- Erling Haaland not named in squad: The talisman’s name was missing from City’s team sheet as they announced their squad an hour and a quarter ahead of kick-off. Here’s how City lined up: Donnarumma, Ait-Nouri, Guehi, Dias, Nunes, Rodri, O’Reilly, Silva, Cherki, Semenyo, Marmoush. - Pep Guardiola speaks on Haaland: Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of kick-off, the head coach said: “Two days ago, in the last moments of training, there were some problems. A little injury. It’s not a big issue, but not ready for today.”
- A major miss: Given how fruitful 2025/26 has been for Haaland, his absence will come as a major blow to City. In the Premier League alone this season, the striker has managed 22 goals and seven assists from 27 outings.

- Forest update: ViaPlay’s Jan Age Fjortoft expects his compatriot to be back for the game with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday: “It is reported that he will be ready again as early as Wednesday,” he said.
