Mike Tindall and his mates start charity bike ride to rugby match in honour of former star Ed Slater as he fights motor neurone disease

Mike Tindall and his rugby mates have set off on a charity bike ride to to raise money for their fellow former rugby player Ed Slater who has Motor Neuron Disease (MND).

Fellow rugby legend Martin Johnson CBE will go go head-to-head against Mike in a team cycle race.

They are cycling approximately 45 miles from their respective home stadiums to Villa Park – where a Slater Cup rugby match is set to be played today.

Mike will be racing from Gloucester’s Kingsholm and Martin will set off from Leicester’s Welford Road.

The Slater Cup was created in honour of former Gloucester and Leicester Tigers player Ed Slater following his diagnosis with MND in July 2022.

It is contested between Ed’s two former teams every season and this year marks the first time it will be played outside of a rugby ground when roughly 40,000 fans travel to Aston Villa’s home ground later today.

Both teams are raising money for the 4ED Foundation. The charity was set up by Ed Slater following his diagnosis to support people affected by MND with much needed support, including adaptations to homes, days out for carers and mental health support.

So far the 4ED foundation have raised £28,531 of their £100,000 goal.

Mike previously said: MND is a horrible disease and it’s been really difficult to witness how it’s impacted Ed and his family, as well as others in the rugby community.

‘What has been very special to see is how the community has united through it all, most recently with the news about my good friend and former teammate, Lewis. It will be a privilege to represent both Leicester Tigers and the wider rugby community as part of The Race to The Slater Cup next year.’

Ed spoke of how honoured he felt that ‘two absolute legends of the game’ were taking part in the challenge.

He said: ‘Both Gloucester and Leicester mean a huge amount to me and I’m forever grateful to the support they’ve shown me and my family, particularly over the past three years.

‘While my name is in the title of The Slater Cup, it’s about so much more than me; it’s about raising awareness of this cruel disease and funds to support people impacted by it. I’m sure with the weight of Tinds, Johnno and others, we can make a big difference to the MND community.’

Who are the Houthis? Yemen’s rebels joining war against US in the Middle East

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have joined the conflict in the Middle East, launching a missile bound for Israel.

It marks the first time the country has involved itself in the war, which began one month ago today after the US and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury.

Strikes have covered the region ever since, with Trump targeting Tehran while Iran launches strikes at US military bases.

Now, a military spokesman for the Houthis said they are prepared to join the war on behalf of Iran after the US and Israel targeted power and nuclear sites.

This is not the first time they have involved themselves in conflict in the region.

Two years ago the breakaway faction repeatedly launched drones and missiles against commercial vessels, claiming to be attacking Israeli ships in support of Palestine.

It accused the West of ‘blatant aggression’ and after airstrikes on Friday hit dozens of targets, vowing to respond with ‘punishment or retaliation’.

Britain has walked a tightrope over Yemen’s civil war for the last decade – keep reading to find out who’s involved and why some fear the situation could escalate into a full-blown war in the region.

Who are the Houthi rebels?

The Houthi movement is a political and military group that follows a minority strand of Islam called Zaydism, and draws its name from an ancient Arab tribe from northern Yemen called the Houthis.

Following rising instability in the wake of the Arab Spring, they seized control of the Yemeni capital of Sana’a in 2014, sparking one of the deadliest civil wars in recent history – which is still ongoing today.

Yemen’s official government, recognised by most countries including the UK, is backed by a Saudi-led coalition which Britain has supplied with weapons.

Both sides are widely believed to have carried out war crimes and atrocities against civilians, overseeing some of the worst humanitarian conditions in the world.

The Houthis are currently in control over almost all of northern Yemen, although much of the country has been devastated, with a death toll of over 150,000.

Have the Houthis been involved in conflict before?

Houthi forces launched dozens of drone and missile strikes on commercial vessels two years ago following the Israel-Hamas war on October 7.

The faction’s goal was ‘prevent Israeli ships from navigating the Arab and Red Seas in support of the oppressed Palestinian people’.

In reality, though, almost all the targets were international trading ships – some making port in Israel, many simply passing through to other parts of the world.

One of the first incidents – when the Houthis hijacked what they claimed was an Israeli cargo ship in November – actually involved a British-owned ship run by a Japanese firm and staffed by crew from all around the world.

More recently, a Houthi spokesperson said any ship destined for Israel is a ‘legitimate target’. The UN’s shipping watchdog has since confirmed that the Houthis are continuing to attack ships with no links to Israel whatsoever.

Who supports the Houthis?

Yemeni men brandish their weapons and hold up portraits of Huthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi during a protest in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Huthi-controlled Yemeni capital Sanaa on January 5, 2024, amid the ongoing battles between Israel and the militant Hamas group in Gaza. Heavy air strikes pounded rebel-held cities in Yemen early on January 12, 2024, the Huthi rebels' official media and AFP correspondents said. The capital Sanaa, Hodeida and Saada were all targeted, the Huthis' official media said, blaming "American aggression with British participation". Yemen’s Houthis are backed by Iran, which began increasing its aid to the group in 2014 as the civil war broke out.

Iran’s theocratic government follows the Shia branch of Islam, of which the Houthi’s Zaydist belief system is a strand.

Iran has given the militants training and an array of sophisticated weapons and military technology, with the alleged help of Lebanon’s Hezbollah terrorist group.

The West has accused Iran of involvement in the Red Sea attacks two years ago and ordering the Houthis and other Middle Eastern militias to carry out their attacks on Israel, which Iran denies.

The UN Panel of Experts on Yemen previously found that Iran has ‘failed to take the necessary measures to prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer’ of various ballistic missiles that the Houthis have deployed against all the vessels.

Missile fired at UAE from Yemen as Houthi rebels join the war and US troops wounded in Iranian strikes on Saudi – live updates

Missile fired at UAE from Yemen as Houthi rebels join the war and US troops wounded in Iranian strikes on Saudi – live updates

Houthis confirm attack on Israel and say strikes to continue until ‘aggression’ ends

Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels have now confirmed that they launched an attack on Israel for the first time during the current Israeli-US war against Iran.

It marks their entry to the conflict and raises the prospects of a broader regional confrontation, as well as an increased threat to shipping in the region.

Israel earlier said it was working to intercept a missile from Yemen.

The group said the attack with a barrage of missiles came after continued targeting of infrastructure in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories, adding that their operations would continue until the ‘aggression’ on all fronts ends.

On Friday, Brig Gen Saree, a military spokesman for the Houthis, issued a pre-recorded statement outlining several ways the rebels could join the war on behalf of Iran.

‘We affirm that our fingers are on the trigger for direct military intervention in any of the following cases,’ Saree said. They included the ‘continuation of the escalation against the Islamic Republic and the Axis of Jihad and Resistance, as dictated by the theatre of military operations.’

The group has now said it will remain in the conflict until all its goals are met.

Met Police trawling through CCTV on the street where Morgan McSweeney’s mobile phone was stolen to ‘establish the facts’

The Metropolitan Police has started trawling through CCTV on the street where Morgan McSweeney reported his phone was stolen to ‘establish the facts’.

Mr McSweeney, who was the prime minister’s chief of staff at the time, reported that a ‘government device’ had been stolen on October 20 last year.

Police took the rare step of releasing details of the 999 call following criticism that it did not fully investigate the theft.

It suggests Mr McSweeney did not identify himself or flag the potential security risks – although he did state it was a Government mobile.

CCTV was also not checked due to a mix-up over the name of the street in which Mr McSweeney said he had been mugged just before 10.30pm.

Scotland Yard has revealed it did not follow up on the incident at the time because there were no ‘realistic’ lines of inquiry.

Officers are only now going through publicly available CCTV and other footage from Belgrave Road in Pimlico as part of the review.

The Government phone was apparently wiped remotely and replaced with another device the next day.

It is understood that the Cabinet Office does have a record of some of the messages between Mr McSweeney and Mandelson.

The Tories said the situation ‘stinks to high heaven’ and demanded a full explanation of why at least some of the messages do not appear to have been backed up.

Shadow Cabinet Office minister Alex Burghart said: ‘We know the government were worried about a humble address in October, shortly before McSweeney’s phone got ‘stolen’.

‘McSweeney didn’t back up the messages and the government didn’t chase the Met for CCTV.

‘From the outset of the Mandelson affair Keir Starmer has tried to cover things up.

‘The Prime Minister did it in September with ”I didn’t know the depth of the relationship”.

‘He didn’t want to release the Mandelson files in February until we forced the Humble Address.

‘Now the Chief of Staff’s phone goes missing and there doesn’t seem to be any intent to get it back or retrieve the messages. Starmer needs to end this cover up now.’

Pictured: Belgrave Road, in Pimlico, central London, where the phone theft took place last autumn

The latest details emerged after a Cabinet minister blamed a ‘cock-up’ for exchanges with Mandelson being lost.

Wes Streeting dismissed allegations of a ‘cover-up’, arguing Mr McSweeney could not have known the Commons would order them to be published.

Mr McSweeney quit Downing Street last month, saying he took full responsibility for the appointment of Mandelson.

The force suggested that because Mr McSweeney did not identify himself the potential ‘security risks’ could not have ‘reasonably’ shaped decisions on how to handle the case.

Officers are said to have tried to call the senior adviser twice the following day, without getting a reply.

CCTV was also reviewed, but because of the confusion around the location nothing turned up. Footage is now being ‘revisited’ using the correct location.

Kemi Badenoch raised the issue of messages going missing at PMQs in the Commons this week.

In a reference to Sir Keir’s previous legal role, she swiped: ‘I wonder what a director of public prosecutions would make of the defence, “sorry, I can’t produce my WhatsApps, my phone’s been stolen”.’

The Daily Mail has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.

Future remains uncertain for Montreal tenants two months after evacuation – Montreal | Globalnews.ca

It’s been two months since Lhea Noble was forced to leave her home at 4310 Old Orchard in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. She’s among about about two dozen tenants who still have no idea when they’ll be able to go back.

Future remains uncertain for Montreal tenants two months after evacuation – Montreal | Globalnews.ca

“For it to have been two months now with no concrete news is a bit stressful,” Noble said in an interview.

On Jan. 22, an emergency evacuation ordered by the city of Montreal forced tenants out of the century-old building.

City officials had seen an inspection report by engineering consulting firm ORTAM that called the condition of the structure critical, and called for an immediate evacuation.

Adam Checroune, the author of the November 2025 report, explains that the building had several problems when the new owners “Elfaco Management Inc.” bought it last year.

Story continues below advertisement

“The previous owner let it go for far too long without … the proper maintenance,” he told Global News in an interview.

Checroune said when he completed his analysis, he felt the apartment should have been evacuated.

“I felt that the building should be vacated as a proactive action,” Checroune said.

According to Checroune and Elfaco, however, the owner hoped to delay an evacuation in order to prepare a proper plan to relocate tenants during renovations.

“They asked us ‘What can we do? Could we push this off a few months?’ We told them ‘Yeah, you could push it off, you can add a jack in the basement, and we monitor the situation,’” Checroune recounted.

Residents are upset that they were not informed of any critical issues until two months later.

“Tenants should’ve been made aware that it was unsafe to live there,” said Noble.

In January, the boiler broke down, and much of the building had no heat in a frigid stretch of winter. City inspectors were called to the building by a resident, and were shown the inspection report by tenants.

Checroune claims he told city officials an immediate evacuation was not necessary, but then they pressed him to guarantee the city was fully safe.

“They kind of strong-armed us into being like, ‘Either you put your name into full responsibility on the building, or we evacuate everyone.’ I cannot put my name on such an issue and say, ‘Yeah, no, it’s fine. It’s fine forever.’  That’s what the city asked.”

The city decided to evacuate the building.

Noble was among some of those provided with emergency housing by the city. Others have been staying with family or friends. Two months later, however, there is still no plan in place to return.

ORTAM says further inspections have now revealed fire damage and asbestos.

“Teams just finished the second batch of exploratory structural holes. The asbestos team was there,” Checroune explained.

Elfaco told Global News in a statement that the city evacuation order remains in place until further analysis and corrective work is carried out.

“The evacuation and ongoing process are being managed in accordance with directives from the city and guidance from two professional engineering firms who must focus on safety rather than speed of return alone,” Elfaco said through spokesperson Justin Meloche.

Checroune says he’s awaiting a report from a structural engineer and there is still a ways to go before residents can come back.

Story continues below advertisement

“It will probably be around three months or four months. It’s quite unsure, but it’s at least another two or three months,” said Checroune.

Tenants including Noble feel they are victims of a disguised renoviction. Elfaco maintains its priority is the safety of the tenants.

“I know for a fact that they wanted to evict us for renovations. They have told us that before,” Noble said.

She believes with the slow pace of the renovations, many tenants will simply find new apartments and break their leases, paving the way for Elfaco to renovate empty units and rent them out at higher prices.

Some tenants have already moved on and suspect rents will go up once they leave.

“I believe that they’re doing everything in their power to take advantage of the situation,” Noble says.

“That could very well be an eviction in disguise, but how can we prove it?” wonders RCLALQ housing advocate Benoit Rullier. “How can you prove that sort of thing? It’s very, very difficult.”

Elfaco tells Global News they’ll cover all moving expenses, and will compensate tenants for a portion of the rent they pay for temporary accommodations, which Rullier points out they are not legally obligated to do. Noble said she’s requested a reimbursement for her expenses but has not yet heard back.

Story continues below advertisement

Rullier says the landlord’s legal obligation is to make sure the building is sufficiently upgraded so that tenants can return.

People like Noble are losing their will to wait.

“I’ve really given up, and I don’t want to have given up. I tried so hard to fight when it first happened, but they’re so much stronger than us, and I just want a home, you know?” she said.

She’s still hoping to go back, but she and her roommate are now renting another apartment for $500 more per month than what they were paying.

“We finally found something that had no cockroaches, so that was really cool,” she said.

Tenants feel the city should be doing more to support them, and to pressure Elfaco to speed up the work.

The Cote-des-Neiges-NDG borough declined a request for an interview, but said in an email that its priority is to ensure tenants feel safe and supported, and is still awaiting a final report on the building’s state from ORTAM.

“We are closely monitoring the situation, maintaining pressure on the landlord, and will continue to support tenants throughout this process,” read the emailed statement.

Realtors say Calgary’s real estate market is now attracting a new kind of buyer | Globalnews.ca

After years of a severe housing shortage and many buyers being shut out of the market, the times are changing in Canada’s housing sector.

Future remains uncertain for Montreal tenants two months after evacuation – Montreal | Globalnews.ca

As Calgary realtors Anna Kaufman and Rut Kaufman-Aronovich were gearing up for a busy weekend of showing houses, they told Global News a new kind of clientele is emerging.

A few years ago, the new side-by-side in the community of Logan Landing that they were showing off on Friday would have attracted buyers aiming to upsize from a condo or buyers looking for an investment property to rent.

But Kaufman-Aronovich said it’s now attracting a new kind of buyer. “We’re now seeing a lot more new buyers who’ve never been in the market before.”

Realtors say the federal government’s GST rebate for first-time home buyers and a softening of the rental market are the big reasons for the change.

Story continues below advertisement

Data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation shows rental inventory is on the upswing in Calgary — with 3,100 available units in March.

That’s a 15 per cent increase from a year ago and the situation is similar in other large Canadian cities.

“The amount of time it’s taking to find tenants has greatly increased to about 45 days,” explained Shamon Kuresh, of the Calgary Residential Rental Association.

“We’ve found the vacancy rate has increased drastically, now sitting at about five and a half per cent.”

At the same time, the average rental price is down by nearly the same rate in Calgary, sitting just below $1,800.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation says the number of homes for sale in Calgary has increased at the same time rental rates are on the decline.

Global News

And Calgary’s rent-to-income ratio is lower than other comparable markets, like Edmonton or Vancouver.

Story continues below advertisement

“Why rent when you can own?” asked realtor, Len T. Wong. “You’re seeing some of those people get into the marketplace (and) interest rates right now are pretty good.”

Wong, who’s spent years working in the local real-estate market, said it’s also opening up more inventory because “a lot of the people who were buying for investment purposes aren’t getting the same rate of return (so) now they’re selling the property.”

That’s opening up opportunities for people who might not have thought it was possible.

The Canada The Canada and Housing Corporation says there are approximately 15 per cent more listings in Calgary this month than during the same month last year.

Global News

“It’s super exciting,” Kaufman Aronovich said. “Before, we’d be looking at a townhome, maybe a condo, depending on what part of the city you’re in. But now you can go down to a suburb, they have a front yard, they have a back yard.”

While industry experts don’t have a crystal ball to predict how long the correction in the market will continue, Kaufman has some advice for those thinking of taking the leap.

“Prices might go up, prices might go down, but the time might be perfect for you.”

FBI director’s emails and personal photos published by Iranian hackers

Pro-Iranian hackers have leaked hundreds documents relating to FBI head Kash Patel (Picture: Shutterstock)

A pro-Iranian group has published personal emails and pictures of the head of the FBI after hacking into his accounts.

Hundreds of documents, pictures and a CV of Kash Patel have been shared by the Handala Hack Team, which has links to Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence.

The group wrote: ‘Kash Patel, the current head of the FBI, who once saw his name displayed with pride on the agency’s headquarters, will now find his name among the list of successfully hacked victims.

‘The so-called ‘impenetrable’ systems of the FBI were brought to their knees within hours by our team.’

Many of the hacked records shared were from more than a decade ago.

Leaked photos included one of Mr Patel smoking a cigar in his mouth and another of the FBI boss standing next to a vintage sports car.

Handala, which presents as a pro-Palestinian hacking group, is thought to be one of several fronts used by the Iranian regime to conduct cyber attacks.

Earlier this month the same group claimed to have hacked into Stryker, a Michigan-based medical services provider and had deleted a large number of its files.

More than 300 emails send and received by Mr Patel from a Gmail account were shared, dating from 2010 to 2019.

It comes amid a rise in cyber-related operations from Iran-backed organisations.

On Thursday Handala claimed to have targeted employees working in the Middle East for defence firm Lockheed Martin.

The company said it was aware of the reports and had put systems in place ‘to mitigate cyber threats to our business’.

The FBI confirmed that the details taken were ‘historical in nature’ and that no governmental information had been disclosed.

It said in a statement: ‘The FBI is aware of malicious actors targeting Director Patel‘s personal email information, and we have taken all necessary steps to mitigate potential risks associated with this activity.

‘The information in question is historical in nature and involves no government information.’

Gil Messing, chief of staff at Israeli cybersecurity company Check Point, said the leaking of Mr Patel’s personal details was designed to make US officials feel ‘vulnerable’.

Iranian groups were ‘firing whatever they have’, he said.

City of Calgary reaches major milestone in repairs to Bearspaw feeder main | Globalnews.ca

The City of Calgary has reached a major milestone in the work to repair the beleaguered Bearspaw South Feeder Main as crews were scheduled to begin the process of slowly refilling the pipe with water on Friday — a task that will take several days to complete.

Future remains uncertain for Montreal tenants two months after evacuation – Montreal | Globalnews.ca

The water will then need to be tested to confirm it is safe for consumption, then the feeder main will be reconnected to the rest of Calgary’s water system.

The excavations along the nine sections of pipe where the repairs are being done have now been backfilled and the roads that had to be torn up to allow the work to proceed will soon be repaved.

This image, from the City of Calgary, shows some of the repair work being done to repair nine damaged sections of the Bearspaw South Feeder Main.

However, the city does not yet have a date for when the water restrictions will be lifted.

“We’re getting close, but we’re not out of the woods yet,” said the city’s general manager of infrastructure services, Michael Thompson. “Over the next few days, we will be moving ahead in a measured, deliberate way, with a focus on stability and safety as we work to start flowing water through the pipe.”

Mayor Jeromy Farkas told Global News in an interview on Friday: “We’re just a couple more days until we can end the water restrictions, but this allows us to reinforce those sections that we knew were on the imminent, imminently going to fail.”

The latest information on water use from the city shows that on Thursday, Calgarians used 483 million litres of water — that’s below the 500 million litres of daily water use that the city claims is sustainable while the feeder main is shut down and the Glenmore Reservoir is being used to supply most of the city’s water.

On Wednesday, Calgarians used 501 million litres.

“We know next week is spring break for a lot of households,” Thompson said.  “We ask everyone to continue with your water saving, especially as your household routines might change next week.”

Thompson said it will also take about five million litres of water to refill the recently repaired sections of the pipe, so overall water use is expected to increase over the weekend.

While Calgarians were able to keep their daily water use below the 500 million litres the city claims is sustainable while the repair work on the Bearspaw South Feeder Main is being done, the amount of water being used is expected to increase over the next few days while the pipe is being refilled.

Even with the repairs that are being done, Farkas continues to warn that the pipe is terminally ill and could still break at any time, which would result in another shutdown and more water restrictions.

While the city said mitigation work has been done to protect homes and businesses, the city has also issued a warning about the possibility of pooling water in the communities of Bowness and Montgomery should there be another failure.

“There are a couple areas through those communities where if the pipe were to fail, it would cause flooding. Think like the videos that folks saw on December 30th when Trans-Canada Highway became that surging river. So we don’t want to be in that situation. So we’ve done some preventative work in the area. You’ll see adjustments to the pathway, the berms, but we want to do this as safely as possible,” Farkas said.

The city has also produced maps of the area showing where water could pool if there is another failure.

The city will also be hosting an online information session on Monday at noon to provide an update on the feeder main repairs for people who live in the area.

Farkas claims the city is also on track to complete the job of replacing the old concrete feeder main with a new steel pipe by sometime in December.

Jill Biden’s Secret Service agent shoots himself while accompanying former first lady through Philadelphia airport

A Secret Service agent assigned to Jill Biden shot himself in the leg while escorting the former first lady through Philadelphia airport.

The agent shot himself in the leg just after 8.30am Friday while on an assignment to protect Biden, a Secret Service spokesman said.

He suffered a non-life-threatening injury after what the federal agency described as a ‘negligent discharge while handling a service weapon.’

Biden was not present at the time of the shooting and her movements were not impacted by the incident, the spokesman added.

The officer is currently being evaluated at a nearby hospital and is in a stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

‘The Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility will be reviewing the facts and circumstances of this incident,’ Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring said.

‘We are grateful for our law enforcement and public safety partners who provided medical assistance.’

The Daily Mail approached Biden’s spokesman for comment, who referred us back to the Secret Service.

A police cordon was in place outside of Terminal C at Philadelphia International Airport, by the American Airlines ticketing desk, KYW Radio reported.

Officers were seen surrounding a black Chevy Suburban inside the cordon. The vehicle’s trunk and front passenger-side door were left open.

A medic unit responded to the scene, but then left, followed by a police car.

Security at Philadelphia International Airport has been chaotic this week in wake of the partial government shutdown that has left Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers working without pay.

Multiple TSA checkpoints remained closed Friday as the airport worked to ‘optimize operations’, according to USA Today.

The security checkpoints at terminals A-West, F and C, where the shooting occurred, are reportedly closed.

Passengers can still fly through the impacted terminals but must pass through security at checkpoints in other terminals.

The lapse in government funding has left TSA working without pay since mid-February.

The Senate moved to end a budget standoff early Friday and approved Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funds to pay TSA agents, the Coast Guard and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, among other agencies.

The deal, which the Senate approved unanimously without a roll call, next goes to the House, which could consider it today.

Although Speaker Mike Johnson said he would need to meet with his fellow Republicans first to determine the best way to proceed. Republicans are angry that the entire department was not funded.

With pressure mounting to resolve the 42-day stalemate over funding for Homeland Security, the endgame emerged in the final hours before TSA workers were to miss another paycheck Friday.

President Donald Trump said he would sign an order to immediately pay the TSA agents, saying he wanted to quickly stop the ‘Chaos at the Airports.’

The deal did not include any of the restraints Democrats have demanded as they sought to rein in the Republican president’s mass deportation agenda.

More than 300 TSA workers have quit and unscheduled absences have surged since the shutdown began, leading to extended travel delays and airports struggling to screen travelers.

The federal government began deploying Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to assist in providing security.

The move drew sharp criticism from Democrats, rights activists and some Republicans, who warn ICE personnel are not trained for such work and that it risks escalating tensions in already stressed environments.

Trump, who promised on Thursday to pay airport security officers, previously said he would not sign a funding deal unless Congress also passes a contentious bill to overhaul how citizens register to vote in US elections.
