox News Digital showed Tiger Woods appearing drowsy, sweaty, and simply out of it when he was arrested on a DUI charge last Friday.

Woods crashed into another vehicle, resulting in his 2025 Range Rover to turn onto its driver’s side. Roughly two hours after escaping through the passenger side door with some assistance, he was placed in the back of a cop car.

It was not the first time Woods was placed in custody for driving under the influence, also doing so in 2017.

Unfortunately for woods, the back of a cop car was unfamiliar territory, and moments after he was placed in the car, he simply uttered three words.

“This is fun,” he groggily and sarcastically said to himself.

President Donald Trump said the five-time Masters champion “lives a life of pain.” Woods dates the mother of Trump’s granddaughter Kai, Vanessa. Vanessa is Donald Jr.’s ex-wife.

“He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. He’s an amazing guy. He’s an amazing athlete. He does have pain,” Trump added Tuesday of Woods. “He doesn’t have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain,” Trump said.

Royals rookie Carter Jensen scratched from lineup after sleeping through his alarm before game: ‘It sucks’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Kansas City Royals veteran catcher Salvador Perez was expecting to DH for his squad in Thursday’s afternoon tilt against the Minnesota Twins.

Unfortunately for the 36-year-old, he had to get back behind the plate after rookie Carter Jensen was unavailable to play catcher for the Royals after sleeping through his alarm.

Jensen was scratched late as the Royals’ starting catcher for the game, but it’s usually an illness or injury that results in such a late change to the lineup. But when Jensen came in for the ninth inning, and was seen catching warmup pitches earlier in the game, reporters were curious.

Jensen, the Royals’ top prospect, didn’t make up an elaborate lie. He slept through his alarm and wasn’t able to get to Kauffman Stadium in time to properly prepare for the game.

“No running from it,” Jensen told reporters, via MLB.com, after a 5-1 loss to the Twins. “Just didn’t wake up to my alarm. Slept through it. Don’t really have an excuse, nor should I. It sucks. Happens. I felt like I let my teammates down, coaches down. Just learn from it and know it won’t happen again.”

TIGERS TOP PROSPECT GOES VIRAL FOR UNFILTERED REACTION TO PIRATES’ SETH HERNANDEZ’S 102 MPH HEATER

Royals manager Matt Quatraro added: “He’s a stand-up guy, a really hard worker, a great kid. He feels terrible. He’s accountable to it. It’s not something that has been a pattern or any of that kind of stuff. Nobody feels worse than he does, and I think he’ll admit to that. And we’ll move on.”

While Quatraro took the high road when asked about Jensen, first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino laid into the rookie in big-brother fashion.

“You got a 36-year-old catcher preparing to DH today and then his world gets a little rocked an hour and a half before the game that he’s not going to be DH-ing,” he told reporters. “Credit to Salvy today for being ready, first and foremost. We’re glad Carter’s OK, right? That was kind of the initial thought when you’re trying to get a hold of his parents and everything like that. But once you find out he’s OK, it’s like, ‘All right, it’s a growing moment.’

“He’s really young. There are some things that cannot happen, and that’s one of them. He’s going to have to wear it on the chin, same way anybody would have to. It can’t happen.”

Pasquantino added the team is “here for him,” but he also believes Jensen should likely invest in “another alarm clock or something.”

Jensen is already ahead of his teammate.

“There’s a lot to learn from it. Making sure if I don’t set one alarm, maybe set three, four, as many as possible. Moving forward, that’s what I’m going to do. Set a million alarms. Make sure I’m up. It stinks, though.”

Jensen is not just the Royals’ top prospect, but the 6-foot, 210-pound catcher is ranked No. 16 overall by MLB Pipeline in 2026.

Battle-tested Oilers ‘buying in’ as playoffs near | Globalnews.ca

EDMONTON – With trips to the last two Stanley Cup finals to their credit, the Edmonton Oilers seem to know when to ramp up their game.

Inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup coming to Edmonton in July | Globalnews.ca

Matthew Savoie scored the winner as the Oilers defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 for their season-high fifth victory in a row Thursday.

Edmonton tied Anaheim for top spot in the Pacific Division with 87 points, looking to win its first divisional title since 1987 — the longest drought in NHL history.

“Everybody just kind of ramped it up with it being close to playoff time and we’re still jostling for a spot and positioning. These games matter and we’re dug in,” said Oilers captain Connor McDavid.

“Just putting the ‘X’ beside our name is the main thing, just getting in, that’s our main focus. Where we’re seeded, I’m not too concerned about it. We can start a series on the road, we can start a series at home, we’re pretty comfortable either way. We just have to get in.”

McDavid saw his goal-scoring streak end at five games, but picked up an assist to extend his point streak to six games, totalling 11 during that stretch. He’s two points ahead of Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov for the NHL scoring lead with 126 on the season.

“The past few weeks we’re really buying in,” said rookie forward Savoie, who has four goals in his last five games and 14 points in his last 18. “We know how important this time of year is and the push we have to make to make the playoffs and give ourselves a really good spot in the seedings.

“Guys know how big a time a year it is and guys are digging in.”

Edmonton is now 29-5-5 when scoring first.

The Oilers are on a strong run even without star forward Leon Draisaitl, out for the rest of the regular season with a lower-body injury.

“It’s just a team game, top to bottom. Missing Leon, nobody’s going to fill that in, we’ve got to do that as a group,” said Henrique. “It’s been a complete effort top to bottom, every line, special teams and in net getting big saves at key times when we need it. It really has been a team effort on this streak and it’s something we need here to the end and obviously through playoffs.”

Henrique’s goal was his third of the season and first goal in 50 games, dating all the way back to Oct. 23.

“As a forward, I’m sure he has the most blocked shots per minute,” said Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch of Henrique’s value to the team. “He had two or three tonight. He’s been snake-bitten, not being able to score goals. Nice to see him score. Everybody was excited.”

Knoblauch said he is pleased with the way the team is playing of late, but doesn’t think trying to end the 40-year drought without a divisional title is top of mind.

“That was long before any of these guys were born. It would make it a little extra special, but right now, as boring as it is, we’re looking at the here and now,” he said.

Story continues below advertisement

“I don’t know if it’s absolutely necessary. Be nice to finish first and put a banner up next fall, but this team, whether at home or road, it responds well. If we get into a Game 7, maybe it would be (important), but we’re just trying to play as well as possible.”

Tristan Jarry recorded 17 saves to earn the win for Edmonton.

The Blackhawks (27-35-14) were eliminated from playoff contention for the sixth straight season with a fifth consecutive loss.

Key stat

McDavid saw his goal-scoring streak end at five games, but picked up an assist to extend his point streak to six games, totalling 11 during that stretch. McDavid is two points ahead of Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov for the NHL scoring lead.
