The Denver Broncos strengthened the offense by adding Jaylen Waddle in a trade from the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday. The former Dolphins wide receiver is scheduled for a physical with the Broncos on Wednesday.

The Bronocos sent their first-round pick (30th), along with the third- and fourth-round picks (94th and 130th), in return for Waddle and a fourth-round pick (111th overall).

Following the trade, Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II shared a cryptic X post featuring a photo of American rapper Lil Woody.

The fans alluded to Waddle’s earlier comments, in which he said he would beat the Broncos cornerback in a fight. In an interview with Brand Risk Promotions, Waddle was asked about his potential opponent. The former Dolphins WR replied:

“Pat Surtain, I would beat the fuc* out of him. I’d beat the dog shi* out of him,” Waddle said. “There are a lot more people, but that’s just top of my mind. I’d beat the dog shi* out of bro.”

Patrick Surtain II, who shares a strong bond with Jaylen Waddle since their time together at Alabama, reacted to his former college teammate’s comments.

“Got a little too much dip on your chip 😤👀”

Following his trade to the Broncos, Waddle shared a screenshot from his video call with his former Alabama teammate in his Instagram story.

The Broncos re-signed 17 of their 21 unrestricted, restricted and exclusive rights free agents over the last few days, making Waddle their first signing from another team since free agency opened.
