- Manchester City vs Leeds United: Manchester City made the trip to Elland Road on Saturday evening to play Leeds United in the Premier League. The match got underway at 5.30pm.
- Erling Haaland not named in squad: The talisman’s name was missing from City’s team sheet as they announced their squad an hour and a quarter ahead of kick-off. Here’s how City lined up: Donnarumma, Ait-Nouri, Guehi, Dias, Nunes, Rodri, O’Reilly, Silva, Cherki, Semenyo, Marmoush. Bench: Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Doku, Gonzales, Savinho, Khusanov, Foden.
- Pep Guardiola speaks on Haaland: Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of kick-off, the head coach said: “Two days ago, in the last moments of training, there were some problems. A little injury. It’s not a big issue, but not ready for today.”
- A major miss: Given how fruitful 2025/26 has been for Haaland, his absence will come as a major blow to City. In the Premier League alone this season, the striker has managed 22 goals and seven assists from 27 outings.
- Title race heats up: Heading into their match with Leeds, City trailed league leaders Arsenal by just five points. A win would see the Sky Blues slash that deficit to just two points.
- Title in City’s hands: Given a win over Leeds would leave City just two points behind Arsenal, they title race would be in their hands. That’s because Arsenal and City are still yet to play their reverse fixture in 2025/26, with a real six-pointer in store come April 18 at the Emirates Stadium.
- Forest update: ViaPlay’s Jan Age Fjortoft expects his compatriot to be back for the game with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday: “It is reported that he will be ready again as early as Wednesday,” he said.
