A self-employed care worker has been charged with defrauding a senior of more than $200,000, Charlottetown police say. 

According to police, a five-month investigation found the worker made numerous transactions into a personal account over a two-year period.

Sandra Dawn Henderson, 53, was charged on Feb. 11 with one count of fraud over $5,000. She was released on conditions and is due in court on May 7. 

Charlottetown Police Services is asking anyone who believes they may have been victimized to contact police or call P.E.I. Crime Stoppers.
