Claudia Winkleman was left red-faced during a radio appearance today, after she inadvertently swore in front of a schoolboy.

The host of The Traitors was on Heart Breakfast ahead of her chat show’s return to BBC One this evening for its second ever episode.

Sitting in the studio on Friday with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston, Winkleman was first interviewed by school pupil Finley, who was tuning in remotely.

But, as a clip from the studio showed, Winkleman didn’t quite realise that Finley was still on the call after the interview had ended.

Theakston teased Winkleman would still be on the show after a break, to which the former Strictly Come Dancing host said: ‘Oh no.’

As Britain’s Got Talent judge Holden assured there would be more chat to come, Winkleman replied: ‘F*** sake.’

Almost immediately, her face turned to a picture of shock as she saw that Finley was still listening in. Next to her, Holden started to howl with laughter – if anything, watch the clip for her priceless reaction.

The apologies came thick and fast from Winkleman, as she said: ‘Finley do not be me, ever,’ but he seemed to take it all in his stride, laughing along.

Holden then joked: ‘I bet mummy swears, as Winkleman topped up her apologies to the school pupil.

This evening’s instalment of The Claudia Winkleman Show will see the presenter joined by comedian Joanne McNally, as well as actor Guz Khan, ahead of his new Amazon Prime series Bait, which he stars in alongside Riz Ahmed.

Also on the star-studded sofa will be former One Direction member Niall Horan, to discuss his new album.

Rounding out the sofa is Olivier Award nominee Rachel Zegler, off the back of her hugely popular run as the lead in Evita on the West End.

The premiere BBC episode was met with a mixed reception, including a three-star review in the pages of the Metro, which said Winkleman needed to do a better job at ‘keeping the show on the rails’.

BBC viewers at home had a similar take, with many agreeing that Tom Allen had acted as more of a host than Winkleman did herself.

Jesy Nelson celebrates ‘superhuman’ mums on her first Mother’s Day – amid her twins’ heartbreaking health battle

Jesy Nelson celebrated ‘superhuman’ mums on her first Mother’s Day on Sunday – amid her twins’ heartbreaking health battle.

The Little Mix star, 34, welcomed her daughters prematurely in May 2025 with her ex-fiancé, Zion Foster.

But last month, she revealed the devastating news that both babies had been diagnosed with genetic neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1).

The condition weakens the muscles by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, and Type 1 is the most common and severe form, with life expectancy estimated at less than two years without medical intervention.

On Sunday she shared snaps from a recent campaign shoot with families and their children with various health difficulties and disabilities.

She penned in the caption of her post: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to all the super human amazing mummas out there.

‘For anyone who finds today difficult, my heart goes out you. I had the chance to sit down with some incredible mums and families to celebrate women and the true powerhouses they are.

‘It was so incredibly special hearing their stories and learning about their amazing children who have had to overcome so much in their life. I cannot wait to share with you all their inspiring stories.’

In another post, she gave a special nod to all those who are not able to share the day with their mothers.

Jesy recently candidly opened up on her babies’ heartbreaking diagnosis in her documentary Life After Little Mix, and often shares updates about their health battle on Instagram.

The heartwarming post comes after Jesy recently revealed that she burst into tears when she saw the girls’ special feeding chairs.

As SMA1 causes progressive muscle weakness and wasting, Ocean and Story require feeding tubes due to severe swallowing, sucking and breathing difficulties, and need specially designed chairs to give them extra postural support.

After the two chairs arrived, the sight brought their mother to tears, as she explained it was ‘another reminder of another obstacle we have to tackle’ amid their health battle.

Alongside a snap of the chair, she penned: ‘So the girls need special feeding chairs that came yesterday and I couldn’t help but burst into tears yesterday when I saw them.

‘It just made me feel so sad as it’s just another reminder of another obstacle we have to tackle. Do any other SMA mummies feel this way?’

As well as caring for her babies, Jesy is currently hard at work campaigning for the NHS to expand the standard heel prick test to check for SMA1.

She has said that, had her twins had the test – which costs around £1 – and been diagnosed and started treatment earlier, their legs could have been saved.

And the star has already succeeded in getting a petition to reach over 100,000 signatures, calling for the government to fund and fast-track the process, meaning Parliament must consider it for debate.

But as she continues to push for the screening to be included in the newborn blood spot test and care for her daughters’ medical needs, Jesy revealed she has parked her music career.

Appearing on Heart FM’s Breakfast show, she told Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston: ‘Look listen I’d never say never to music, but for me, my girls are my main focus.

‘I’ll be honest with you, I’ve not got time, I really don’t. They are my whole heart and soul and my main focus, and I want to continue advocating for them and getting this heel prick test changed and getting them strong, that’s my main focus.

‘Because that’s going to determine their future. That’s my main focus right now.’

She previously described caring for the twins to the Daily Mail as an emotional rollercoaster, with some days being ‘really f***ing s***’ and others slightly lighter.

Jesy explained that she and ex-partner, Zion, never expected to be caring for their babies in such a way, and having to provide for their medical needs is a daily struggle.

She told how the medical procedures her babies must endure each day leave her feeling like she’s hurting them as they cry and scream.

‘Every day is so full-on – I can speak about it, but I’ll never be able to explain how intense it is until you see it,’ Jesy told the Daily Mail.

‘There are a lot of medical things I have to do which I am still really struggling with, I’ll be honest with you. I never expected that to be part of my life and it’s tough.

Last month Jesy revealed the devastating news that both babies had been diagnosed with genetic neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1)

‘They’re so tiny and I have to do things which I know are doing them good but at the time, when they’re crying and screaming, it feels like I’m hurting them and I hate that I have to be the person to do that. I just want to be their mum.’

When asked about a typical day with her twin daughters, Jesy said it’s impossible to describe, as no day is ever the same emotionally.

She added: ‘I don’t know how to explain my life in the day because sometimes it’s really f***ing s*** and then, other times, I don’t necessarily forget about their diagnosis but there are days [that] are lighter and they’re not as heavy.

‘So many mums have told me that’s what it’s going to be like and that’s why I need to take each day as it comes. It’s a rollercoaster; I don’t feel like this is going to be a steady journey at all.’

She has also addressed the tragic prognosis that Ocean and Story may not live beyond the age of two.

Speaking to Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, Jesy said she was hopeful that her babies would  defy the odds now that they are receiving treatment.

‘So spinal muscular atrophy is a muscular wasting disease, so they don’t have a gene that we all have in our body,’ she said.

‘Their muscles are now deteriorating and wasting away, and if you don’t get them treatment in time, eventually the muscles will all just die, which then affects the breathing, the swallowing, everything. And they will die before the age of two.

‘It’s not OK, but it is what it is, and I just have to accept it, and now just try and make the best out of this situation… And my girls are the strongest, most resilient babies and I really believe that they are going to defy all the odds.’

What is spinal muscular atrophy?

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a disease that weakens a patient’s strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord.

It results in gradual muscle wasting and the severity of symptoms varies by type.

Type 1 SMA is the most severe and is evident at birth. The weakening of muscles means sufferers cannot sit and usually leads to death by the age of five.

Type 2  is intermediate with the sufferer being unable to stand.

Type 3 is mild and makes it difficult to get up from a sitting position.

Type 4 sufferers don’t have symptoms until they are in their 20s or 30s.

The secret notes Britain’s Got Talent bosses give the judges before each act revealed – and their HUGE impact on the legendary Golden Buzzer

The secret notes Britain’s Got Talent bosses give to the judges before each act have been revealed – and how these impact the legendary Golden Buzzer.

Since 2014, the ITV show’s judges – as well as hosts Ant and Dec – have used one Golden Buzzer each during the audition rounds.

This prestigious buzzer sends a select few contestants immediately to the live shows, but one viewer has suggested it might not be as spontaneous of a decision as it seems.

Taking to TikTok, user @adamjamesonTV said in a video: ‘The first Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent was completely staged.

‘Not quite, but there’s more going on than you realise.

‘Before filming each act, the producers will give the judges notes on what to expect in that performance.’

Britain’s Got Talent has returned for series 19 – and has received another brutal blow amid a disastrous ratings slump

Taking to TikTok, user @adamjamesonTV broke down the how the Britain's Got Talent judges' pre-performance notes impact the Golden Buzzer

He continued: ‘Stuff like whether they should persevere with the act, or whether there’s a big ending, or a shock in store.

‘So when that big moment happens and it looks staged, it’s because it kind of is. But just for different reasons.

‘The talent is real, the moment is real, the prep that’s what’s planned.’

One person commented: ‘It’s well known that the producers scout talent, so it’s very staged.’

Arguing for another act, a second person added: ‘THE DRONE NEEDED THE GOLDEN BUZZER.’

A third boldly claimed: ‘The shows a full lie.’

During last Saturday’s first audition show, Paul Nunnari earned Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer with his gravity defying act.

The Australian, 53, became a frontrunner to win the latest series after wowing judges Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI.

The performance stunned the audience not only for his technical prowess, but because the former Paralympian executed the entire routine from his wheelchair, lifting and sustaining his body weight as he soared through the air.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Paul opened up about the road trauma he suffered at the age of 11, which left him with a life-changing spinal cord injury – though he has never allowed it to define him.

Speaking about his act, he said: ‘I was injured through a road trauma when I was quite young. When I was in hospital, the two things I wanted to do were learn to do wheelies and to chase nurses. The chair wasn’t a deficit to me – it was the complete opposite.

‘I have always lived my life as a wheelchair user, not thinking about what I can’t do in the chair but thinking about how I can do it in the chair but differently. The chair has never been a barrier to do anything. That was definitely the motivator.

‘I never want to be judged based on my disability. I want to be judged based on my performance. So, it’s vitally important that I perform at a high level, so that’s my focus.

‘It’s most enjoyable once I finish the performance and know I have nailed it. Hand on my heart, when I climb down from that silk, I take the blindfold off and look at the judges and crowd, I know in my heart that I have nailed it and that’s what matters most to me.’

Paul said he wanted his performance, which he trained and rehearsed tirelessly to perfect, to demonstrate that having a disability does not hold you back.

He explained that, in his experience, people often underestimate him because he uses a wheelchair, something he considers entirely irrelevant.

Through his act, he hopes to challenge public misconceptions and change perceptions of the disabled community.

He said: ‘When you talk about the way you have been injured or why you’re a wheelchair user, it evokes a very sympathetic response. People with disabilities have very low expectations put on them and I think it should be the opposite.

‘We should give people with disabilities an equable and dignified starting moment as everybody else and have high expectations of them.

‘I feel like people are content for me to do the pat on the shoulder and say ‘I did my best’ because I’m in a chair – but I don’t ever want to feel like that.

‘It’s obvious I use a wheelchair and I have a spinal cord injury; I use a wheelchair fulltime and live my life in a chair but it’s almost like asking a person the colour of their eyes or hair. It doesn’t really matter.

‘I try to let my performance speak for itself and change attitudes through those three minutes.’

Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX.

Hot on the heels of a topless photoshoot to mark turning 55, Amanda Holden has been enjoying poolside time in a bikini – or three.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge also celebrated her birthday by heading to Dubai for a swanky hotel stay with her family and friends.

Posting a reel to Instagram of her sunny getaway, the TV star gave a few glimpses at the resort’s gorgeous swimming pool and accompanying bar area, serving fresh fruit and homemade ice lollies.

She also showed off her luxurious suite, complete with dining and living areas and a huge outdoor balcony.

‘I’m in a bikini and I mean business,’ Amanda quipped at the start of her video, slipping off the shoulder of her robe to reveal a vibrant orange two-piece underneath.

She later posed poolside in it, accessorised with a pair of tinted shades, before switching to a turquoise bikini as she lay on the sand at a private beach sipping a cocktail.

’I recently spent a few days celebrating my birthday with family and friends in the beautiful @banyantreedxb,’ Amanda wrote in the caption of her post, praising her accommodation as ‘an incredible hotel’ with a ‘beautiful resort beach’ and ‘stunning’ pools.

‘The hotel itself is super chic and the spa is to die for. Had the most unbelievable room and we were looked after so well. ♥️ all my bikinis are @melissaodabash!’ she added.

Plenty of her followers praised how fabulous Amanda was looking, with former TOWIE star Jess Wright commenting: ‘The hottest 55 year old! 🔥🔥🔥🔥’

Pussycat Dolls icon Ashley Roberts also shared a dynamite stick emoji as she told her celebrity pal she was ‘looking good’.

Amanda’s special birthday holiday comes ahead of her returning to our screens with the BGT panel for the show’s 19th series.

Former guest judge KSI is now a full-time judge, joining Amanda, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell, with this personnel change bringing back Cowell’s ‘naughty side’.

The TV and music impresario went out to buy a trove of stink bombs, which Amanda told Metro and other press did not leave the production team best pleased when they found out.

‘Word got round that the stink bombs had been bought and the producers gave us a big talking to. We weren’t allowed them,’ she explained.

Alesha has also promised that this series is ‘back to the chaos that we love on our show. More than ever it just felt really bonkers’.

Once again, the competition will be offering up a prize of £250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance to its champion.
