Travis Hunter’s wife Leanna revisits “young, dumb & broke” days with emotional high school-to-NFL throwback
The Jacksonville Jaguars star, Travis Hunter, and his wife, Leanna, met when they were only teenagers. Although the two met most unexpectedly, they fell in love quickly and have been together since. Thus, to re-live their carefree dating days, Leanna shared an adorable throwback image of herself and a young Hunter.
She described herself and her husband as being “young, dumb, high school kids,” like Khalid’s famous song ‘Young Dumb & Broke.’

Hunter and Leanna started dating each other in February 2022, with the NFL star revealing that he shot his shot on Instagram.

When the Jacksonville Jaguars star was playing for the Colorado Buffaloes in his final year of college football, Leanna shared her and Hunter’s wedding plans.
In a GRWM-style TikTok video, she confessed that she initially wanted to elope with Travis.
“I actually wanted to elope and just do it small and just do like my parents and grandparents and that’s it. And then Travis told me that we’re only gonna get married one time let’s do it big,” Lenee said. [2:06]
“He’s like, ‘every girl wants a wedding whether they say or not,’ which is true but I just didn’t care about all of that I just wanted to get married. I don’t care to have a huge wedding. But he was like, ‘if we’re gonna do it, let’s do it big.’ So initially, I just wanted to elope but we decided that we’re gonna do big.”
She also revealed that she did not want children out of wedlock and that, for her, having children before tying the knot was “controversial” in her mind.
Travis Hunter and Leanna got married in May 025 and welcomed their first child, a son, in August 2025.
