Playoff action in the Ontario Hockey League gets underway Thursday night for Guelph and Friday in Kitchener.

The first round is a best of seven series.

The Kitchener Rangers ended the regular season at the top of the Western Conference and will face the Saginaw Spirit. 

The Guelph Storm were seventh in the Western Conference and will face the second-place Windsor Spitfires.

The Brantford Bulldogs took first place in the Eastern Conference. They’ll face eighth place Sudbury Wolves.

Kitchener Rangers face off in Downtown Showdown

Fans lined the streets in Carl Zehr Square to watch the Rangers play three-on-three road hockey Wednesday afternoon. The free event featured live music, free games and activities, food and opportunities to receive autographs from the players. The event follows the Rangers’ win against the Flint Firebirds Tuesday night, which made them the Western Conference champions. They have two games remaining in the regular season before playoffs, with their next game on Friday against Sarnia Sting.
