Police say Harvey’s family provided DNA samples in 2018 to a newly launched RCMP-led missing persons program.

In 2025, a forensic dentist was able to connect Harvey’s case with the unidentified homicide victim and followup tests by the Quebec coroner’s office confirmed the match.

Police say detectives determined the person believed to be responsible for her killing died in 1979.

The jury also found Arora guilty of attempted murder of his eldest daughter and of strangulation of his wife, Rama Rani Arora, who survived the attack.

In a written admission at the beginning of the trial, the accused admitted to drowning his youngest children, but his lawyers argued the acts were not premeditated and he was experiencing a relapse of depression first diagnosed in 2020.

The Crown had maintained the evidence pointed to a well-thought-out plan to commit the crimes.

They were expected to appear virtually at the courthouse in Joliette, Que., northeast of Montreal.

The arrests come after a March 2025 raid by provincial police on a clandestine document production lab on Chabanel Street in Montreal.

At the time, police seized 1,000 forged documents and the equipment required to make them.

Police say items seized included driver’s licences, Canadian residency cards, Quebec health insurance cards, debit and credit cards, and social insurance cards.

Authorities say the forged documents were high quality and difficult to detect without the use of specialized equipment.

The teen is expected to appear in court in Quebec City on Feb. 6 to face a charge of participation in the activity of a terrorist group.

The federal government describes Atomwaffen Division as a militant neo-Nazi terror group that calls for acts of violence against racial, religious and ethnic groups.

It was founded in the United States in 2015 and has since expanded, and has been listed as a terrorist entity in Canada since 2021.

An Ottawa man was sentenced in September to 10 years in prison for the promotion of hate propaganda against Jewish people that was produced for the group.
