“Will surely lose tonight” – Fans unhappy with 27-year-old star’s inclusion in Real Madrid XI to face Bayern Munich
Real Madrid fans are not happy with Trent Alexander-Arnold starting in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich. Many believe that Luis Diaz will get the better of the right-back and Dani Carvajal should have started.
Alvaro Arbeloa has started Andriy Lunin in goal with Thibaut Courtois out injured for the game. Alexander-Arnold starts at right back with Antonio Rudiger and Dean Huijsen as the center-backs and Álvaro Carreras as the left-back.
Thanks for the submission!
Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni are in the midfield to help out Thiago Pitarch. Arda Guler is on the right flank with Vinicius Jr on the left and Kylian Mbappe leading the attack.
Real Madrid fans are unhappy with the decision to start the Englishman at right-back and posted:
Alvaro Arbeloa is looking forward to facing Bayern Munich, saying that his players will step up on the pitch. He believes that the Bernabeu will also be backing the players to do well on the pitch and said:
“A Madrid side that has always stood up to great rivals. Bayern are having an exceptional season. We know how much they’ll demand of us on the pitch. Our history with Bayern is always special. The Bernabéu is set for another great Champions League night.”
Bayern Munich’s last win over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League was back in 2012, when they lost the final to Chelsea.
Real Madrid manager paises Bayern Munch ahead of clash
Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa has heaped praise on Bayern Munich, saying that they are a well-trained side ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash. He said that the Bundesliga side will trouble his players and said:
“They’re a very, very well-drilled side; you can quickly see their hallmarks and their patterns of play. They’re a very aggressive team in defence, forcing you into situations where you see all the players dropping back tremendously. Kompany deserves every bit of praise he gets because he’s doing a tremendous job at Bayern Munich.”
However, he is confident that Kylian Mbappe and co will step up and said:
“The only thing that matters to me is what I think, and it’s an extraordinary stroke of luck to have a player like Mbappe in the team. I put myself in the shoes of the defenders who have to face Madrid.”
Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League when they met in the 2023/24 season.
