Trump teases design for 50-story skyscraper presidential library complete with Air Force One INSIDE: ‘Coming soon’

A flashy, gold-drenched vision of President Donald Trump’s future presidential library has been unveiled on his Truth Social on Monday night, not in bricks and steel, but in a striking AI-generated video.

The dramatic renderings offer a first glimpse of what is being billed as the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library and Museum in Miami –  a sprawling, waterfront complex that leans heavily into the former president’s signature style: bold, grand, and unmistakably gold.

Among the most eye-catching features is a towering gold statue of Trump himself, placed prominently as a centerpiece – a striking symbol of the project’s tone and ambition.

The renderings also depict:

  • A full-sized Air Force One jet displayed inside the lobby, alongside what appear to be fighter aircraft and presidential helicopters.
  • A gleaming golden escalator, echoing the iconic feature of Trump Tower in New York
  • Detailed recreations of the Oval Office and the White House Rose Garden
  • Expansive, marble-lined halls designed for exhibits, events, and visitors

The structure itself was designed by Bermello Ajamil, a Miami-based firm known for large-scale waterfront and civic projects.

The reveal was amplified by one of the president’s sons, Eric, who described the project in glowing terms in a public post to X.

‘FIRST LOOK: The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library is officially here,’ he wrote.

‘Over the past six months, I have poured my heart and soul into this project with my incredible team at @Trump.’

He added that the proposed complex would stand ‘as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known.’

‘These images have never been seen by the public – until today. Enjoy!’

Presidential libraries have historically served as archives and museums chronicling administrations, but the vision presented here pushes far beyond tradition.

Instead of a subdued, academic tone, the proposed Trump library appears designed as a spectacle-driven destination.

The slick promotional clip leans into a larger-than-life vision of Trump’s legacy, presenting the future library less as a traditional archive and more as a towering monument to his brand and presidency.

The inclusion of aircraft, theatrical staging, and highly stylized interiors suggests a focus not just on preservation, but on experience and legacy-building at scale.

The proposed tower is billed as a roughly 50-story structure, rising above the Miami waterfront.

Despite the buzz, the project does not yet exist, and no construction timeline has been formally announced.

Most presidential libraries are eventually operated in partnership with the National Archives and Records Administration, serving as research centers as well as public museums.

Last month it was revealed how Miami-Dade College could gift prime downtown real estate for the library. The foundation for his library now owns the land, property records show.

According to the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser, the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation Inc. now owns the property at 531 NE 2 Avenue.

In January, the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College, the previous owners of the land, transferred the property to the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida for just $10, records showed.

The state board is overseen by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who on Monday signed legislation to rename the Palm Beach International Airport after the president.

It is the latest in a series of buildings, institutions, government programs, warships, and money to bear the president’s name.

Breaking:FBI says man who drove into Detroit-area synagogue planned Hezbollah-inspired terror attack

A man who crashed his pickup truck into a Detroit-area synagogue earlier in March was carrying out an attack inspired by Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group, the FBI said Monday.

Ayman Ghazali made a video before the attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township, saying he wanted to ‘kill as many of them as I possibly can,’ said Jennifer Runyan, head of the FBI in Detroit.

A week before the attack, Ghazali learned that four of his family members were killed in an Israeli airstrike in his native country of Lebanon, according to an official there. Ghazali was a US citizen.

Israel’s military said a brother, Ibrahim Ghazali, who was killed in the airstrike, was a Hezbollah commander in Lebanon.

US National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard told a Senate committee that Ayman Ghazali had family ties ‘to a Hezbollah leader.’

Travellers pitch up their caravans and trucks in popular country park as Easter holidays begin

Travellers have set up camp at a popular Birmingham country park as the Easter holidays begin.

A group of Travellers in what appeared to be at least five caravans arrived at Sheldon Country Park’s main car park, volunteers said in a Sunday evening Facebook post.

The Friends of Sheldon Park added the camp had been ‘reported to the relevant council officers to deal with’.

Paul Tilsley, Sheldon’s council member, told the Daily Mail the group had been served with notice to leave the site, adding the park had been ‘invaded’ at least four times in the last year.

Mr Tilsley said the groups who stayed on the site lived ‘rent-free’, showed anti-social behaviour and left rubbish when evicted for ‘everybody else to clean up’.

The Daily Mail contacted Birmingham City Council to verify the camp’s status.

Mr Tilsley previously said: ‘It is a constant problem, Travellers moving from one park to another, parking up and dumping their rubbish for the council to clean up.’

Birmingham City Council said earlier on Monday it would ‘take steps to recover land where unauthorised encampments encroach upon it’.

Set on the city’s eastern side, Sheldon Park covers 300 acres and is a popular spot for families and children.

Entry is free year round and there are Jersey cattle, pigs, goats, geese and ponies kept on the grounds.

Described by Birmingham City Council as a ‘countryside in the city’ and a ‘wildlife haven’, the park sits alongside the city’s airport.

It also includes the 17th century Old Rectory Farm, a former dairy which has been restored and now allows visitors to view traditional farming methods.

Birmingham City Council previously said it had ‘usable transit sites and plots for use by the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community’, which it said was ‘in line with Government policy’.

Reality TV star Chloe Khan claims gang tried to steal her Pomeranian dog and jewellery in London Underground Tube attack

Chloe Khan has revealed that a gang tried to steal her Pomeranian dog, Dior, from her while taking the Tube.

The reality TV star, who made millions from OnlyFans, took to TikTok to share the terrifying mugging attempt, saying she thought she would ‘get stabbed’.

The X Factor star had taken the train from Manchester to London but was getting the tube home for her final stretch when a gang of thugs began grabbing at her dog.

She anticipated ‘something weird was gonna happen’ so was holding on tight to her Louis Vuitton bags and held her beloved Dior in her arms.

Although they looked like they were about to step off at Oxford Circus, the threatening group ran over to Ms Khan and began tugging at the pup.

While she she held tight and screamed ‘please help me’, they began undoing her bracelets until other brave passengers stepped in and defended Ms Khan, chasing the thugs off from the carriage.

Ms Khan said: ‘I have just had the most terrifying experience on the London underground ever…

‘These guys got on when I got on, started speaking to each other in a foreign language really loud and they kept trying to get Dior’s attention and touching her.

‘When I looked at them I thought they were Egyptian but with the language they were speaking I feel like it was something else, maybe even Romanian or something, I don’t know…but they looked so scary

‘I’ve got her [the dog] in my arms, my LV case and LV bag and stuff because I’ve been travelling. I clung onto them because I felt like something weird was gonna happen.

‘I felt like I was gonna get stabbed or something weird was gonna happen…

‘We were at Oxford Circus, they [the gang] got up like they was gonna get off, and they ran over to me and just started grabbing at me. I was clinging onto Dior … I thought they was trying to steal Dior.

‘That’s my absolute world and as I was clinging onto her they were underdoing my bracelets.

‘Everyone on the carriage I am so, so grateful.. there was a couple of girls, a guy and a couple of other people who got up and defended me and chased the guys off the underground.

‘I’m just so thankful to get me back safely.’

She said a friend thought they may have been playing with the dog to distract her while they then tried to nick her bracelets which would have been better, Ms Khan said, as she ‘would die for that dog’.

The X Factor star is now worth an estimated £12million thanks to a successful OnlyFans career and turning to AI to rake in even more cash, recently claiming to have made a staggering £200,000 in just 24 hours thanks to her AI clone.

Ms Khan first hit the spotlight on the ITV singing show X Factor in 2010, where she made it to bootcamp but missed out on the live shows.

It is not the first time Ms Khan has been a victim to theft in the capital.

In 2021, she was robbed of over £80,000 worth of jewellery, designer bags and shoes after her London accommodation was ransacked.

The former X Factor contestant had been a victim of theft in 2021, when she had valuables totalling £8,000 taken

The model was left heartbroken after thieves swiped her Audemars Piguet diamond-encrusted watch, costing upwards of £25,000, a white gold diamond Cartier bangle (£40,000), and a Chanel handbag (£9,600) amongst a slew of other items.

Re-laying the crime to her followers, Chloe told fans on Instagram: ‘On Sunday 5 December, I was robbed in London…They have stolen everything, literally everything.’

Chloe is known for her expensive taste and regularly posts snaps of herself decked out in designer gear to social media.

Optimistic of the return of her possessions, the star shared a full list of the stolen items to Instagram.

The star also revealed her new purchases: Louboutin sandals (£945), Louboutin bag (£850), Louboutin boots (£1,450) were gone as she wrote: ‘My whole shopping was stolen too.’

The Daily Mail contacted British Transport Police for comment.

‘It’s ridiculous’: U.S. closing historic Border Road to Canadian traffic | Globalnews.ca

Amid the howling winds of the Sweet Grass Hills lies Border Road, a 14-kilometre ribbon of manicured gravel stretching between the United States and Canada.

‘It’s ridiculous’: U.S. closing historic Border Road to Canadian traffic | Globalnews.ca

The shared road is on the Montana side, but Alberta maintains it.

North of the road lives Ross Ford. On the south, it’s Roger Horgus.

Both are in their 60s but remember childhood days bounding back and forth across the invisible demarcation line to play.

It was a generational thing. In 1990, National Geographic magazine profiled the two families as exemplars of amity along the world’s longest undefended border.
No more.

In the age of U.S. President Donald Trump, with American concerns of cross-border drug traffickers and illegal newcomers, the road is set to be closed to Canucks starting this summer.

When that happens, the only member of Ford’s family free to cross the road will be his black-and-white border collie, Geordie.

“It’s unfortunate,” Ford, 64, said in an interview on his farm just east of Coutts, Alta. “We’ve enjoyed free access to the road for I guess about 80 years, way before I was born.

“We’ve always been very close to our neighbours.

“Of course, they live in Montana and that won’t change — but we have this new barrier.”

Horgus, 68, sits drinking coffee at the kitchen table on his farm near Sweet Grass, Mont., and nods in the direction of his nearby neighbour, whom he has known for, well, forever.

“When we grew up, I wouldn’t be surprised if some weeks every day we’d run across and play. Ride bicycles, ride horses, go-karts,” Horgus said.

“(The road closure is) ridiculous. I hate to see it because the Canadians have taken such good care of us and the road, with grading and all of that.”

Horgus said U.S. border patrol officials have told residents there has been an increase in illegal traffic, but he’s seen no evidence.

A silver marker on a hill overlooking Ford’s farm indicates the exact location of the border. Recognizing the Treaty of 1908, it reads Canada on the north side of the marker and the United States on the south.

On a recent spring day, two U.S. border patrol officers pulled over in their vehicles on Border Road to have a chat.

Ford said patrols are usual. But in times past, U.S. officers would wave people through if a driver was heading across to chat with a neighbour.

Soon, the one road now will be two.

Ford said a virtually identical parallel gravel road will be laid down just metres away, on the Canadian side.

“The roads will basically parallel each other for the full length of the road. So we’ll have our road, and they’ll have their road.

“And the border will be in the ditch,” he said with a laugh.

Alberta Transportation Minister Devin Dreeshen said the province was told last year that changes were coming.

“We were informed by Homeland Security that they were making sure that this and other areas of U.S. soil at the border were going to be enforced,” Dreeshen said in an interview.

Story continues below advertisement

“We obviously went through the process to make sure we were able to expedite this (road), working with the County of Warner to make sure local access for Albertans (was available) on the Canadian side of the border.”

Dreeshen said $8 million has been allocated. Work is to begin in April and hopefully be completed by summer.

He understands the frustration many area residents may feel, he said.

“Regardless of the line on the map, you’ll have farmers on both sides of the border, you’ll have family friends on both sides of the border.

“I think obviously that will continue.”

Brits can claim £830 this year after FCA greenlights car finance compensation

Brits can claim £830 this year after FCA greenlights car finance compensation
12.1 million car finance agreements made between 2007 and 2024 are now eligible for compensation

Millions of drivers could get on average £830 each after a £7.5bn package to reimburse those caught up in the car finance scandal was agreed.

Brits who bought a car since 2007 were victims of unfair car loan deals, which saw dealers receive hidden commissions, with some paying more than is fair for their loan.

The UK finance watchdog, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has now finalised their redress scheme for affected drivers.

The scale of the practice was uncovered after three drivers took their cases to court, but only one of the cases was upheld in the Supreme Court, which was feared to limit how many drivers could get compensation.

This ensures it is fair for consumers and proportionate for firms. The eligibility criteria have been tightened, average compensation increased for older agreements and a minimum 3% compensatory interest rate per annum added.

Payouts will be capped in around 1 in 3 cases to ensure no one is put in a better position than had they been treated fairly.

12.1 million agreements made between 2007 and 2024 are now eligible for compensation, fewer than under the FCA’s original proposals.

But the average payout has increased to around £830 per agreement.

The FCA estimates that 75% of eligible consumers will make a claim. If so, total redress paid would be £7.5bn.

Nikhil Rathi, chief executive of the FCA, said: ‘We’ve listened to feedback to make sure the scheme is fair for consumers and proportionate for firms. It will put £7.5 billion back into people’s pockets.

‘Now we need everyone to get behind it and ensure millions get their money this year. Payouts should not be delayed any longer, especially as household bills come under greater pressure. Delivering compensation promptly also gives lenders the chance to rebuild trust, and means we can draw a line under the past and support a healthy motor finance market for the future.’

Distressing footage shows aftermath of Derby car-ramming as two victims leave hospital and police continue to question suspect

Distressing footage showing the aftermath of a car crash which left seven people injured has emerged as police continue to question the driver.

Two people can be seen lying in the street in the footage taken after a car reportedly mounted a pavement and mowed down revellers in Derby on Saturday night.

Another man who appears to be dazed can be seen sitting in the road as blue lights flash around.

In a statement on Monday morning, Derbyshire police said it had been granted more time to question the driver, a 36 year old man from India who was arrested a mile from the scene seven minutes after the crash.

Counter terrorism officers are assisting with the investigation.

Police have said they are keeping an open mind about the motive.

The 36-year-who is originally from India but has lived in the city for several years, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, causing serious injury through dangerous driving, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, and dangerous driving,

Seven people were treated at the scene and taken to hospital with a range of serious but not life-threatening injuries, after they were hit by a black Suzuki Swift in Friar Gate at about 9.30pm on Saturday.

Two have since been discharged from hospital.

Dharma Mundell, 26, who works at a newsagents metres away from where the incident happened, said people were smoking on the pavement outside the Bishop Blaise pub before the driver ‘sped up’ and hit them.

She told how she was serving a customer when she heard a loud bang followed by people screaming and crying.

‘I was in pure shock I guess, because I heard banging and screaming and then I came out (of the shop) and there’s ambulances and police everywhere. It was a big shock,’ she said.

‘There was an ambulance that pulled up just outside my shop and a lady got put in a stretcher.

‘(She had a) full neck brace, and I’ve seen a bunch of blood dripping down her head.

‘It was kind of scary. It was not something you expect here in at all.

‘This guy literally just sped up the road, straight onto the curb, straight through people.

‘He literally just ploughed through the people. I’ve just seen a bunch of people on the road and he’s ploughed through them.

‘When I heard screaming I thought maybe one person was fighting, and then you see seven or eight people on the ground.’

Calum Green, assistant manager at Bishop Blaise, was working when the incident happened outside the bar. He said ambulance sirens alerted him to the crash.

He said the car had come ‘right onto the pavement’ where a group of people were standing.

‘He mounted the kerb once. We closed the doors and kept everyone inside as we didn’t know what happened,’ he said.

Nadine Peatfield, leader of Derby City Council, described the crash as ‘horrific’.

She said Friar Gate would be closed to cars this Easter bank holiday weekend after the incident.

‘We want people to feel reassured that they can continue to come out,’ she said.

‘My heart goes out to everybody that’s been injured in this incident and everyone that’s witnessed it, of course, their friends and loved ones. It’s just horrific.

‘As an immediate reassurance to people in our city, we will ensure that over the bank holiday weekend no vehicles will be able to come down Friar Gate in those evenings when people are out celebrating.’

Claire Ward, mayor of the East Midlands, said it was a ‘serious but isolated incident’.

‘I know that for those not just involved who were injured on the evening, but who were around the city centre and had first-hand experience of what happened, this will be a really frightening time,’ she said.

‘The city itself, and all our agencies, will want to do all it can to support people at this difficult time.

‘We know the repercussions of violent acts like this don’t end just in that moment.

‘There will be real upset and trauma for many people who witnessed what happened on the night as well, of course, as those victims who were directly impacted, but we understand that there were no fatalities and that two people have already been discharged from hospital and more we hope, soon.’

Baggy Shanker, Labour MP for Derby South, said: ‘It’s deeply shocking to learn that something like this could happen here at home.

‘I really, really want to understand what has caused this before we jump to any conclusions.’

Mr Shanker said he was ‘absolutely’ concerned that counter-terrorism officers have been involved in the investigation, adding: ‘The police have reassured us… that is a routine precaution in an investigation like this.’

He continued: ‘Hopefully, collectively working with Derbyshire Constabulary, they’ll conclude their investigations and make charges appropriately pretty soon.’

The manager of The Spice Lounge, an Indian restaurant opposite where the crash happened, said two people who were walking along the pavement were hit by the car when it mounted the pavement and ‘swerved into them’ from behind.

CCTV from his restaurant showed one person was knocked into the road, while another fell onto the pavement.

He said: ‘I was just heartbroken and shocked. I think one of them had a lot of blood.’

The vehicle then continued forward he said, ‘but the way the car was going, it was swerving to hit someone else’.

Adam Gemili: British Olympic sprinter returns to Chelsea academy as speed coach following retirement from athletics

Adam Gemili: British Olympic sprinter returns to Chelsea academy as speed coach following retirement from athletics

Great Britain’s Adam Gemili has announced his retirement from athletics after 14 years at the top of the sport

In the space of a few months, Adam Gemili went from playing for Dagenham and Redbridge academy to becoming World Junior 100m champion and stepping onto the start line at the London 2012 Olympics.

Gemili had left Chelsea’s academy at 15 after training alongside the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and three years later was racing against Jamaican legends Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake at the Olympics.

Now, as the Londoner announces his retirement from athletics, he will be sharing his wisdom with the current Chelsea youngsters as he joins the Premier League club part-time as a speed coach.

Gemili made his Olympic debut at 18 and raced Jamaican Yohan Blake

Gemili made his Olympic debut at 18 and raced Jamaican Yohan Blake

“I dabbled a little bit in athletics, but I didn’t really try properly, and I remember just suddenly getting into the sport in training, and I just picked it up so quickly,” Gemili said.

“I was winning races and next thing I know, six months later, it’s a home Olympics and I’m lining up for GB thinking ‘what am I doing here?’

“Honestly, it the most imposter syndrome I’ve ever had, I was thinking ‘how does this happen to me?’

“Six months prior, no one had ever asked for my autograph or asked for a picture with me and now all of a sudden I’m at a home Olympics.

“Everyone sort of knew who I was, I was the young sprinter on the block, it was a really crazy time, not just for myself, for my family as well.

“I’d seen Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake on the TV, then suddenly, I’m in the call room, looking across and Usain’s sitting there.

“I remember thinking to myself ‘lock in, come on, focus’ – I was fangirling.

“I was in the Olympic Village in London walking around and Serena Williams walked in front of me and I was like ‘what’s happening? I was playing at Dagenham five, six months ago’. I didn’t really feel like I belonged.”

Gemili's major breakthrough into the sport came within three years of leaving the Chelsea academy

Gemili’s major breakthrough into the sport came within three years of leaving the Chelsea academy

Now as Gemili retires with a plentiful collection of medals, including a 4x100m gold from the London World Championships in 2017 and four European golds, he returns to where it all started to help the next generation at Chelsea.

“I’m just a normal guy from Dartford, we didn’t grow up with a lot,” Gemili added. “We just worked hard and I committed to my sport.

“I just hope one or two of them [the academy players] take some inspiration from that and say ‘you know what, it doesn’t matter if I can’t do it in this way, I’ll always find a way to be successful’.

“It doesn’t matter what you do. My story is my own and I hope a lot of these guys can create their own stories.

“I really hope they will go on and become super famous, rich, successful footballers that I can ring up and say ‘oh, I need some tickets for this game’, but the reality is it might not happen.

“But they might then be able to go ‘Adam used to do that and then he became a professional athlete in another sport, maybe I can do that’.

“These kids are so talented, they’re going to be talented no matter what they do – these 12, 13, 14-year-olds, they are just a different breed.

“It’s more brutal to be amongst [academy football] now, social media wasn’t a thing when I was growing up and now everything you do is online.

“Everyone can judge everyone, so the pressure, the performance, you’ve got to be on it.”

Gemili placed fourth at the 2016 Olympics and 2019 World Championships over 200m, and in 2023 in the 4x100m

Gemili placed fourth at the 2016 Olympics and 2019 World Championships over 200m, and in 2023 in the 4x100m

Through his background in football and athletics, Gemili can provide a unique perspective on improving your speed and emphasises that while all sports are different, the key is to learn was ‘fast’ feels like.

He’ll be setting up his own ‘academy’ to help sprinters, footballers, and young athletes from other sports learn how they can optimise their speed.

“Knowledge is power and if I’m able to teach these kids everything that I know, I can die happy,” he added.

“I hope even just one or two of them can feel some sort of inspiration from my story because football is very tough sport – like, I never planned to become an athlete.

“For a lot of these guys they won’t make it to the top level, they won’t make it to the top of the Premier League.

“But if I can teach them the skills that I got, one or two of them might even come into athletics, you never you never really know.”

Home World Championships ‘inspire a nation’

The bidding process for the 2029 World Athletics Championships is ongoing, but British Athletics’ bid has been hit by reports West Ham are yet to agree to the London Stadium’s use.

Gemili said the impact of a home championships cannot be missed, as he reflected back on his experience competing in the stadium in 2012 and at the 2017 World Championships.

“It gives athletes a great opportunity, but also it inspires a city, inspires a nation,” he said.

“Who knows in 10 or 15 years, that moment might make the future because there would definitely have been people in that 2017 stadium that were inspired by performances there that are now on British teams.

“I really hope they can come to an agreement, because sport should be celebrated and – football, athletics – there’s so much joy and brilliance that it brings to people.

“It brings such community in it, and especially London, it brings such a city together when especially over the last couple of years, it’s felt quite divided.”

Rob Burrow’s father dies after tirelessly campaigning for motor neurone disease in honour of his rugby legend son

Rob Burrow’s father, Geoff, has died aged 74 following a tireless campaign for motor neurone disease after the death of his rugby legend son.

The Leeds Rhino star passed away nearly two years ago at just 41 from motor neurone disease, having bravely battled the disease for nearly five years.

He had campaigned valiantly to increase awareness of MND and raised more than £15million alongside his close friend and former Leeds Rhinos team-mate Kevin Sinfield in a bid to fund crucial research.

His final wish had been for construction to begin on a new £6m facility based in Leeds and designed to support the needs of people living with MND.

But his tragic death was announced the day before a ground breaking ceremony for the site, leaving his heartbroken father to dig the first hole.

He was watched by the rest of his family and Mr Sinfield, and admitted the poignant moment ‘meant everything’.

On the centre, Mr Burrow added: ‘We’re glad, I wish he could have seen it open. But he will see it through Jackson and the kids, Lindsey. We’re going to make him proud.’

The Leeds Rhinos, Rob’s former team, confirmed the sad news of Geoff’s passing with a heartfelt tribute on social media this morning.

They wrote: ‘It is with deep sadness that the club has learnt of the passing of Geoff Burrow, the father of Rob Burrow.

‘Our deepest condolences go to Geoff’s wife Irene and the whole Burrow family at this time. May he rest in peace.’

Tributes have begun flooding in, from rugby fans and clubs alike.

Hull KR said: ‘Everyone at Hull KR sends our best wishes to the Burrow family at this difficult time.’

Hull FC added: ‘The thoughts and condolences of everyone at Hull FC are with Geoff’s family and friends, and the entire Burrow family. RIP, Geoff’

Wigan Warriors added: ‘Everyone at Wigan Warriors sends our love and support to the Burrow family at this difficult time.’

Bradford Bulls wrote: ‘Our thoughts and condolences are with Geoff’s family at this difficult time.’

Andrew Foster said: ‘Devastating news. Geoff was a hero. The care and time he had for Rycroft and Beau after all he had been through was incredible. What a legacy he has left for both rugby league and the MND community. RIP Geoff. You did Rob and your whole family proud.’

Andrew Ball said: ‘Such sad news, although didn’t know him, he came across as such a genuine person. Who carried himself and the family through a terrible time, and did a lot of great work for an important charity. RIP!’

Sheron Boyle added: ‘Oh my goodness. I spoke with lovely Geoff a couple of weeks ago as he was fighting for MND new medications for sufferers. His heart was broken by Rob’s death. I hope Irene, the girls and family take comfort that he is reunited with his beloved boy. RIP Geoff.’

Leeds Rhinos, the club Burrow spent his entire 17-year career with and who announced his own tragic passing, staged a tear-jerking tribute at Headingley at the time.

Burrow’s name and a large yellow number seven adorned the pitch while Rhinos players wore a blue and orange jersey for the Super League fixture against Leigh.

The touching pre-match event, which coincidentally took place on Global MND Awareness Day, also saw Burrow’s father address the capacity crowd.

‘It’s a very emotional night especially because Leeds against Leigh was the first home game I took Rob to,’ Mr Burrow, whose voice cracked with emotion, said.

‘He loved every minute.

‘He was cheeky but he was a lovely, lovely lad. And I miss him so much.’

Geoff had previously spoken about how his son had passed away peacefully and ‘on his terms’ surrounded by his family at Pinderfields Hospital near his home in Yorkshire June 2 2024.

The father-of-three had his devoted wife Lindsey, his three children, his parents Geoff and Irene, as well as his two sisters Joanne Hartshorne and Claire Burnett at his bedside at Pinderfields Hospital in Castleford as he moved on.

This is a breaking story, more to follow.
