New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson was solid in his first start of the season against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He pitched 5.1 innings and gave up zero earned runs.

However, he struck out only three hitters, and there is a good chance that the trend will versus the San Francisco Giants.
#4: Robbie Ray over 6.5 strikeouts -118
The San Francisco Giants’ Robbie Ray is coming off a strong 2025 season. He is once again an important member of the team’s starting rotation.
Ray did not have the best of starts to the campaign, giving up two earned runs in 5.1 innings to the New York Yankees. However, he could have more success against the Mets on Thursday.

Kansas City Royals lefty Cole Ragans tops the list. Although he gave up four earned runs in four inning to the Atlanta Braves in his first appearance of the season, he struck out five.

He could get a few more Ks if he stays in Thursday’s game longer.
