Trains may be delayed up to an hour or cancelled

Trains travelling from Cambridge to London are facing major disruption after a person was hit by a train. Greater Anglia trains travelling between London Liverpool Street and Hertford East, Cambridge and Cambridge North are affected on Tuesday morning (March 10).

A person has been hit by a train between Tottenham Hale and Cheshunt. The National Rail website said: “A person has been hit by a train between Tottenham Hale and Cheshunt.

“Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed. Trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, diverted via Seven Sisters or revised.”

It continued: “Network Rail and emergency response team are on site and are working as quickly as possible to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.” For people travelling from Cambridge, they can use their tickets on Great Northern trains between London Kings Cross and Cambridge, or between Moorgate and Hertford North.

People can also travel on Thameslink via any reasonable route. Other trains affected are Greater Anglia travelling between Stratford (London) and Meridian Water and Bishops Stortford, and Stansted Express between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.
