Aries

March 21 to April 20

aries star sign

Tarot card for Aries for this week: Ace of Cups

Meaning: Venus moving into your own sign is a powerful love injection to your relationship realm. The Ace of Cups reveals you are going to meet someone new (possibly a Water sign — Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio) and feel an immediate attraction.

This could be ‘the one’, so if you’re free to pursue it then do so full force. If you’re not, then maybe this is true friendship or just of those bittersweet ‘could have been’ moments. Fertility is also a factor of this card so if that’s on your agenda, now is a good time! If it’s not, be extra careful!

Taurus

April 21 to May 21

taurus star sign
You’re turning heads, Taurus (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Taurus for this week: Eight of Wands

Meaning: You are ruled over by Venus so your love life always gets a nice kickback when the planet moves signs. And boy will this one work hard for you! Aries energy is direct, passionate and lustful, and the Eight of Wands is a massive communication card, so expect to hear just how many folk are attracted to you, and how intensely they feel. You might even find yourself being fought over, or part of a love triangle.

You will be flirting and getting lovely compliments all month long and it will really boost your confidence, which in turn attracts even more attention. Revel in this, enjoy it. If you’re single, I don’t think you will be by the time Venus moves on again!

Gemini

May 22 to June 21

Gemini
The green-eyed monster is rearing its head (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Gemini for this week: Seven of Swords

Meaning: Jealousy is a strange creature, lurking and slinking and then rearing its ugly head from the shadows in passive aggressive ways. Be on the look out for it this Venus in Aries, Gemini, both from those around you and maybe even within your own self.

Don’t let any temptations, unrequited attractions or unfair behaviours permeate your upbeat vibe and mood. Don’t wander down eerie pathways with folk you don’t trust. Stick to the straight and narrow. It feels like people are jealous of your powers of attraction. Let them be. It’s actually a compliment.

Cancer

June 22 to July 23

cancer star sign
The World is your oyster (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Cancer for this week: The World

Meaning: This is going to be a powerful transit for you, Cancer, so tune in. Venus in Aries stirs up The World for you, so a chapter is closing, a goal has been reached, a lesson learned, a new dynamic activated that will lead to relationship changes.

Might be a new suitor, possibly a Capricorn, maybe linked to overseas. Might be a trip that you book that is going to be the gateway to a new era in your love life. Might be the end of a phase of stagnation or challenge that leads you, with new lessons and habits on board, to smooth seas and plain sailing. Expect a transition, closure of something and the beginning of something else (better).

Leo

July 24 to August 23

leo star sign
Good luck being coy about this (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Leo for this week: Nine of Swords

Meaning: Venus in Aries is super direct, forthright, honest and transparent. You will be wearing your heart on your sleeve, even if you try to be subtle, and it might make you feel a little bit vulnerable somehow, like your inner worries or self-limiting beliefs are on show. Talk about your fears in relationships. Get them out on the table with someone you trust and process them. Find root causes and evidence, or even debunk them!

We all carry baggage and the Nine of Swords wants you to use the honest energy of this transit to put yours down, filter through it, and lighten the mental or soul load you’re carrying. Move ahead lighter, brighter and with your confidence restored.

virgo star sign
Could someone be about to pop the question? (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Virgo for this week: The Hierophant

Meaning: You know, this card can suggest engagement, marriage, very deep commitment in love readings, so someone may be getting down on one knee this Venus in Aries season! But something steadfast, lasting, and true is brewing in your love life, whatever situation you’re in.

Question how much you want what you’ve got because it can be yours forever if it’s what you truly want. If you’re single, this card can indicate clever, respected Taureans, a person of status who is admired by all. You will feel safe, protected, and reassured in their presence and this is like catnip to you! All in all, a very happy love life phase awaits you.

Meaning: Luck is going to play a massive factor in the success of your love life this Venus (your ruling planet) in Aries (your sister sign). The cosmic stars are aligning just for you! So, make a wish and then pay attention to the signs, omens and unseen forces swirling around you. Coincidences, chance encounters, de ja vu moments and lucid dreams will all feature to help bring you towards your wish.

If you’re single, look out for Fire signs (Leo, Aries, Sagittarius) and maybe something linked to luck or fortune being a part of your first meeting. Cupid has plans for you and is pulling strings — please notice his good work!

Scorpio

October 24 to November 22

scorpio star sign
Your vision is laser-focused (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Scorpio for this week: King of Wands

Meaning: Aries is a very ambitious star sign (ruled by Mars, as your sign once was, before Pluto was discovered). So, you’re feeling bold and purposeful about your love life, you know what — or who — you want and you’re going to make that happen. No games or dilly dallying, you’re saying it straight and you’re asking the questions you want answered.

Your purposefulness is attractive, charismatic, and you will get the results you hope for, so be confident. Look out for Fire signs (Leo, Aries or Sagittarius) who match your direct, passionate energy because you could be forging a ‘power couple’ dynamic with the right person.

sagittarius star sign
Stability is just on the horizon (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Sagittarius for this week: Temperance

Meaning: Temperance is your sign’s card in the tarot arcana so this is a strong Venus in Aries transit for speaking up, saying how it is, asking for what you want to happen, and getting it! Be honest. Be upfront.

Things might’ve felt uncertain or up in the air in your closest relationship recently, or if you’re single then maybe you’ve felt unsettled and like you’re seeking an anchor or steadying presence in your life. Grounding and stability await you, with the right person. You can make a home in the right relationship, feeling secure but not trapped (a key balance for your freedom-loving sign). Look out for fellow Sagittarians too — the attraction will feel powerful.

capricorn star sign
Old wounds be gone (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Capricorn for this week: Three of Swords

Meaning: Venus in Aries is going to be revealing, enlightening and healing for you, Capricorn. If you’re nursing a broken heart, then expect to feel really different — and better — over the coming three weeks, like you’re surgically removing the painful and tender parts. If you’re doing good, don’t worry, this Three of Swords is likely to relate to an old wound, maybe a betrayal that has always say heavily with you.

Something will shift, be revealed, or get said, that will cast new light on things, and possibly vindicate or relieve you of the weight you’ve carried here. Maybe you drop an outdated self-limiting belief about yourself in relationships. An echo will emerge, remind you, and make it all better somehow. Healing is your theme.

AQUARIUS star sign
Your love life is on the move in more ways than one (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Aquarius for this week: The Chariot

Meaning: Venus in Aries is direct and dynamic, just like the forceful, purposeful Chariot. Journeys, trips, holidays and location expansions or moves are also well starred with this card so maybe you fall (deeper) in love on the move this March. A Cancerian lover could also be on the cards, possibly someone you meet on a journey, so keep your eyes peeled on the daily commute or routine!

Things are happening, stuff is moving forward, and energy is swirling around your love life, in a good way. You know what you want and you’re ready to invest and commit to bring that to your realm. No more doubts, second-guessing, or games.

Death is the tarot’s card of transformation (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Pisces for this week: Death

Meaning: Venus in Aries is going to reveal the fault lines, the fading or false energies around you, and the connections you need to sever ties from once and for all. Goodbye any and all lingering exes, situationships, unrequited dalliances, and hello to new, powerful, loving, strong energy and attractions.

A Scorpio might enter your life and send your mind and heart spinning, but either way a new attraction will certainly emerge — maybe even with the one you’re with (if you’re happily attached) that heralds a new era. It feels like everything has changed, for the better, and it truly will this Venus in Aries season. Get ready for transformation.

First-ever dual Applebee’s and IHOP restaurant to debut in New York this month

It’s a fast casual dynamic duo.

In a first-of-its-kind partnership for New York, two iconic fast-casual restaurants — Applebee’s and IHOP — will open a combination restaurant together in Hawthorne, New York.

Doherty Enterprises, Inc. — a leading franchisee for Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey — announced that the grand opening of the dual-brand concept will occur on March 18, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

The Applebee’s/IHOP will open at the existing Applebee’s location in the town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County at 18 Saw Mill River Road.

The concept puts two full menus in one restaurant, sharing a single kitchen and staff and offering guests the opportunity to order from the full range of options from both brands in a single order.

Locals will now have the ability to enjoy everything from both Applebee’s and IHOP’s menus all day long — which means at any hour of the day, IHOP’s signature pancakes and breakfast staples will be served alongside Applebee’s burgers, wings and late-night bites.

“We’re bringing the best of both brands to our guests, so people can choose the experience they want in one convenient location,” Timothy Doherty, President and COO of Doherty Enterprises, said in a statement.

“This concept is about choice and value for families, commuters, and local workers. Whether you come for fresh pancakes at 7 a.m. or our signature wings at 9 p.m., you’ll be able to get your favorites without leaving the building. We’re proud to invest in Hawthorne and create new jobs and community partnerships in the process.”

The Hawthorne dual-brand location will offer a modernized guest experience with redesigned dining spaces that offer both the warm and friendly Applebee’s environment with the bright and energetic IHOP scene.

A news release noted that “guests can choose the atmosphere that suits their occasion.”

Dine Brands Global, Inc., the parent company of Applebee’s and IHOP, plans to have 14 of the dual-brand Applebee’s/IHOP restaurants open in the US by the end of 2026. There are currently 13 locations outside of the US, according to Westfair Business Journal.

“Our international success with this concept has shown that our brand menus complement each other, providing something for everyone, from early mornings to late nights,” Dine Brands CEO John Peyton told the outlet.

While this is the first one in the tri-state area, the first one in the US opened on Feb. 18 in Seguin, Texas, just outside of San Antonio.

LAURA CRAIK: Anya’s looking disarming at Dior’s big show

At the Christian Dior show in Paris on Tuesday, Jonathan Anderson was firmly betting on lilies as a licence to print money. Or rather, Monet.

The French artist was one of the inspirations behind the Northern Irish-born designer’s first autumn/winter collection for Dior since being appointed creative director of the LVMH-owned house in 2025.

Against the stunning backdrop of the Jardin des Tuileries and a pond floating with tranquil water lilies – Monet’s most painted flower – models took to the catwalk in a series of floral looks that were as spring-like as the weather.

Making her second catwalk appearance for Dior was the aptly named Sunday Rose Kidman, 17, the daughter of actress Nicole Kidman.

Sunday Rose was dressed in a textured black jacket, a draped skirt in an abstract lily print and pink T-bar sandals decorated with roses.

The floral theme ran through the collection, and included frothy tulle mini-skirts whose hems looked like petals blooming in the sun. Drawing on the classic Dior Bar jacket, Anderson changed the proportions, shortening the waist and adding dramatic peplums.

Actress Anya Taylor-Joy, 29, wore a hot-off-the-catwalk pink moire silk dress to sit front row.

She was joined by model Alexa Chung, singer and Will Smith’s daughter Willow, actresses Isabelle Adjani and Charlize Theron, and Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin. This was in addition to newly minted Dior brand ambassador, British actress Florence Hunt, 19, who plays Hyacinth Bridgerton in the hit Netflix series.

If Anderson focused on Dior’s Bar jacket then Anthony Vaccarello centred on YSL’s Smoking jacket. Not only is brown the new black – judging by its dominance on the catwalk, it’s also the new red, yellow, pink and blue next season.

The YSL show was watched by actresses Michelle Pfeiffer, Zoe Kravitz, Olivia Wilde

and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, as well as the British models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Iris Law and Lila Moss.

Lila’s mother Kate, 52, a longstanding brand ambassador, made her first appearance on the Paris Fashion Week front row after closing the Gucci show in Milan on Friday.

How to talk to children about what’s happening in the Middle East

How to talk to children about what’s happening in the Middle East
Children will likely have questions and be more aware than you realise (Picture: Getty Images)

As the crisis in the Middle East escalates, so do anxieties around the situation.

The US and Israel have launched airstrikes in Iran, and the conflict is spilling over into neighbouring countries, with missiles fired at a British airbase in Cyprus.

For those caught up in the violence and attacks, it’s unimaginable – and for those looking on from afar, the feelings of fear and helplessness can be overwhelming.

For children, who have less of an idea of what is going on, this can be even more terrifying.

Hearing words like ‘bombing’ and ‘World War Three’ without a full understanding of what’s going on is worrying for us all, and it doesn’t escape our little ones.

Mother comforts her crying daughter in a bedroom, sharing a tender hug and emotional support
The news can be terrifying for little ones (Picture Getty Images)

‘Children are like sponges; they’re absorbing everything,’ explains hypnotherapist, psychotherapist and mentor, Tania Taylor.

‘Whether it’s on the news, someone talking to the shop checkout lady, parents chatting in the playground, or a TikTok video, much of what they are hearing, especially once at school, is out of your control.

‘And sometimes, external factors (for example, Kevin in the playground telling everyone that World War Three is starting and we’re all going to die) can provoke more of a fear response.’

Even very young children may be more aware of what war is than we might even realise.

‘Many children have been exposed to adults or older siblings playing war-type computer games or watching YouTube influencers play such games on their own or a friend’s mobile phone or tablet,’ Tania says.

‘So, words like “bombing” may not be as unfamiliar to our children as we might assume.’

Therefore, it’s worth considering your language around younger children.

But how is best to explain what’s going on to the children in your life? And how can you go about reassuring any anxieties (while also managing your own)?

How to approach the subject

As parents and carers, we can feel like what we should be doing is giving them all of the facts and keeping them informed. But this approach can sometimes leave children feeling overwhelmed, Tania explains.

‘Children tend to be really good at spontaneous questioning. If they want to know something, they’ll ask,’ she says.

But if they do ask, or you feel that they need some explanation or reassurance, it’s important to think about how you’re feeling first.

Tania recommends: ‘First of all, you need to consider your own state of mind in relation to what is going on and how much information you would personally like to give your child.

‘This is important as even if you are led by your child’s questioning, you begin with at least some self-awareness of how you are feeling and where you want to go with it.

‘If you are particularly anxious about it all, it may be that you choose to wait until a time when you’re feeling less anxious to talk about it. Or perhaps having a discussion with another important adult in your child’s life, who can talk to your child instead, like a teacher or grandparent.’

Tania suggests that you may want to start with a non-specific question, like ‘have you learned about wars at school?’, and then listen to your child’s response.

‘What you’re doing here is enabling your child an opportunity to talk about something which they may not realise they can talk about,’ she notes.

‘If your child isn’t interested, they’ll tell you so, and there’s no need to push the conversation. If they go on to hear something at school, they’ll know you know about it, and be more likely to approach you with any questions.’

It’s always a good idea to let children know that, if they have any questions, they can ask you.

What can parents do and say to explain but not frighten?

Talking about the distance between the UK and ongoing events can be helpful, suggests Tania.

‘As much as we don’t want to normalise war, it is something that has been happening at varying points across the globe for the whole of your child’s life,’ she explains.

‘Knowing this can help to reassure your child that the chance they will be directly impacted is quite minimal.

‘Although they may want to talk to you about the people who are directly impacted. Keep language age-appropriate and be led by your child.

‘Taking action, such as getting in touch with a charity organisation that may accept shoebox-type gifts, is a really good way of showing your child that although this is happening far away, there are still small actions we can take to give our support.’

Active listening

Tania also recommends a technique called ‘active listening’, which you can use if your child is interested and wants to know more.

‘What you are doing here is paying full attention to your child during the whole conversation, ignoring distractions, and putting all your focus on listening to your child’s words,’ she tells us.

‘Listen to what they’re asking, and don’t give more information than they are asking for. We humans have a habit of oversharing, which is a situation when that’s not necessarily helpful.’

And if you don’t know all the answers to their questions, don’t be afraid to say you don’t know.

Tania adds: ‘Perhaps you can spend time searching for information together, or maybe you feel more comfortable saying you’ll find out and let them know later on.’

How to talk to kids of different age groups

News like this can be scary to children if not handled in the right way, and it will be different for different ages, explains Kirsty Ketley, a qualified early years and parenting consultant.

‘There is no ‘one way’ approach, as all children are different, but it is important that the subject is treated with sensitivity and understanding of what children need to know, weighed against what they are hearing from other sources,’ she tells us.

‘Children of all ages will also feel more worried when they think that no one is willing to talk about things that are worrying to them – they will think that it is too scary or upsetting to talk about, which then adds to their worries.’

Under seven

‘I think it is unlikely for this age group to properly pick up on what is going on,’ says Kirsty.

‘But, if they do overhear your conversations or see the news and ask questions, it is important to make sure they know they are safe and that what is happening is not in our country – perhaps showing them on a map or globe, so they can grasp the distance.

‘Kids of this age don’t need to be burdened with news that they are unable to understand, so if they don’t mention it, don’t bring it up. Let them be blissfully unaware.’

Jacqui O’Connell is a Youth Leader and Co-founder of the charity Spiritus, supporting homeschooled children in West London.

She says: ‘For younger children, we recommend reading a book about general worries and how to deal with them, such as Scared and Worried by psychiatrist James J Crist, PhD. You can then apply this to their worries about the situation with Ukraine and Russia.

‘Age-appropriate books on worries can help us discuss concerns and support children without too much detail.’

Tweens (between eight and 12)

‘Tweens are at an impressionable age and are more aware of the world around them,’ says Kirsty.

‘They will have learned about war and conflict in history lessons at school, and so they will have preconceived ideas of what it is all about.

She recommends watching something like Newsround, aimed towards 6-12-year-olds, which explains things in an appropriate way. ‘If you are worried about how to go about things, watch it with your child and then have a discussion about what you have watched.’

Another key to talking to children between the ages of 7-12 yrs is also how we question them.

‘Keep it positive,’ says educational expert and founder of KidCoachApp Kavin Wadhar.

‘Don’t ask why they are worried. Children often struggle to understand their emotions, which can lead to further anxiety. Instead, ask them questions to help them work out solutions to their worries.’

‘It is also crucial for parents to be aware of how they discuss the situation in the Middle East with other adults around children or in earshot.

‘Children are susceptible to how parents respond to issues, which can have a massive impact on a child’s anxieties. Studies have shown that children from as young as one to two years old will mimic parents’ behaviour.’

Teens (12 and above)

Kirsty suggests asking them what they already know and giving them lots of reassurance if they are worried.

‘Let them know that you are there to talk through things,’ she says.

‘I think it is important that they know that what they are seeing on social media won’t all be accurate and suggest that they watch the news or read reliable news sources online, instead.’

For teenagers, it is important to research the issues, look at the history of wars, and discuss why we have wars,’ support worker and joint founder of Spiritus, Gemma Eni Cherish, says.

‘We have had group discussions to give everyone a chance to share their point of view after exploring what is happening and why, which helps ease their concerns.

‘It also helps support children in finding their confidence as we suggest they develop ways to deal with anxieties. They build trust and confidence by sharing, and we all learn how to support each other.’

People are moving to this ‘vibrant’ London borough more than anywhere in 2025

People are moving to this ‘vibrant’ London borough more than anywhere in 2025
The borough of Wandsworth is proving popular – despite the price tag (Picture: Getty Images)

A trip to the zoo, an acrobatics show, a stroll around one of London’s first indoor markets, or perhaps just a swim in a historic Lido.

These are just some of the unique activities you might stumble across in Wandsworth in South West London.

It seems that it’s becoming increasingly popular with movers, too, as in 2025, a study analysing more than 23,000 moves found that it was the most popular London borough.

Now, it’s not exactly a cheap enclave to move to. Over the last year, house prices in Wandsworth have averaged at out at £810,224, towering over the current national average of £269,900 (according to Zoopla’s figures).

Plus, renting here certainly costs a pretty penny, as Compare My Move’s research found that the average monthly payment comes in at £2,526.

So, just what’s all the fuss about?

‘There’s a great feeling of peace’

Fiona Harrold has lived in Wandsworth for just over two years now, having moved back to London from Somerset in 2024.

She knew she wanted to be somewhere more lively than a village, but needed to be able to switch off and seek clarity amid nature, which is precisely why she ended up choosing South West London.

‘You can come home from a busy day of meetings in the centre of town, turn a corner and there’s suddenly a feeling of peace with a great green expanse of a park or heath,’ the 58-year-old PR tells Metro.

‘What’s special about it is the village feel as well as the convenience of Pilates studios, cafes and hairdressers that are open seven days.’

In her view, it feels like it’s outside of London – but in reality, it’s only 15 minutes from Waterloo on the train.

She now lives in a mansion block, and many of her neighbours have lived there for 20 years. Taking in each other’s parcels is the norm, and many of them have looked after her cat while she’s been away travelling.

‘I wouldn’t want to live in any other part of London,’ she says.

A love of greenery is also why 42-year-old Holly Stevens, who is originally from Wimbledon, chose Wandsworth. She wanted somewhere that felt familiar, but had a slower, more family-friendly pace of life.

‘King George’s Park, Wandsworth Common and Clapham Common are all on the doorstep, and they completely shape daily life, especially with children,’ Holly, who has two children, shares.

‘The schools are another big draw. There are some fantastic options locally, and that naturally brings in lots of young families. There’s a real sense of community here, you see familiar faces at the school gates, in the parks and in local cafés. It feels supportive and neighbourly.’

‘Wandsworth feels like possibility’

While Alicia Drabble-Castellano now lives in neighbouring Wimbledon Park, one minute from the border, she lived in Wandsworth when she set up her business.

The area gave her exactly what she needed for her idea, women’s clothing brand Single Swan, to thrive: space, energy, and community.

‘It’s full of people quietly building something. There’s a real entrepreneurial undercurrent, founders working from cafés, creatives collaborating after school drop-off, women in their 40s starting second acts,’ she tells Metro.

‘You’ll see river runners at sunrise, toddlers in tow by 9am, and start-up meetings happening over flat whites by 10.’

In her experience, Wandsworth feels ‘layered’ in that there are long-standing locals, but also new arrivals.

‘Local conversations turned into collaborations. It’s a place that allows you to grow quietly, steadily, and confidently,’ she adds.

Housing in Wandsworth

When it comes to explaining why it’s so popular despite the relative price tag, Damien Jefferies, founder of Jefferies London, has a few theories.

As Damien tells Metro, it ‘combines lifestyle appeal with relative affordability given its favourable location.’

He explains: ‘Families are attracted by the excellent schools, plentiful green space and riverside setting, while professionals value the fast connections into central London, particularly with the Northern line extension, as well as the up-and-coming buzz that has come from the redevelopment of the Battersea Power Station and surrounding area of Nine Elms.’

@birkbites

south west London has a banging new Italian sandwich spot!! 🥪🇮🇹 @La Finestra such a cute lil concept and a rarity in SW London, gimme allll the pistachio pesto pls – SO GOOD 📍 La Finestra, Southfields, Wandsworth

♬ original sound – birkbites

In his mind, it channels an essence of London’s ‘prestige’ without the champagne budget associated with nearby Chelsea and Fulham.

Damien adds that, between 2024 and 2025, the average sold price across Wandsworth actually fell by 6.4%, which he says is ‘in line with the slowdown seen across the wider London market.’

However, this has actually fuelled the borough’s popularity even further, as the average number of monthly housing transactions rose by 10.1% in 2024 and 9.3% in 2023.

Things to do in Wandsworth

From quirky food markets to a vibrant clubbing scene, there’s plenty to explore down this neck of the woods. It was also named the London Borough of Culture for 2025 by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, hailed for being ‘vibrant and diverse,’ as well as teeming with creativity.

Tooting Market is worthy of a visit alone, being one of South London’s first indoor markets, opening in 1930.

For those who like to party, Exhibit in Balham and Tram and Social in Tooting are two standout clubs, offering karaoke, bottomless brunches, comedy nights and more.

And those who prefer the great outdoors can enjoy the area’s green spaces like Wandsworth Park, Battersea Park and the River Wandle. Alternatively, why not take a dip in the famous Tooting Bec Lido?

Elsewhere on the cultural scene, there’s the Royal Academy of Dance offering a range of classes, while Battersea Arts Centre has a vibrant programme of events, covering music, theatre, dance and acrobatics.

Backyard Cinema is another great option for a day out, as well as Theatre 503 – which is located on top of the Latchmere pub.

Wandsworth is an incredibly family-friendly neighbourhood, with the likes of Battersea Children’s Zoo – offering hours of entertainment for kids and adults alike – and The Pottery Café, which is the ideal activity for creative little ones.

On the financial side of things, it also benefits from the lowest council tax rates in the whole country – which is certainly welcome news for the wallet.

Actor Awards 2026 WORST dressed: All the stars suffering fashion flops on the red carpet

The Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, have finally arrived – and as A-list stars descend upon the red carpet, there are sure to be some seriously wild and memorable fashion fails tonight.

The big event, which takes place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, will honor this year’s biggest performances in film and television.

The winners are decided upon by active members of the SAG-AFTRA union, and this year, some of the biggest names in Hollywood are nominated across the various categories.

The awards show comes as the Oscars loom just two weeks away, set for March 15.

Timothee Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Michael B. Jordan, and Jesse Plemons are all competing for Best Male Actor in a Leading Role, while Jessie Buckley, Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Chase Infiniti and Emma Stone are up against each other for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role.

Many of this year’s hit movies are also up for nominations in Best Cast in a Motion Picture – including Marty Supreme, Hamnet, One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Frankenstein.

Ahead of tonight’s ceremony, stars attended the awards in a slew of sartorial nightmares and over-the-top outfits.

The Daily Mail has rounded up the biggest fashion faux pas from the 2026 Actor Awards.

Dear Abby: I’m concerned about the amount of pot my relatives smoke

DEAR ABBY: I just concluded a five-day visit hosting some young relatives. Both are adults in their early 30s. They have full-time jobs and make decent money, although they spend it as fast as they get it. My concern is their pot smoking.

Recreational marijuana is legal here as well as where they live. During their visit, they smoked joints before breakfast, mid-morning, after lunch, before dinner, after dinner and before bed. I would estimate they smoked five to seven joints a day apiece. They repeatedly commented that what they bought here was much stronger than what they could get at home. I suggested maybe they should, therefore, smoke a bit less, but I got a “we’re on vacation” response.

They interspersed the smoking with high-caffeine energy drinks. Both exhibited a lot of anxiety and paranoia. Multiple times, they drove their rented car after smoking, and they would have gotten a DUI had they had been stopped for any reason.

I said nothing about their pot consumption during the visit, but then I thought that if they had seen me with a fresh glass of wine in my hand at breakfast, followed by five or six more over the course of the day, they would have been concerned about my habits. Am I crazy to be concerned about theirs?

I don’t know if this is how they spend their regular days off from work, or if this was a vacation binge. Should I keep my mouth shut and just let it go, or should I try to discuss it with them now that their visit is concluded? — OBSERVER IN OREGON

DEAR OBSERVER: How these fully employed relatives spend their money is not a subject you should raise. However, you do have the right to tell them you were concerned about not only the amount of pot they were smoking during their visit, but also the fact that they were driving under the influence. Marijuana may be legal, but that does not make it advisable to use in every situation. Being stoned slows down reaction time and puts them and other drivers at risk.

DEAR ABBY: My fiancé and I have been living with his parents for the past two years. We are ready to move, but it feels like his parents want us to live with them forever. I’m ready to just leave, but I don’t want to cause drama. His father calls me rude names and fights with my fiancé. I don’t want my daughter living this way anymore. Should I just walk out, or should I explain to them first what our plans are and then leave? — HAD ENOUGH IN THE SOUTH

DEAR HAD ENOUGH: I suspect there is at least one chapter and verse missing from your letter. Rather than leave in a huff or sneak away with no explanation, you and your fiancé should thank his parents for allowing you to live with them for the last two years, tell them you have found a place of your own now and leave as pleasantly as possible.

M&S claims these are ‘THE Easter eggs of 2026’ (Picture: Courtney Pochin)

Marks & Spencer’s Dippy Egg Cookie Cup took the internet by storm last week, but already there’s a new product going viral.

The retailer has been adding to its Easter range little by little, and the latest addition has already garnered a lot of hype. So much so that M&S has even gone as far as to proclaim these two items as ‘THE Easter eggs of 2026’.

Now, that’s a pretty bold statement, considering we’re still a month out from Easter itself, but shoppers seem to agree, with reviews on TikTok hailing the new Collection Filled Shell Easter Eggs as ‘the best Easter eggs ever’, ‘unreal’, and ‘fabulous’.

Naturally, after hearing this, I had to get my hands on them to see what all the fuss is about. So, here’s everything you need to know about the new products, as well as my honest verdict…

What’s in M&S’s new filled Easter eggs?

There are two brand new items in the collection: Collection Pistachio Filled Shell Milk Chocolate Egg and Collection Salted Caramel Filled Shell Milk Chocolate Egg.

The former features a Belgian milk chocolate outer layer dusted with a glimmer of gold, and filled with a layer of pistachio nut paste and white chocolate, with chopped roasted pistachio nuts.

While the latter is a lusted decorated Belgian milk chocolate egg with a salted caramel layered shell with sea salt flakes.

Both cost £18 each and are available to buy in M&S stores nationwide now, as well as online at Ocado.

What does Metro’s specialist food writer make of them?

Readers might recall I was rather disappointed with M&S’s last viral item, the Dippy Egg Cookie Cup. It just didn’t live up to my expectations for it, so I was definitely bracing myself for a letdown with these Easter eggs.

But, honestly, I needn’t have worried. When it comes to chocolate, M&S knows exactly what it’s doing, as is evident from the success of its Big Daddy chocolate bars and its recent victory in Metro’s blind chocolate biscuit taste test.

And these two new items are no exception.

First impressions are that these are HEFTY Easter eggs. They’re very heavy, which I took as a good sign, as it most likely meant they weren’t scrimping on the filling.

The egg comes already separated into two halves, but this didn’t actually make them any easier to break into.

I started with the salted caramel egg, and was hoping for an aesthetic shot of the filling oozing out of the chocolate, but my first attempt was a real fail. I only managed to break off a piece from the side, and was confused to find there was nothing in it.

All of the filling is in the bottom of the egg, and once you manage to crack into it, it’s incredibly messy, but I’d argue that’s simply par for the course.

The chocolate shell is rich and creamy and is very clearly a good quality chocolate, while the filling is a wonderful mix of savoury-sweet, with buttery, almost nutty notes. The amount of salt seems to vary as you eat it, so it’s not the most consistent flavour, but I quite enjoyed that, as it made the experience of eating it a little more varied and interesting.

If you’ve ever had one of the Cadbury Caramel Cake bars from the supermarket, I’d say this is the closest flavour comparison I can make. It’s like that, only fancier and with a sprinkle of sea salt.

As for the pistachio egg, I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the taste, as pistachio isn’t always a flavour I gravitate towards.

The outer chocolate shell is the same as the other egg, only this time it’s filled with a generously thick layer of pistachio and white chocolate paste filling. It’s velvety smooth and oh so addictive, and the chopped pistachio pieces add a satisfying crunch to the mix.

Which of the new M&S Easter eggs are you most excited to try?

So are these actually THE Easter eggs of the year, as M&S claims? I’d definitely say they’re up there as contenders, but I haven’t tried enough to say for certain. I imagine they’ll be pretty hard to beat, though.

But it has to be said that at £18 they certainly aren’t cheap, and we are in the midst of a cost of living crisis.

Now, I’m never going to encourage anyone to go out and spend that sort of money, especially if they don’t have it. However, if you do happen to have a spare £18 and this is what you want to use it for, I don’t think you’d regret it, because they’re damn good.

My top tip? These are so insanely filling that you really don’t need to eat much before it gets a bit sickly. So it could be worth splitting the £18 with friends or family, so you get to try it without it costing too much. I can easily see one of these being enough for three or four people, as my husband and I struggled to finish even half of the egg between us.

Though if you do decide you want to keep the whole thing to yourself, I promise I won’t judge.
