The Minecraft Dungeons II reveal during Minecraft Live 2026 left the entire gaming community surprised and excited. The developers suddenly announced a sequel to the popular dungeon crawler that had stopped development in 2023. However, the announcement video hid a major Easter egg that many gamers might have missed.

At 0:13 in the reveal video, fans noticed a QR code that appeared briefly for mere milliseconds. Scanning the code leads to the Minecraft.net page titled “0x7370696365776f6f64”. This page contains an unlisted YouTube video with the title “TJG KIF RDE LSRD”.

When the title was decoded from hexadecimal, it translated to Spicewood. Spicewood is essentially the internal project name for Dungeons II that had been widely spread when rumors and leaks surfaced in 2025. Some players further realised that the YouTube video with the title “TJG KIF RDE LSRD” could be decoded using a keyword cipher with “spicewood” as the keyword.

Once decoded, the letters spelt out the following:

“UNL OCK THE PATH”

This is essentially a hint that reinforces the last scene of the Minecraft Dungeons II reveal teaser, which depicted the portal in the ancient city lighting up. This Easter egg could suggest that the portal gets activated in Dungeons II, paving the way for otherworldly creatures or entities to come to the block-shaped world.

Mojang’s subtle nod to the community’s active interest and eagerness highlighted the developers’ awareness of what gamers discuss. Fans of the block-shaped world will have to wait for the developers to release more teasers and announcements to know more about this cryptic Dungeons II Easter egg.
