Nancy Guthrie investigators find black glove near her home that looks just like one worn by abductor in terrifying doorbell camera footage

Investigators have discovered a black glove near Nancy Guthrie’s home that looks similar to the one her abductor wore in the chilling doorbell camera footage.

The item was recovered by detectives about one and a half miles from the 84-year-old’s home on Wednesday, the 10th day into the search for her.

The Daily Mail understands the lone glove, found lying in a small shrub, was bagged up and taken by authorities. They did not give a definitive answer on who it belonged to.

On Tuesday, the FBI released shocking footage of a masked man wearing thick latex gloves as he tried to obscure the camera on Nancy’s front porch. That clip was the latest development in the missing persons case in over a week.

The latest evidence retrieval comes as TMZ received a third ransom note earlier in the day, demanding one Bitcoin in exchange for information on Nancy’s kidnapping.

Nancy, the beloved mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 after returning home from dinner and a game night with her other daughter, Annie.

She was reported missing on February 1 after her church friends grew worried when she failed to show up for services. Nancy has not been seen or heard from since.

TMZ received the fresh note before 5am Pacific Time, and said the correspondence stated the sender has tried unsuccessfully to get in contact with Camron Guthrie, Nancy’s son, and Annie, her eldest daughter.

In the message, the sender reportedly said they had information on the identity of the suspect who was seen at Nancy’s $1milion Tucson home the night she vanished.

‘If they want the name of the individual involved then I want 1 Bitcoin to the following wallet. Time is more than relevant,’ the note allegedly read.

The Bitcoin address listed in the note is reportedly legitimate and different from the one in an original ransom note that TMZ and two local news stations in Arizona also received.

TMZ host Harvey Levin appeared on Fox News Channel’s America’s Newsroom earlier on Wednesday to confirm the outlet had received the third letter.

‘An hour and a half ago, we got, kind of a bizarre letter, an email from somebody who says they know who the kidnapper is and that they have tried reaching Savannah’s sister Annie and Savannah’s brother, to no avail,’ he said.

‘And they said they want one Bitcoin sent to a Bitcoin address that we have confirmed is active.

‘It’s a real Bitcoin address, and as they put it, time is more than relevant. So we have no idea whether this is real or not. But they are making a demand,’ he added.

The latest note came after the Pima County Sheriff’s Department detained a man for questioning in connection with Nancy’s disappearance.

Delivery driver Carlos Palazuelos, the man taken into custody, later declared his innocence and revealed he had been questioned for hours on Tuesday night and into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It is unclear why police focused on Palazuelos, but it came hours after authorities released the first surveillance images of a suspect seen lurking near Nancy’s home on January 31, the night she was taken.

The suspect was seen in an all black outfit, including a mask, backpack and black gloves. Police have yet to identify who the person in the camera is.

The device was missing by the time sheriff’s deputies arrived that morning.

After his release around 1am local time, Palazuelos said he didn’t know about Nancy’s kidnapping.

‘They told me I was being detained for kidnapping. I asked them, “Kidnapping of who?”,’ he told KNXV after he was set free.

Federal authorities said they were looking at more than one ‘person of interest’ after receiving a deluge of tips following the release of doorbell camera footage.

FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News that the bureau’s outreach to the private sector has shown ‘there might be persons of interest in and around the area related to this event.’

Patel did not elaborate on who may be under suspicion, but said authorities were working to eliminate anyone who might not actually be involved.

He added that the agency’s first priority was finding Nancy and ‘right behind that is to find any others involved in this kidnapping case to make sure they’re brought to justice.’

TMZ is one of three outlets that received alleged ransom notes in connection with Nancy’s abduction.

Unidentified sources involved in the investigation had earlier told the outlet that officers believe the ransom notes that were sent to the networks were, in fact, written by the kidnapper.

The notes also reportedly provide clues on where the suspect lives, with sources noting that the person who sent the letters was intimately familiar with the media in Tucson, and included specific references to damage at Nancy’s home and the placement of some of her possessions – details that have not been shared with the public.

After spending time with her daughter and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, on January 31,  Nancy was driven back home by her son-in-law.

By 1.47am, Nancy’s doorbell camera was disconnected, with the newly released footage showing the suspect ripping the camera from its holder on the door frame.

Another video released by officials showed the masked individual attempting to cover the lens with a clenched fist, then searching the area around the door, ripping a bunch of flowers from the entranceway, and waving them at the camera.

Less than 30 minutes later, her security camera detected movement. Her pacemaker stopped transmitting data to her Apple Watch and phone shortly afterwards, suggesting she had been taken out of the devices’ range.

Since her disappearance, Savannah and her siblings have taken to social media pleading for their mother’s safe return home. They continue to hold onto hope that she is still out there.

Toxic drugs ‘an epidemic,’ Saskatoon fire battalion chief says on ride-along – Saskatoon | Globalnews.ca

As we piled into Saskatoon Fire Department Battalion Chief Dwayne Jobson’s truck, we set out to learn more about how the growing toxic drug crisis is causing devastation in Saskatoon.

Toxic drugs ‘an epidemic,’ Saskatoon fire battalion chief says on ride-along – Saskatoon | Globalnews.ca

Jobson took Global News on a ride-along to get a look at the crisis first-hand. A call came through for a response to an overdose within a few minutes of driving through the city.

Paramedics and firefighters were at the scene as we hopped out of the car.

“A lot of it comes down to what drug is on board. Sometimes it can come out of it fairly quickly, within seconds, and other times it takes a long time,” Jobson said.

While there are no official stats for 2026, he says the department is averaging around five to six drug-related calls per day.

“The ones that are reported, there’ll be lots that go unreported because they have their own kits with them sometimes, so the group they’re with will administer the Narcan or naloxone and then it doesn’t get reported,” Jobson said.

In 2025, the department responded to an average of 6.8 overdoses daily. That number peaked at this time last year when a deadly drug supply pushed it above 30.

“During that time frame, there were a lot of drug alerts that came out that gave us some detail on what was in the pills that were being taken,” Jobson said.

Jobson said he is worried something similar might happen again this year following two recent drug alerts in Saskatoon for medetomidine, a naloxone-resistant veterinary sedative.

“Whenever you have drug alerts that come out with that sort of information, it really poses a danger to anyone that may be a drug user and knowing that it’s going to be a little tougher to have a better outcome at times.”

Jobson says things have changed over his three-plus decades on the job.

“Back when I first started, there was really no such thing as an overdose. We’d have issues with alcohol and a few party drugs, as they would say. By now, with the pill crisis, it’s an epidemic,” Jobson said.

He says part of the reason for the increase is the city’s growing population.

To meet the new demand, the city has recently approved two new stations and the hiring of 20 new firefighters for one of the stations.

Nancy Guthrie’s family say they do NOT recognize masked figure filmed night of abduction as investigators are seen searching bushes near daughter and son-in-law’s home

Nancy Guthrie’s family has said they do not recognize the terrifying masked figure caught on camera outside her home as investigators started combing through bushes near her daughter Annie’s home.

Federal officers finally released doorbell camera footage from the home of Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother on Tuesday, after ten days without any leads into the 84-year-old’s disappearance.

The images show an armed figure clad in a ski mask and carrying a backpack, wearing black latex gloves. The suspect can also be seen tampering with the mother-of-three’s Nest doorbell camera.

In the footage, the suspect rips the camera from its holder on the door frame. The device was missing by the time sheriff’s deputies arrived that morning.

The individual also attempts to cover the lens with a clenched fist, then searches the area around the door before ripping a bunch of flowers from the entranceway and waving them at the camera.

Nancy’s three children have since said they do not recognize the suspect in the video and are pleading with the public for help catching the kidnapper, NBC News reports.

‘We believe she is still alive,’ Today Show host Savannah Guthrie wrote as she shared the images to Instagram. ‘Bring her home.’

Just hours after the disturbing footage was released, officers were seen going door-to-door in the neighborhood around Annie Guthrie and her husband Tommaso Cioni’s home, also asking nearby businesses for surveillance footage.

Other agents were seen searching a junkyard, bushes behind Annie and Tommaso’s home as well as another house at the far end of their street.

Neighbor John Grove even told the Daily Mail that investigators asked to search a dry river bed on his property.

‘The cops wanted to know if they could go through that wash next to my house – I said they could,’ he recounted. ‘I asked if it was related to the kidnapping and they said “We can’t tell you that.”

‘They’re playing their cards close to their chest,’ Grove added.

‘I just hope she didn’t get into any difficulties around here – it’s very harsh terrain,’ he said. ‘We had a guy the other day who just moved here and got lost and died.

‘For someone like her, well, it wouldn’t end well.’

Annie and Tommaso were the last people to see Nany before her disappearance on January 31, after she went to their house for dinner.

Tommaso then dropped her back off at her house at around 9.48pm and her garage door closed at approximately 9.50pm, according to police.

By 1.47am, Nancy’s doorbell camera was disconnected, with the newly released footage showing the suspect ripping the camera from its holder on the door frame.

Another video released by officials showed the individual attempting to cover the lens with a clenched fist, then searching the area around the door, ripping a bunch of flowers from the entranceway, and waving them at the camera.

Another clip shared by the FBI showed the individual hunched over as they made their first approach to the door, bowing their head.

The terrifying footage was finally recovered on Tuesday after FBI agents and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department conducted a deep dive into Nest’s backend systems, as Nancy did not have a Nest subscription – which would have automatically uploaded the images and saved them to a cloud storage platform.

Savannah Guthrie has since shared the haunting stills on Instagram, saying: ‘We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.’

Nancy was reported missing after failing to attend a virtual church service with friends, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said.

Since then, law enforcement has continued to comb over the home, which sits on a large lot on a street with no lights, while Guthrie and her two siblings, Annie and Camron, plead for help in finding their mother.

Annie and Tomaso have said they realized Nancy was missing around 11.10am last Sunday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said.

They reported her disappearance to police at 12.15pm. Her phone, wallet, vital daily medications and car were still at her Catalina Foothills home.

Cioni said he saw his mother-in-law enter her home through the garage before driving off the night before at around 9:45pm MT.

Investigators found drops of blood on Nancy’s front porch that were later confirmed to be hers and that her doorbell camera was disconnected at around 1.45am.

Less than 30 minutes later, her security camera detected movement. Her pacemaker stopped transmitting data to her Apple Watch and phone shortly afterwards, suggesting she had been taken out of the devices’ range.

Nancy requires medication every 24 hours and it is unclear if whoever abducted her has ensured she has access to her medication.

A ransom note sent to multiple news outlets last week set an initial deadline of Thursday evening and a final deadline of Monday evening.

The notes are said to have made specific reference to damage to Nancy’s home and the placement of a possession, both details that have not been shared with the public.

It is unclear if those specific pieces of information were accurate.

Guthrie said she and her family were taking the demands seriously but there has been no official update on whether the notes’ contents have been verified and if their senders really are holding Nancy captive.

Efforts to negotiate with the alleged captors also stalled, as a digital wallet referenced in the first letter for a potential transaction remained empty, according to TMZ, which was sent a copy of the note.

Once the payment was made, the alleged kidnappers claimed they would return Nancy to Tucson within 12 hours, the outlet reported.

After Monday’s deadline passed, the FBI said it ‘is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers.’

The bureau is now leading all elements of the investigation in connection with Nancy’s kidnapping, including alleged ransom notes.

Cabinet bounced into giving PM ‘a stay of execution’: Ministers back Starmer after 24 hours of silence as markets wobble in wake of Scottish Labour chief telling Sir Keir ‘go now’… amid war with Wes

Keir Starmer was clinging to power this evening after the Cabinet gave him a late stay of execution.

The Prime Minister was rocked when the Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar dramatically called on him to resign for the good of the country in the wake of the Mandelson scandal.

Mr Sarwar, once an ally of Sir Keir, said there had been ‘too many mistakes’ in Downing Street.

‘I have to be honest about failure wherever I see it,’ he said. ‘The distraction has to end, the leadership has to change.’

Mr Sarwar told the PM of his move in advance, triggering panic in No 10 and sparking a major rescue operation.

One Labour source said ministers were told to voice their support for the PM by the end of the day or face the sack.

Sir Keir was already reeling from the departure of his chief of staff Morgan McSweeney on Sunday, who was followed out of the door by his communications director Tim Allan this morning.

And Cabinet Secretary Sir Chris Wormald was this evening on the brink of joining the Downing Street exodus – just a year after Sir Keir appointed him.

Cabinet ministers had refused to publicly back the embattled Prime Minister for more than 24 hours after Mr McSweeney’s dramatic departure. Private discussions were held about the possibility of replacing him with an interim leader such as Defence Secretary John Healey.

But, with leadership rivals not ready to make their move and financial markets wobbling over the prospect of a chaotic contest, they finally bowed to No 10’s demands to issue public statements of support.

In a belated flurry of posts on social media, which began as Mr Sarwar got to his feet, every member of the Cabinet gave the Prime Minister their broad support.

And in a defiant address to Labour MPs later, Sir Keir vowed to battle on, saying: ‘Every fight I’ve ever been in, I have won.’

On another dramatic day in Westminster:

  • Allies of Health Secretary Wes Streeting claimed No 10 had falsely accused him of being in league with Mr Sarwar at the very moment he was recording a TV interview backing the PM
  • Mr Streeting published details of his email exchanges with Peter Mandelson in a bid to draw a line under claims by leadership rivals that his ambitions will be derailed by their past friendship
  • Messages revealed that Mr Streeting moaned privately about Labour’s performance, including complaining the Government has ‘no growth strategy at all’
  • Details emerged of a ‘Rayner for Leader’ website apparently launched by supporters of the former deputy PM and accidentally set live, briefly, last month
  • A Find Out Now poll of 2,000 voters found the public want Sir Keir to resign by a margin of 50:22.

Sir Keir started the day isolated after agreeing the departure of Mr McSweeney, who is credited for masterminding Labour’s landslide election victory in 2024.

No 10 was initially unable to persuade ministers to take to the airwaves to defend the PM amid public revulsion at his decision to appoint Lord Mandelson as ambassador to the US despite knowing he had remained friends with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein following his conviction for child sex offences.

But Mr Sarwar’s intervention forced senior Labour figures to make a snap decision to either back the PM or move against him.

None of Sir Keir’s likely successors, including Angela Rayner and Mr Streeting, are confident of winning an immediate battle – and Labour sources said there was strong opposition within the party to triggering a contest before vital local elections in May.

This evening, Ms Rayner denied any links to the website, with her team dismissing it as a ‘fake’ that had neither been commissioned by her, nor with her knowledge, while one ally described it as a ‘false flag’ operation. Ms Rayner and Mr Streeting’s decision to back down gives Sir Keir some breathing space to try to regain control of the Government which has been hit with a wave of anger over the Mandelson scandal.

However, Labour MPs warned that Sir Keir could still be forced out if the party loses a looming by-election in Manchester this month or suffers a wipeout in May, when Scottish and Welsh parliamentary elections will be held alongside a major round of council elections in England.

Veteran Labour MP Graham Stringer said the PM ‘cannot survive this amount of chaos’, adding: ‘I think we have to wait and see the [election] results… that will give Labour MPs time to sort through what is the right process.’

Labour MP Peter Lamb urged the PM to name his departure date now. Writing in The House magazine, he said: ‘He can wait until May and force the country to endure the chaos of removing a sitting PM… or he can act now.’

Ministers also warned the PM that he would have to make radical changes to survive. Technology Secretary Liz Kendall backed him to stay to ‘steady the ship’, but added: ‘We also need to change course.’

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson acknowledged that the Government had ‘made mistakes’ but insisted Sir Keir would still be Prime Minister by the summer.

In his address to the Labour Party this evening, the PM insisted he wanted to stay to take on Nigel Farage at the next election.

‘Having fought so hard for the chance to change our country, I’m not prepared to walk away from my mandate and my responsibility, or to plunge us into chaos, as others have done,’ he said.

Sir Keir went on to describe the battle with Reform UK as the ‘fight of our lives, the fight of our times’.

He added: ‘I’ll tell you this, as long as I have breath in my body, I’ll be in that fight, on behalf of the country that I love and I believe in, against those that want to tear it up.’

Amy Winehouse’s love rival who married singer’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is found dead at home – as police probe ‘unexplained’ death

A love rival of Amy Winehouse who married the late singer’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil has been found dead at home in circumstances described as unexplained.

Sarah Aspin, 47, began dating Fielder-Civil after the collapse of his marriage to the Back To Black star Winehouse who later died in 2011.

The couple are reported to have split in 2018, having had two children together.

Sarah’s daughter Melody-Rose Hampshire has written online: ‘No words at all. Love you so mum.

‘May you rest in eternal peace my beautiful mum.

‘Doesn’t seem real. Just want you here and speak to you about your crazy antics.’

Police were called to the home of Ms Aspin ‘following a concern for safety report’.

Neighbours said police swarmed her flat in Swillington, Leeds, on Saturday at about 8am.

Amy Winehouse’s love rival who married singer’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is found dead at home – as police probe ‘unexplained’ death

Sarah Aspin (pictured), 47, been found dead at a home in Leeds – police are investigating

Sarah met Blake at rehab around 2009 before he continued his relationship on and off with Amy in 2010, reports claim.

They had a son who was born in May 2011 before Blake was jailed for burglary and possession of a firearm in June 2011.

He later got back with Sarah and had another child, a daughter, in April 2013, according to reports.

Neighbours today said the woman who died was Sarah, Blake’s ex. But it is understood Sarah as in a relationship with another man when she died.

It is understood a person was arrested, but not in relation to the death.

One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: ‘I was passing by the flat at around 8am on Saturday.

‘That’s when I saw the police swarming the property and I thought to myself, something was up.

‘Sarah lived in that house alone but a man I believed to be her partner would often go round.

‘I went past again at 12pm and I saw a body bag being carried out of the house.

‘They hadn’t put up a cordon or tape or anything. It just seemed like they were searching the house. It is unclear what has happened, but it is tragic.’

Several other neighbours confirmed seeing emergency services at the flat over the weekend before they left yesterday evening.

A neighbour said: ‘She once knocked on my door asking for cheese. I know she has knocked on others asking for eggs and a pan.’

Another neighbour said: ‘What has happened is sad. It has rocked the community, it is a nice, quiet area.’ We have lots of elderly residents, and young families.

‘We are all friendly, we feel safe living here. Seeing police like that isn’t a common sight.’

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: ‘Police are continuing enquiries following the death of a woman at a property in the Swillington area of Leeds.

‘Officers were called to an address in Primrose Hill Drive at 6.38am on Saturday, 7 February, following a concern for safety report.

‘A woman was treated by paramedics at the scene but died a short time later.

‘Her death is currently being treated as unexplained.’

The 35 Britons on Trump’s ‘worst of the worst’ list of illegal immigrants… as he deports more back to the UK than Afghanistan or Iraq

Donald Trump is sending 35 criminal illegal aliens back to the UK amid his immigration crackdown that triggered shockwaves across America and the world.

The Britons feature on a list of shame dubbed the ‘worst of the worst’ drawn up and published by Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

It means more ‘worst of the worst’ criminals are being deported back to the UK from America than to Afghanistan or Iraq. There are 19 Afghans on the list, and 31 Iraqis.

A Daily Mail analysis of the countries of origin of the ‘worst of the worst’ illegal migrants also shows more are being sent back to the UK than France, Germany and Italy combined.

France is receiving nine, Germany eight, and Italy 10.

Offenses committed by the Britons include homicide, drug trafficking, sexual exploitation of minors, fraud, and making bomb threats.

Those on the list include three British women.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said more than half of the 35 British criminals – 22 of them – had already been deported.

She told the Daily Mail: ‘If you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the US.

‘The 35 criminal illegal aliens from the UK listed on the Worst of the Worst website [have] criminal histories including multiple counts of homicide, enticement of a minor, lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, robbery, assault, aggravated assault, weapons offenses, and drug trafficking.

’22 of these criminal illegal aliens have already been removed from the US.

‘Under President Trump’s and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s leadership, DHS has already removed more than 700,000 illegal aliens.’

It comes as Trump, Noem and ICE are embroiled in turmoil in the wake of the recent fatal shootings of protesters Renee Good and Alex Pretti by immigration agents in Minneapolis.

The ‘worst of the worst’ list – which is expected to grow – reflects the approach of Trump’s border czar Tom Homan, who has been at odds with Noem over how best to enforce the president’s immigration policies.

Noem pursued a strategy of high-profile raids to round up as many illegal immigrants as possible, sometimes joining operations herself in tactical gear and taking TV cameras along.

Homan has argued for a more targeted approach to capture and deport the ‘worst of the worst’ illegal alien criminals – like the ones featured on the list of shame.

In the wake of the fatal ICE shootings Trump sent Homan to Minneapolis to ‘fix’ the problem there.

Homan subsequently confirmed that future immigration operations would be ‘targeted’ against specific individuals.

The list of shame so far also features 25 criminals from Russia and 34 from Ukraine.

There are 137 from China, 347 from Venezuela, and 62 from Somalia, according to an analysis by the Daily Mail.

In total, the number of illegal aliens so far featured on the ‘worst of the worst’ list was 20,249 as of January 28.

The country with by far the most citizens on it is Mexico with 9,739.

The 35 UK-origin criminals represent only a portion of the total removals to the UK under Trump’s widespread immigration crackdown.

‘Under Secretary Kristi Noem’s leadership, the hardworking men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations – starting with the worst of the worst – including the illegal aliens you see here,’ it says.

Noem is currently under heavy pressure over her handling of the Good and Pretti shootings.

She called Good, an unarmed mother, a ‘domestic terrorist,’ and suggested Pretti was ‘brandishing’ a gun, which videos from the scene showed he was not.

On Monday, Trump held a two-hour meeting with her in the Oval Office before sending Homan to Minneapolis, but the president has said she will stay in her job.
