MTG Says Trump Needs To Drop To His Knees And ‘Beg Forgiveness From God’ For ‘Evil’ Easter Post

Former US representative Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted President Donald Trump for issuing more threats against Iran, in what she called an “evil” social media post on Easter Sunday.

“On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted,” she began in an X post alongside a screenshot of Trump’s scathing Truth Social Post. “Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness.”

Greene, a once staunch Trump ally, said the president has “gone insane” and all of his supporters are “complicit.”

Noting that she’s “not defending Iran,” she continued, “But let’s be honest about all of this. The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started the unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they’ve been telling for decades, that any moment Iran would develop a nuclear weapon.”

The ousted MAGA outlier then accused Israel of having nuclear weapons.

“You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it. Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing.”

Greene went on to decry that on Easter “of all days” Christians should remember that “Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another — even our enemies.”

Slamming Trump as a fake Christian, she stressed that “his words and actions should not be supported by Christians,” and Christians in the Trump administration “should be pursuing peace” and “urging the President to make peace.”

“Not escalating war that is hurting people,” she added. “This NOT what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly voted in 2024, I know, I was there more than most. This is not making America great again, this is evil.”

MTG’s post came after Trump posted an expletive-laden message on Sunday telling Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or “you’ll be living in Hell.”

“JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” the president added in the post.

On Saturday, Trump made more threats against Iran on Truth Social while reminding the Middle Eastern country of the April 6 deadline he set for them to open the strait.

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” he wrote. “Time is running out — 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them.”

Trump’s former campaign manager Bill Stepien defended the president’s Easter post while appearing Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union.

“This is the first war fought in this age of social media with this president. I think he does things very differently. I think he does things in his own way — different than Biden, different than Obama. And I think we were seeing this playing out this morning,” he said of Trump.

To start, early on Saturday Optimist Hill hosted an easter egg hunt. Kids were invited to run up and down the hill to look for candy and prizes. It is safe to say the event was a success, as all the eggs were found within the first hour of the hunt. Families then warmed up in the lounge with some Easter-themed colouring.

Pope Leo marks first Easter as pontiff with call for hope amid global conflicts

Pope Leo celebrated his first Easter Mass as pontiff with a call Sunday to exercise hope against “the violence of war that kills and destroys,’’ saying “we need this song of hope today” as conflicts spread around the world.

With the US-Israeli war on Iran in its second month and Russia’s ongoing campaign in Ukraine, Leo has repeatedly called for a halt in hostilities.

In his Easter homily, the pope singled out those who wage war, abuse the weak and prioritize profits.

Leo, the first US-born pope, addressed the faithful from an open-air altar in St. Peter’s Square flanked with white roses, while the steps leading down to the piazza where the faithful gathered were filled with spring perennials, symbolically resonating with the pope’s message of hope.

The pontiff implored the faithful to keep their hope in the face of death, which lurks “in injustices, in partisan selfishness, in the oppression of the poor, in the lack of attention given to the most vulnerable.

“We see it in violence, in the wounds of the world, in the cry of pain that rises from every corner because of the abuses that crush the weakest among us, because of the idolatry of profit that plunders the earth’s resources, because of the violence of war that kills and destroys,” he said.

He quoted his predecessor Pope Francis in warning against falling into indifference in the face of “persistent injustice, evil, indifference and cruelty,” because “it is also true that in the midst of darkness, something new always springs to life and sooner or later produces fruit.”

He will later deliver the traditional “Urbi et Orbi” message — Latin for “to the city and the world.’’

Christians in the Holy Land were marking a subdued Easter

Traditional ceremonies at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, revered by Christians as the traditional site of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, were scaled back under an agreement with Israeli police.

Authorities have put limits on the sizes of public gatherings due to ongoing missile attacks.

The restrictions also dampened the recent Muslim holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr holiday, as well as the current weeklong Jewish festival of Passover.

On Sunday, the Jewish priestly blessing at the Western Wall — normally attended by tens of thousands — was limited to just 50 people.

The restrictions have strained relations between Israeli authorities and Christian leaders.

Police last week prevented two of the church’s top religious leaders, including Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa, from celebrating Palm Sunday at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

On Tuesday, the pope had expressed hope that the war could be finished before Easter.

Leo XIV celebrates first Easter vigil as pope, calls for harmony and peace in a world torn by war

Pope Leo XIV, carrying a tall, lit candle through a darkened and silent St. Peter’s Basilica, ushered in Christianity’s most joyous celebration with his first Easter vigil service as pontiff Saturday night, urging that Easter would bring harmony and peace to a world torn by wars.

Easter for Christians commemorates Christ’s triumph over death with his resurrection following his crucifixion.

Lighting the candle before he entered the basilica, the pope intoned: “The light of Christ who rises in glory.”

Candle bearers stopped to light candles of the congregants as they walked down the central aisle, spreading flickers of light through the dark basilica before the lights went up as the pope arrived at the baroque main altar, followed by cardinals dressed in white.

In his homily, Leo called sin “a heavy barrier that closes us off and separates us from God, seeking to kill his words of hope within us,’’ and likened it to the stone that had covered Jesus’ tomb — but which was found overturned, revealing Jesus’ resurrection.

Leo said that there are stones representing sins to be overturned today, some “so heavy and so closely guarded that they seem to be immovable.”

“Some weigh heavily on the human heart, such as mistrust, fear, selfishness and resentment; others stemming from these inner struggles, sever the bonds between us through war, injustice and the isolation of peoples and nations.

“Let us not allow ourselves to be paralyzed by them!” the pope said, calling on the faithful to make a commitment “so that the Easter gifts of harmony and peace may grow and flourish everywhere and always throughout the world.’’

With the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran in its second month and Russia’s ongoing campaign in Ukraine, Leo has repeatedly called for a halt in hostilities.

On Palm Sunday, he said that God doesn’t listen to the prayers of those who make war or cite God to justify their violence,

As is tradition, Leo baptized 10 adults from all over the world during the Mass.

During Leo’s first Holy Week, which is notoriously demanding, the pontiff carried the cross for the entire 14 stations during the Way of the Cross on Good Friday, the first time a pope has done so for decades.

On Holy Thursday, he washed the feet of 12 priests in the traditional Holy Thursday ritual, restoring a tradition his predecessor Pope Francis had broken by including laypeople and non-Christians.

On Sunday morning, Leo will celebrate an open-air Mass in St. Peter’s Square before delivering his Easter message and offer the traditional “Urbi et Orbi” message “to the city (of Rome) and the world,” which acts as a summary of the world’s woes.

Another wrote: “Very solid build and looks great when fully put together. Speed Champions has always been a great theme and this set further shows that.”

One purchaser knocked off a star for the car, noting that while “this was my first Speed Champions set and I was impressed with the level of detail, especially around the rear diffuser and exhausts”, they did find some of the stickers somewhat fiddly to apply.”

On the whole, however, most buyers were delighted with their purchases. One remarked about the Monsters, Inc. figures: “I love Monster Inc., one of my favourite Pixar films, when I saw this, I had to pick it up. Love it!”

This Aphrodisiac Easter Egg From Lovehoney Will Get You Humping Like Bunnies

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, HuffPost UK may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

Forget everything you think you know about chocolate. We’re not mad at it as it is, but Lovehoney has a new release that proves we should all be expecting a lot more from our choccy treats.

While the most pleasure you’ve got from a chocolate egg thus far might have been giving in to that moreish flavour, this Easter Lovehoney has a new love egg out, and it’s not (exactly) what you think.

Not just a delicious treat to snack on (in fact, Lovehoney advises only eating half per day), this egg is packed with the natural aphrodisiac Liboost to please your downstairs, too.

Made from Damiana extract, Liboost supposedly improves blood flow to your pleasure spots, whose effects you’ll be grateful for by the time you get to the ‘surprise’ portion.

Spoiler alert: it’s a bullet vibrator, loaded with three vibration speeds and seven patterns. Thanks to its hard plastic exterior, the tiny toy packs quite a punch and is the exact size you’d want from a toy to slip between you and a partner during sex. (Warning: you’ll need to remember to buy a AAA battery as it’s not included, boo.)

Considering the weather is not yet aware of the fact it’s spring (rude), we expect you’ll be spending more time than expected indoors over the next few weeks. But if the weather isn’t heating up outside, at least you can generate some in bed because, let us tell you: the combination of the chocolate and vibrator is spicy AF.

So much so that one reviewer said this “is most definitely THE egg to buy this Easter”.

But, if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the cinema we’ve seen lately (Wuthering Heights and Pillion, looking at you), it’s that things can always get spicier.

So of course, Lovehoney has also created an Easter sex toy collection, too. Packed inside an egg-shaped container, this includes a rabbit (for obvious reasons), penis stroker, vibrating cock ring, fluffy butt plug, and tickler.

Finally, a way to celebrate Easter if you’re not into chocolate!

All we’ll say is: this is the sign you’ve been looking for to plan a date night for the long weekend – get cracking.

Supermarket own-brand Easter egg crowned UK’s best — beating Cadbury and Lindt

A new study has ranked 102 Easter eggs to find the best (Picture: Getty Images)

Easter is almost here, and if you’re yet to buy an egg for a loved one (or yourself) there’s one supermarket you’ll want to sprint to.

In a bid to find the best seasonal treats on the high street for 2026, researchers at The Good Housekeeping Institute tried a whopping 102 products ranging from supermarket own-brand bargains to high-end items.

And apparently, one supermarket has really nailed it’s own-brand chocolate this year.

Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference The Mint One Belgian Dark Chocolate scored a whopping 89/100, making it the overall highest scoring egg, beating big brands like Cadbury and Lindor to the top spot.

Testers praised its vibrant mint-choc aroma, glossy finish and satisfying crunchy pieces. At £10 for 230g, it’s also one of the more affordable on the list.

The overall winner was this Sainsbury’s egg (Picture: Sainsbury’s)

If that all sounds a bit too sophisticated for your Easter tastes, you’ll want to get yourself to Tesco instead, which won the coverted award for Best Supermarket Milk Chocolate Easter Egg.

It’s Finest Double Layer Salted Pretzel Chocolate Egg, which retails for £14, was given a high score of 81/100.

The winning Tesco egg (Picture: Tesco)

Reviewers said the egg ‘offers the best of both’, with the pretzel chunks adding crunch, ‘bringing a lightly caramelised, biscuit-like, sweet and salty flavour to every bite’.

And it wasn’t just there where the supermarket impressed. In the children’s category, the Tesco Easter Milk Chocolate Bunny, which costs £1.50, even beat the Cadbury version.

With a very reasonable 78/100, the 100g Tesco bunny was branded the ‘best value’ on the list, with a ‘very similar creamy flavour.’

A famous fan favourite, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Easter Hollow Bunny, which retails for £3.75, scraped a slightly lower score of 77/100, but was still described as ‘exactly how an Easter egg should be.’

Though nothing can apparently compare to the classic Lindt Gold Bunny. This year you can get nine alongside a smooth egg, with the set scoring a staggering 86/100 from testers. They said it ‘simply wouldn’t feel like Easter’ without it.

Fanfare was also given to Morrisons The Best Signature Collection Grand Golden Egg, which weighs a whopping 1kg. This £29.50 treat came up tops as the Best Value Milk Chocolate Easter Egg.

The Good Housekeeping Institute’s Best Easter Eggs for 2026

  • Overall winner for Best Egg: Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference The Mint One Belgian Dark Chocolate, 230g (£10)
  • Best Milk Chocolate Easter Egg: Lindt Gold Bunny Milk Chocolate Easter Egg 250g (£16)
  • Runner-Up Milk Chocolate Easter Egg: Hotel Chocolat Milk to Caramel Extra-Thick Easter Egg 390g (£34.95)
  • Joint Best Milk Chocolate Easter Egg Design: Cutter & Squidge Billionaire Filled Easter Egg 550g (£32.99), Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Extra Large The Caramel One Belgian Milk Chocolate 230g (£10)
  • Best Supermarket Milk Chocolate Easter Egg: Tesco Finest Double Layer Salted Pretzel Chocolate Egg 210g (£14)
  • Best Fresh Chocolate: Russell & Atwell Milk and Blonde Chocolate Mini Monty Easter Egg 330g (£39.99)
  • Best Value Milk Chocolate Easter Egg: Morrisons The Best Signature Collection Grand Golden Egg 1kg (£29.50)

Elsewhere, brands are getting creative with their Easter treats. Mcdonald’s has just launched its Cadbury Mini Egg range, with a McFlurry and Frappe that Metro’s food writer, Courtney Pochin, hailed as positively nostalgic.

Making the most of its beloved in-store bakery, Lidl has also gone one step further and turned some of its most popular treats into Easter eggs, including the brand new Deluxe Belgian Chocolate Croissant Bakery Egg.

It’s comprised of a golden, caramelised white chocolate shell, complete with biscuit, shortbread pieces, a milk chocolate drizzle and cocoa nibs.

And while it might look a little similar to the viral £15 croissant egg from Waitrose, at £9.99 (with a Lidl Plus app or £12.99 without), this version is certainly a little friendlier on the purse strings.
