How ‘Euphoria’ was a crazy starmaker for Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney

It’s mega-watt star power.

Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney are Gen-Z’s biggest superstars – making the “Euphoria” cast so stacked, it’s bonkers as it returns for Season 3 on Sunday. When the HBO series premiered in 2019, they didn’t have their current A-lister status.

The teen drama has arguably been a stronger star maker than bigger shows like “Saturday Night Live” or “Game of Thrones,” even though it didn’t technically “make” all of its mega-watt stars.

“Euphoria” was a wild starmaker for its cast, including Zendaya (pictured at the April 7 Season 3 premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California). ZUMAPRESS.com

“Euphoria changed my life,” Elordi, 28, told Variety in 2023.

“Saltburn” was his big screen breakout that same year. According to Vogue Australia, at the time, his future “Wuthering Heights” co-star Margot Robbie (who produced “Saltburn”) suggested him for the role because she saw him in “Euphoria.”

Prior to playing troubled jock Nate, he starred in the 2018 Netflix flick, “The Kissing Booth.”

It was a viral phenomenon, so he wasn’t completely unknown.

But a teen romance is a far cry from how he later went on to star in prestige projects from creme de la creme filmmakers like Guillermo Del Toro (2025’s “Frankenstein”) and Sofia Coppola (2023’s “Priscilla”), and became Emerald Fennell’s muse (in 2023’s “Saltburn” and 2026’s “Wuthering Heights”).

Before “Euphoria” put him in front of Hollywood tastemakers, Elordi could have had Noah Centineo’s career  – he’s doing fine, but he isn’t getting nominated for Oscars, or rumored to be the next James Bond.

Jacob Elordi (pictured at the Oscars at Dolby Theatre on March 15, 2026 in Hollywood, California) said he “wasn’t booking jobs” before “Euphoria.” FilmMagic

In 2023, the actor told GQ UK that before landing on the HBO show, “I wasn’t booking jobs. I think I had – I don’t know, $400 or $800 left in my bank account – and ‘Euphoria’ was my last audition before I went home for a little while to make some money and recuperate.”

Compared to Elordi, “Euphoria” didn’t launch Zendaya to the same degree.

The actress, 29, had a successful career as a child star on Disney Channel, and she’d already made a splash on the big screen in two 2017 blockbusters ( “The Greatest Showman” opposite Hugh Jackman, and a big superhero flick, “Spider Man: Homecoming”).

Her “Euphoria” performance as the drug addict Rue earned her two Emmys, and positioned her for the more adult roles she went on to do later, like 2024’s “Challengers.”

In 2019, she told Elle that the show made her more confident.

“People actually saying I did a good job at my craft… it’s like, ‘Damn, I did work hard. I’m glad you see that,’” she said. “I should finally own that; it’s liberating. I feel lucky.”

Zendaya once said that she felt like “Euphoria” allowed her to “own” her “craft.” HBO

Without “Euphoria,” she’d likely still be in big popcorn movies like the “Dune” franchise and Christopher Nolan’s upcoming “The Odyssey.”

But, she might not have the clout to carry a controversial indie movie like “The Drama” and elevate it to a respectable box office performance.

Similarly, Sweeney, 28, was climbing the ranks of Hollywood even before she played the insecure, over-sexualized Cassie on “Euphoria.”

Sydney Sweeney (pictured in “Euphoria” Season 2) was already on the rise before the show. HBO
Sweeney (pictured with Amy Adams in “Sharp Objects”) wasn’t totally obscure before “Euphoria.” HBO

She was in the trendy 2018 HBO miniseries “Sharp Objects” with Amy Adams, and she was also in “The Handmaid’s Tale” that same year.

After “Euphoria,” she went on to her current career, in flicks like 2023’s “Anyone But You” and 2026’s “The Housemaid” (not to mention, her status as a cultural lightning-rod for off-screen controversies like her 2025 American Eagle jeans ad and her bathwater soap).

At the Season 3 premiere on April 7, Sweeney told Extra that she had “no idea” how the show would impact her career, and these days, she “definitely” reflects on how the show catapulted the cast to stardom. “It’s been a wild ride,” she said.

Gen-Z stars aside, the “Euphoria” cast also includes the Oscar-nominated Colman Domingo, 56. He already had a long career before the show, but it earned him an Emmy and elevated him to further prominence, as he’s become an awards show staple.

So, Elordi is the cast member that the show truly “made,” but it does deserve credit for assembling them all together — and catapulting them.

“Euphoria” is especially notable as a starmaker for Elordi (pictured in “Euphoria” Season 2) because it didn’t air as long as other “starmaker” shows like “SNL.” HBO
“Euphoria” didn’t launch Zendaya (pictured in Sesaon 1) but it positioned her for her current drama career. HBO

It’s especially impressive, compared to other shows with reputations for launching talent.

“Euphoria” has a measly two seasons (and a third forthcoming). “SNL” has a slew of famous alums, but it’s been around since the ‘70s. Considering “Euphoria’s” much-shorter lifespan, it’s remarkable that it launched three zeitgeist-defining mega stars.

“Game of Thrones” was also a bigger show than “Euphoria.” But although its stars Kit Harington, Maisie Williams, and Sophie Turner have gone on to respectable careers, they’re not A-listers, trendsetters, award season darlings in the same way that Zendaya, Sweeney, and Elordi are.

“Euphoria’s” capacity to be a starmaker is as wild as its plot, and that’s its biggest legacy.

“Euphoria” Season 3 premieres Sunday, April 12 at 9 pm on HBO.

‘90s teen heartthrob unrecognizable as he reunites with TV show co-stars

“Sabrina the Teenage Witch” alum Nate Richert had a rare reunion with his TV co-stars.

The ’90s heartthrob, who portrayed Harvey Kinkle, snapped a photo with his on-screen love interest, Melissa Joan Hart, and Beth Broderick, per an Instagram photo on Tuesday.

Kinkle, 47, smirked while posing alongside the duo in a hat and a button-up.

“When the magic fam comes together!” Hart, who played the role of Sabrina Spellman, captioned the snap.

While Broderick, who took on the role of Sabrina’s aunt Zelda Spellman, was in attendance, actress Caroline Rhea, who played Sabrina’s other aunt Hilda Spellman, wasn’t.

Fans gushed over the reunion, with one writing, “OMG this so ICONIC 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍.”

“Sabrina the Teenage Witch” aired for seven seasons from 1996 to 2003.

Richert, meanwhile, stepped away from the limelight after the hit series concluded.

The former actor has recently kept busy with his “The Nate and Curtis Podcast” alongside his co-host, Curtis Andersen. The latter, who portrayed Gordie, was a recurring character in the series.

According to the Daily Mail, Richert revealed in 2018 that he was juggling several jobs, including as a janitor.

“I’m extremely lucky to have had any success at all, let alone solid work in film and TV for six years (20 years ago),” he previously wrote on X. “I’m currently a maintenance man, a janitor, a carpenter and do whatever random jobs I can get to pay the bills.”

Additionally, Richert posts sketch comedy clips on social media.

‘Burn Notice’ star ditched Los Angeles for Colorado after meeting his wife and says he’s ‘never leaving’

“Burn Notice” star Jeffrey Donovan has no plans to move back to Los Angeles.

During a recent interview with Fox News Digital, the 57-year-old actor spoke about his move to Colorado after meeting his wife on set of one of his projects.

“I met my future wife while I was finishing a job, and she was from Colorado, and once I started visiting there, I never stopped,” he explained. “It’s an incredible state and, I’m raising my children there, and we’re never leaving.”

Donovan met his wife, Michelle Woods, in 2011, and the two got married a year later in August 2012 in a small ceremony in Santa Barbara, California.

Since getting married, the couple has welcomed three children together: Claire, Lucas and Ethan. The actor and his wife are raising their children in Colorado, which he says is the true sunshine state, not Florida – which he said should be called “the thunderstorm state.”

“Colorado, secretly, is the sunshine state,” he said. “It’s a beautiful part of the country that gets more sunshine than maybe even Arizona and New Mexico. It’s incredible. So that’s why we’re there. And it’s really healthy living.”

The “Sicario” star shared that although he grew up in Boston, many of his friends currently live in Los Angeles and are raising children there.

While he does miss his friends, he says they all agree that raising children is “a challenge,” and that for him, being in Colorado makes it less so.

“I find it less challenging in Colorado, which plays to my talent level of raising kids,” Donovan explained. “If it’s not hard raising kids in Colorado, then that’s where I wanna be.”

The actor first gained national attention with his breakout role in “Burn Notice” in 2007. He played Michael Westen on the show, a blacklisted former CIA operative who works to find out who was behind the burn notice and why, without any of his usual contacts or resources.

He starred on the show for seven seasons and even went on to direct some episodes.

“I feel very fortunate about the show, but I also know that at the time it was the most grueling to this day job I’ve ever had,” he told Build in November 2017. “It was difficult, but I look back at if I didn’t take that job, and I wasn’t there, I would never have met my future wife and had my three beautiful children.”

Donovan is currently starring in the three-part series “The Faithful,” which tells story of the Book of Genesis from the perspective of five women at the center of those stories.

The actor stars on the show as Abraham, one of the most iconic figures in the Bible, telling Fox News Digital he thought taking on the role would be “a big swing.”

“There’s a part in the first hour where I actually talk with God and Minnie [Driver] is playing Sarah and I, to be honest, I was lost,” he recalled. “I felt the enormity, the pressure of how do I convey that I literally am talking to God to an audience that wants to talk to God or has talked to God, or wants to believe there is a God. And so I did feel that pressure.”

He then credited his co-star Driver for getting him in the right mindset, saying “she kind of grabbed me” and told him he was “enough,” with Donovan saying, “It was really powerful for me to feel that connection.”

When it comes to portraying the marriage between Abraham and Sarah, Donovan said he “tried to approach it as realistically as possible,” adding that playing a couple who have been married for that long, reinforced to him “that marriage is complicated.”

“It’s challenging, and if you and your partner, whoever that might be, can come to some sort of agreement that we are in it for the long haul, that our children, if you’re blessed enough to have children, are even more important than you, and you put all your eggs into that basket of going, ‘We are the providers, we are their educators, and they learn humanity from us,’ and if you go from that kind of premise, I think your children and your family will end up all right,” he said.

John Stamos stuns social media with first tattoo at 62 as fans crown him a ‘baddie’

Fans praised John Stamos this week after the actor shared his first tattoo at 62 years old.

“Guess who got his first tattoo?” the “Full House” alum wrote on a video montage showing the process of getting inked with a Native American horseback rider looking skyward.

“The Beach Boys placed this image: ‘Appeal to the Great Spirit’ over Brother Records as a symbol of artistic freedom and trust in a higher creative path,” Stamos revealed in the caption.

He continued, “Lately I’ve felt that same pull in my own life. Stepping into this new chapter of my career, taking bigger swings, following the work wherever it leads.”

The actor, who stars in the new Danny DeVito-produced horror movie, “Drag,” added, “The timing felt right, so I put that Great Spirit on my arm as a reminder to stay brave, stay open, and trust the direction the art is taking me.”

“Rockstars!!” one fan wrote, while another said, “Absolutely love this! Can’t wait to see you play with The Beach Boys Sunday!!!”

Another commenter noted “You went big! Looks good” while a fan called Stamos a “baddie.”

“I thought it was going to be a tattoo of Elvis,” one fan joked, referring to Stamos’ and his “Full House” character Uncle Jesse’s obsession with Elvis Presley.

“No way!!!!! I’m so proud of you!” Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, praised Stamos, adding several clapping emojis.

“Full House” alum Jodie Sweetin’s podcast cohost Celia Behar wrote, “So now you’re gonna come with @jodiesweetin and me to get your next one, yeah?”

In 2019, Stamos confused some fans when he shared a photo of him getting a fake tattoo of Nick Jonas’ face on his arm as part of an inside joke where both musicians share their love for each other on their social media.

Jonas had previously shared a photo of him sleeping with a blanket that had Stamos’ picture on it.

Last summer, Stamos told Us Weekly that he’s looking to “play a little more real” in his career choices, saying, “I’m looking for my ‘Breaking Bad.’”

Stamos called his part in “Drag” “maybe one of the darkest, weirdest roles I’ve ever taken.”

He said, because of projects like “Drag” and his role as a lawyer/gynecologist on Kristen Wiig’s “Palm Royale,” he can accept his permanent link to “Full House” “because I’m not just that. I’ve proven to myself that I can do other things. Whether people see the other stuff or not, it doesn’t really matter.”

Stamos will also be in the second season of the Netflix drama “The Hunting Wives.”

“I’m in this phase of my career where I’m really looking for challenging, different roles,” Stamos told People recently.

He called “The Hunting Wives” a little “darker” than what he’s known for doing.

“Like I said, I can get away with a little bit more than other actors, for a little while at least — until these things start coming out where it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s Stamos,’” he added.

Carmen Electra shares the simple approach to romance she swears by in her 50s

Carmen Electra shared what she believes is the key to lasting romance.

While speaking with Fox News Digital at Steven Tyler’s 7th annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party, the 53-year-old actress reflected on how to keep the spark alive in relationships.

“You definitely wanna keep the spark alive, but you wanna be with someone that you love being with because that’s definitely what’s gonna keep the spark live anyway, right?” the “Baywatch” alum said.

“So someone that — you just love their spirit, you love who they are as a person, someone that’s not a downer. I like artists, like people that are into art, whatever their art may be, all that good stuff.”

The “Scary Movie” star has previously been involved in a string of high-profile relationships. In the early 1990s, Electra was romantically involved with Prince, who also helped launch her music career.

Prince discovered Electra, who was born Tara Leigh Patrick, in 1991 and signed her to his Paisley Park label.

The late music icon gave her the stage name Carmen Electra and oversaw the release of her self-titled debut album in 1993. The two dated for a brief period before splitting but remained on good terms.

Electra later made headlines in the late 1990s for her whirlwind relationship and brief marriage to NBA star Dennis Rodman.

In 1998, the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas, but he filed for annulment after nine days of marriage. Electra and Rodman later reconciled briefly but finalized their divorce in April 1999.

In the early 2000s, Electra entered her longest and most serious relationship with Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. The two married in 2003 and documented their relationship in the MTV reality show “’Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen + Dave.”  However, they separated in July 2006, and their divorce was finalized in February 2007.

After that marriage ended, Electra began a relationship with musician Rob Patterson, and they announced their engagement in April 2008. The two remained engaged for several years but never married and split in October 2012.

Over the years, Electra has been romantically linked to several other public figures, including Tommy Lee, Fred Durst, Colin Farrell, David Spade, Ryan Lochte and Simon Cowell.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Electra revealed she is single but expressed that she is interested in dating in 2026. While speaking with the outlet, Electra shared her dating dealbreaker and described what she is looking for in a potential partner.

“I don’t like liars,” Electra said. “It’s just really nice when you’re with someone [who’s] just really into you. I have had that before. It obviously didn’t last. But once you know what it feels like to really be with someone [who] is so there for you, you can’t undo that feeling. You know, it’s just beautiful.

“[I want] somebody that’s very romantic,” the former “Singled Out” host added. “I remember when I was dating Dave [Navarro], I was so not romantic, and he was teaching me how to be romantic, but now I am.”

During her interview with Fox News Digital, Electra shared her secret to feeling confident in her 50s.

My confidence, wow, just comes from trying to be the best person I can possibly be,” she said. “I’m a Taurus, so I’m very stubborn, but I love life, I love food, I love people, I love love, and I’m very passionate. And I’ll always be that way. So, that’s never going to stop.”

Last month, Electra, who played lifeguard Lani McKenzie in the hit series “Baywatch” from 1997 to 1998, slipped back into her iconic red swimsuit for a slideshow of photos that she posted on Instagram. The actress posed in the one-piece as she stood on a lifeguard stand while holding a red Rescue Can.

While speaking with Fox News Digital, Electra explained what inspired her to once again don the famous swimwear.

“I just wanted to put this suit on again and shoot,” she said. “2026 is going to be an amazing year, I think, hopefully. And I thought it would be fun. So, I just figured, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s put the suit on and get some photos going.’”

Electra, who reprised her role as Lani in the 2003 television film “Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding,” also addressed whether she would be making an appearance in the upcoming “Baywatch” reboot series, which was announced last September.

“I have not heard anything yet, but I’m definitely open to discussion,” she said.

Electra also teased her upcoming OnlyFans collaboration with another ’90s icon, Denise Richards. Richards joined OnlyFans in June 2022, shortly after daughter Sami Sheen launched her own account on the platform. Electra had debuted her account on the subscription-based platform one month earlier.

Electra also addressed whether she would be making an appearance in the upcoming “Baywatch” reboot series, which was announced last September. BACKGRID

At the time, Electra told People that joining OnlyFans was “like a no-brainer.”

“I just felt like, ‘Yeah, I need to do this,’” she said. “I, for once, have this opportunity to be my own boss and have my own creative vision to share with my fans without someone standing over me, telling me, ‘Don’t do this, don’t do that. Cover up this.’”

Last week, Electra reposted a behind-the-scenes clip from her collaboration with Richards, who noted in the video that the two have never previously worked together.

“We’re doing this huge Valentine’s Day collab together, and it’s been really exciting,” Electra told Fox News Digital. “Denise, honestly, is such a sweetheart, and we had a lot of fun together.

“We’re in sexy lingerie, so definitely go to OnlyFans and check us out!”
