Just wanted to share a story about two brothers, Leo and Simba.
A heartless person abandoned them beneath a bush along with two siblings. The babies were newborns, left outside in October when the weather was already very cold. Sadly, the other two kittens did not survive.

Leo and Simba were saved thanks to an observant house cat belonging to some nearby students. The clever cat kept calling for attention near the bush until someone came to investigate. When they looked closer, the tiny kittens were discovered just in time.
They came to me as fragile babies with their umbilical cords still attached and no mother to feed them. I fed them kitten milk replacement, helped them go to the bathroom, and gently massaged them the way a mother cat would care for her babies.
Thankfully, my other cats stepped in to help. They could not feed the kittens, but they treated them as their own and helped raise them to grow into confident, healthy cats.
It was hard work, but it was so worth it.
When Leo was just three weeks old, he developed pneumonia. The veterinarian suggested putting him down, but I refused. I believed that as long as there was life, there was hope. I brought him home, gave him antibiotics, and used a homemade remedy of water, salt, and honey to help him recover.
Leo pulled through.
Today Leo and his brother Simba live in their forever home with me and my family in Boden, in northern Sweden. Our household includes four people and several cats who helped raise them.
There is unimaginable cruelty toward cats in the world. Leo and Simba are living proof of that reality. Someone chose to throw away newborn kittens rather than care for them.
Now these two brave boys are doing important work here in Sweden. We attend events and share their story to bring attention to the difficult situation facing many cats and to help reduce the rapidly growing number of homeless cats.
