The Ontario police watchdog is investigating after a sexual assault was reported involving a Hamilton police officer at a Cardi B concert on March 31.

Spokesperson with the SIU, Kristy Denette said on Tuesday that concert security asked police for assistance in removing a woman from the venue “due to her conduct.”

Denette said officers first asked the woman to leave and then removed her using “physical control.”

She said the SIU is now investigating a “sexual assault allegation in relation to physical contact between her and one of the involved police officers during her removal from the premises.”

On April 2, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said it is appealing for witnesses in the arrest of a woman at the TD Coliseum.

The SIU investigates police interactions with the public that involve death, serious injury or sexual assault.
