Charlottetown police have arrested a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with a homicide investigation in Edmonton.
In a news release Wednesday, Charlottetown Police Services said its Major Crime Unit, working with the Edmonton Police Service, located and arrested the 47-year-old man on March 17.
Police said the arrest took place at a residence in South Melville, with support from tactical response and street crime units. He was taken into custody without incident.
He has since been transported to Edmonton, where he remains in custody and is expected to appear in court.
“This investigation has demonstrated the importance of inter-jurisdictional intelligence-gathering and cooperation. CPS would like to commend the Edmonton Police Service for their steadfast approach, collaborative efforts and professionalism,” the release said.
