“Wish he broke his jaw” – CM Punk taunts injured real-life rival
CM Punk mocked his real-life rival following this week’s episode of WWE RAW. The former AEW star is scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber 2026 this Saturday night in Chicago, Illinois.
Speaking on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike show, The Second City Saint was asked about Seth Rollins’ injury. Punk noted that he didn’t want to see anyone get injured but wished Rollins had broken his jaw instead of hurting his shoulder, so he didn’t have to hear him talk so much.
Thanks for the submission!
“I don’t wish injury on anybody. He’s out with a pretty devastating shoulder injury and the only thing I can say is I wish he broke his jaw instead so I didn’t have to hear him talk. I get more calls and texts from people in Chicago that are Bears fans that are like ‘please bring this guy back to work, we’re sick of hearing him talk about Football. Get him off my TV screen’. Please keep him away from what I do, so maybe there’s a career for him after wrestling somewhere else, please,” said Punk. [H/T: WrestleTalk on X]
Punk will be defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor this Saturday at Elimination Chamber. If the 47-year-old defeats Balor, he will go on to defend the title against Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42.
CM Punk explains why he is defending the title at WWE Elimination Chamber
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk explained why he is putting the title on the line at Elimination Chamber, despite his match against Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 42 already being booked.
Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, the WWE RAW star noted that playoff teams don’t get to skip regular-season games and that the paying fans deserved to see a fighting champion.
“My mindset is I am a fighting champion. I’ll put it to you like this. If a franchise sports team gets into the playoffs, they don’t stop playing the regular season games, do they? No, there’s people that buy tickets, they come to see me. I’m coming to give them a show, and they deserve a fighting champion,” said CM Punk.
It will be interesting to see if Finn Balor can pull off the upset and capture the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WWE Elimination Chamber.
