Dozens of pipe bombs discovered in suburban NY apartment after neighbors heard loud booms for weeks

Police discovered more than two dozen pipe bombs inside a White Plains apartment while investigating an explosive found on a quiet, tree-lined block Monday morning — providing a terrifying answer to the mysterious series of thunderous booms neighbors had been hearing for weeks.

Cops arrested Raymond Elders, 65, on several charges, including use of a weapon of mass destruction, after authorities found 25 complete pipe bombs and explosive-making materials at his Odell Avenue apartment, CBS New York reported.

Elders was cuffed following an investigation that was sparked when a police officer spotted a mysterious explosive device near his doorway.

Cops had been responding to reports of a possible transformer explosion after a powerful boom — which residents have heard multiple times in recent weeks — shook the neighborhood around 4:30 a.m.

The device was rendered safe after a shelter-in-place was ordered for surburban neighborhood.

The alleged explosive fiend had black and blue residue on his hands and was holding a lighter when police took him into custody, federal authorities said, according to the news station.

Surveillance footage obtained by the outlet from March 18 also allegedly captured Elders standing in the middle of the street, lighting a device, and then throwing it into the street.

He then quickly scurried away and tightened his hooded sweatshirt around his face after an explosion was heard, the clip showed.

Authorities believe the hoard of explosives may be tied to a neighbor dispute, WABC reported. However, investigators have not released an official motive.

During an initial appearance in federal court in White Plains, prosecutors called Elders’ crimes “the height of recklessness,” and urged that he could have killed himself or others by harboring the bombs, CBS reported.

Elders’ defense lawyer told the courtroom that he struggles with addiction problems. A judge ultimately ordered him to be held in federal custody without bail.

Nearby resident Yulissa Severino told Lohud on Monday that she heard two loud booms overnight, similar to blasts heard in the neighborhood in recent weeks.

“Those other times I thought someone was going to blow up the block, it was so loud, like they were experimenting,” Severino said. “There’s a war going on, so you think about that.”

A second person initially taken into custody is being treated as a witness, WABC reported.

“We want to assure the residents of White Plains that their safety remains our highest priority. We can confirm that there are no explosive materials currently present in the first-floor apartment at 11 Odell Avenue, and that the immediate neighborhood is safe,” White Plains Commissioner of Public Safety Wade Hardy said in a statement.

“The subject of interest, who was taken into custody by the White Plains Police Department, is a White Plains resident—a white male in his 60s. This morning, he has been turned over to the FBI,” Hardy said.

The FBI New York office did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Serial grave robber throws bucket of human bones at FBI field office: cops

It’s a grave situation.

A disturbed serial grave robber in Texas filmed himself throwing human remains over the fence at an FBI field office and then posted the video on YouTube, cops said.

Michael Chadwick Fry, 41, of Bartonville, Texas, said he was throwing the bucket of human bones to “summon” federal agents after stealing the remains from a mausoleum, according to the Bartonville Police Department.

He now faces two counts of abuse of a corpse and one count of tampering with evidence with intent to impair a human corpse, according to police.

Fry’s mother called police Monday after he went to her house and requested money for a U-Haul because he “had a body that needed to moved,” authorities said. He “became irate” at her over the phone call, leaving before cops arrived, according to an arrest warrant obtained by KDFW.

“Shortly thereafter, investigators received credible information from FBI Special Agents indicating that Fry had thrown a bucket containing human bones over the fence of the FBI Dallas Field Office,” according to the arrest warrant.

He shared evidence of his alleged crime by filming a video titled, “We send Elizabeth over the FBI fence to summon them by force” and posting it on YouTube, officials said.

In the video, Fry filmed himself speaking with a person behind a window outside the FBI office to seek a “status check” on an investigation about “what happened to me and my dead family and friends.”

Fry previously drove his car into a local TV studio in Dallas, Texas, in 2018. On September 5, 2018, Michael Chadwick Fry was arrested after intentionally crashing a rented pickup truck into the Fox 4 News studio building in downtown Dallas

After returning to his car, Fry is seen pulling a bucket containing the alleged remains out of the trunk and hurling them over a fence before driving off.

“There’s more videos coming. We’re going to take bones all over the place. I got more,” Fry said in the video as he drove away.

Fry allegedly stole an urn from a cemetery in Oklahoma City in February and raided a separate mausoleum in Denton, Texas, according to police.

He also searched for three cemeteries in Texas and Oklahoma on the GPS in his mother’s car.

He referred to the remains in the bucket as “Elizabeth Virginia Lyon,” according to the affidavit.

Authorities are carrying out DNA tests to identify the bones.

Fry has a lengthy rap sheet, according to the police.

In 2018, he drove his car into the KDFW studios in downtown Dallas, leaving behind a bright orange duffel bag that prompted a bomb squad response.

He was reportedly upset that cops had shot his friend.

Fry is currently in the Denton County Jail on $30,000 bond.

Ex-NJ mayor Gina LaPlaca admits to driving drunk with her toddler in car on St. Patrick’s Day, celebrates ‘second chance’

The disgraced ex-New Jersey mayor caught recklessly driving drunk with her 2-year-old son in the car on St. Patrick’s Day will not face jail time because of her “second chance.”

Lumberton Township Committeewoman Gina LaPlaca, who served as mayor last year, pleaded guilty to DUI and child endangerment charges on Tuesday and was sentenced to three years of supervision under an intervention program.

The 46-year-old Democrat will be required to take part in several court-ordered conditions, including attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and complying with New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency requirements, CBS News Philadelphia reported.

LaPlaca celebrated her acceptance into Burlington County’s Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI) Program after her arrest over her boozy drive on March 17, 2025.

“I have never felt more humbled than I do standing before my community today,” LaPlaca wrote on Facebook Tuesday.

“The weight of my actions is something I carry deeply. What I did was wrong. It was dangerous. It was inexcusable. I drove while intoxicated with my child in the car — a choice that could have caused irreversible harm. That reality is something I will live with, and learn from, for the rest of my life.”

LaPlaca would have to face her child endangerment charge if she violates the requirements. Her charges would be dismissed after a successful completion of the program.

LaPlaca shot at several news reports claiming she had been denied admission into the program and was facing possible jail time, despite New Jersey court records indicating a Jan. 20 decision that denied her acceptance.

“I have always stood firm in my belief that the outcome is more important than the narrative, and I could not be more grateful for this outcome,” she said.

“I am grateful that this matter has been legally resolved, and I do not take lightly the second chance the court has given me. I see it not as an escape from consequences, but as an opportunity — an opportunity to do better, to be better, and to prove through my actions that I am worthy of that grace,” she added.

LaPlaca claimed she had privately struggled with alcoholism for years until it was no longer private.

“Addiction does not excuse my behavior, but it does explain the work I must continue to do. I am fully committed to my recovery. That commitment begins with my family — especially my children — and extends to every part of my life,” she said.

Last March, the local politician was spotted by another driver driving her son home from daycare, swerving across a road and nearly striking a utility pole during her boozy excursion.

The cautious motorists shared footage of the reckless driver to the police, who tracked the car down to LaPlaca’s home, where they met her in the driveway at around 6 p.m.

Officers discovered the then-mayor’s young son strapped in the backseat and an open container of alcohol scattered in the car.

LaPlaca admitted to drinking and driving and performed a field sobriety test. During the investigation police found that LaPlaca had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.30%, over three times the legal limit, according to CBS News Philadelphia.

The Lumberton Township is governed by a five-member panel of committeepeople who serve three-year terms.

During an annual meeting, the members vote for the mayor and deputy mayor, who serve in the position for one year each.

LaPlaca’s current term ends on Dec. 31, 2026.

Ex-Prince Andrew arrested by UK police: report

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Brit cops were seen on the Sandringham Estate Thursday morning — on Andrew’s 66th birthday.

Six unmarked police cars and around eight plain clothed officers had arrived at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate in eastern England earlier on Thursday.

BBC TV reported on Thursday that police had arrested King Charles’ younger brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office over his links to Jeffrey Epstein. AP

Last week, Andrew was reported to Thames Valley Police – the force that patrols the area encompassing his former home, Royal Lodge – over alleged misconduct in public office.

An anti-monarchy campaigner reported Andrew after it emerged the ex-royal had allegedly shared trade docs with Epstein.

Trade envoys must keep details about their trips confidential – even when they are no longer in post under the Official Secrets Act.

Thames Valley cops confirmed they were talking with prosecutors over whether to launch a criminal investigation.

Vince Cable, who served as Board of Trade president between 2010 and 2015, accused Andrew of having “ruthlessly exploited” the role of trade envoy, according to the Times of London.

Andrew was initially investigated over long-running claims by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre that she was made to have sex with him three times — starting when she was 17 — on orders from Epstein and his madam, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Andrew was never charged and has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

However, he paid millions of pounds to Giuffre in a civil settlement, while denying wrongdoing. He also lost his royal duties and titles over the scandal of his close friendship with Epstein and Maxwell.
