Watch: Sergio Garcia Damages Property at Augusta National After Poor Play at the Masters
Sergio Garcia has been going through a tough time at Augusta National Golf Course. As of this writing, the LIV Golfer is tied for 52nd place on the leaderboard with a total score of 7-over par. Garcia’s final round is already underway, and after the front nine holes, he has a score of 2-over par, with three bogeys and one birdie. During this time, he was even seen frustrated, as evidenced by his actions in the course.
Sergio Garcia reportedly broke down a tee box at Augusta National Golf Course following a bad drive on Hole 2. Not only that, but he later hit his driver on a cooler located just beside the fairway. The driver broke, and some dents on the cooler could be seen. NUCLR Golf reported this incident on X and shared the video with a comment that stated:
Thanks for the submission!
“🚨😠🏌️ #LIVID — Following a poor drive, LIV Golf star Sergio Garcia tore up the tee box and then proceeded to break his driver on a cooler 🫨”
Sergio Garcia has been in pretty average form this season, and he has even failed to perform consistently at LIV Golf. Garcia’s best performance on the Saudi-backed league came at the 2026 LIV Golf Hong Kong, where he finished tied for eighth place with a total score of 14-under par. This marked his only tournament this season where he has managed to make the top 10.
Sergio Garcia once said that Augusta National would be difficult

Augusta National is well-known as one of the most difficult golf courses to play on. The fairways of the course present fresh obstacles each season, and the breezes over the golf course frequently make it difficult for golfers to complete the course. Interestingly, Sergio Garcia brought up the same point during the post-round press conference on April 9.
Garcia stated that the golf course was challenging for golfers, and the conditions make matters worse, which is why the Masters is such a prestigious championship in the golf world. According to ASAP Sports, he stated:
“It’s tough, but this is the way we want Augusta to play. Don’t get me wrong. This the way it’s meant to be played. It’s not meant to be easy. You know, obviously, Augusta is always difficult with the wind because it just switches constantly, and you have to be so precise with every single shot you hit that it makes it even more difficult. Then, when the greens get fast and firm like they are now, it’s just a test, but it’s the way it’s supposed to play.”
Garcia nearly made the cut in this year’s Masters, as he had a total score of 3-over par after 36 holes, one shot less than the cut.
