Wack 100 thinks Drake’s “ICEMAN” album is not going to sell more than 175K-250K units in the first week if he does not include a “banger” single

Wack 100 recently speculated that ICEMAN, Drake’s highly anticipated forthcoming album, would not sell more than 175,000 to 250,000 units in the first week if the LP did not include a “banger” single. For those uninformed, Drake has been teasing ICEMAN since 2025, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the new project, which does not have a release date as of this article.

During The Adam & Wack Show on March 22, 2026, Adam22 and Wack 100 discussed Drake’s upcoming album and speculated about the first-week sales. While Adam22 said he expected the album to sell at least 400K units the first week, Wack set his expectation low, saying ICEMAN might only sell 175K to 250K units. However, he said if Drake released a “banger” single, the sales might increase to 300K-350K.

Wack also expanded on his reasoning behind the numbers and referenced Drake’s dispute with his record label, Universal Music Group, suggesting that he would not have bots to boost album sales.

“I give it 175 to 250K…if he comes with a banger single, I’d give him 300-350K… If he don’t come with a banger single, I give it 175 to 250K… Have you factored in the politics of him and the label? Ain’t no more of them bots… From what I know, eliminating that factor, you gonna lose 25%… I’m not taking nothing from Drake. Drake is still Drake. I believe he’s still the top steamer. Drizzy is still Drizzy. He lost a little battle with Kendrick. That has nothing to do with who he is overall as an artist,” Wack 100 said.

Adam22 wondered if Drake might try the Taylor Swift method of releasing multiple albums and vinyl variants, suggesting that ICEMAN‘s release is taking so long because Drake and his team were working on vinyls and merch bundles. He further added that if Drake went this route, his potential first-week sales could never be replicated in hip-hop again.

Wack said that Drake “definitely needs to think outside the box” when it came to UMG, because he might not have the record label’s full support. The two hosts also discussed Kendrick Lamar’s first-week sales for his latest album GNX, which came out in 2024 and sold 319,000 units.

Adam22 claimed that if Lamar could do 319K, then Drake could easily cross the 400K mark. They also spoke about the sale of Drake’s 2025 Valentine’s Day album with PartyNextDoor, titled $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, which sold approximately 246K in its first week.

Wack100 claimed the joint album did not sell over 250K units and seemingly suggested that Drake’s new album might perform similarly. Meanwhile, Adam22 countered this, saying that while he listened to $ome $exy $ongs 4 U a couple of times in the first week, he would listen to ICEMAN over 10-12 times in the first week if Drake released an album with hit records and features where he was “rapping his a** off.”

Drake released three livestreamed episodes for ICEMAN

Drake’s rollout for ICEMAN took a turn from the usual album rollout after the rapper decided to utilize livestreaming for promotion. So far, Drake has released three episodes for ICEMAN, which featured him creating a storyline around the album while previewing new songs.

During a November 2025 interview with Complex, Drake explained why he decided to choose the livestreaming format for the album rollout, saying that he was “dying for a challenge” and had grown to dislike the “redundancy of this formulaic approach that’s engrained in our brains from early label days. Single, video, single, video, album cover post.”

“I just would study IRL streams vs. the stagnant ‘bedroom cam’ streams, and I feel like IRL just had so much unpredictable energy and movement. And we just started asking crazy questions like: How high can the quality get? How many cameras can we get to go live at once? 12? 13? 14? Can we get a drone shot to go live? We just started getting unhinged with the requests because we wanted to push it as far as possible,” he added.

Elsewhere in the interview, Drake addressed the technicalities behind the livestreams and his recent rollout, saying they were not as “simple” as people thought.

“I think the biggest misconception is how simple people think this is. When you try to do something new or different, people can be overly critical before really understanding what it takes. The goal with this project was to be creative and innovative—to experiment in a way that might spark others to think differently about how music can be released or experienced,” he said.

The first episode of ICEMAN premiered on July 4, 2025, followed by the second episode on July 25 and the third on September 5. In the Complex interview, Drake teased fans that the series had a fourth and final episode, calling it “our best work.”
