“They were using and abusing him” – Pat McAfee seemingly done with WWE; veteran shares thoughts on his recent comment
A veteran shared his thoughts on Pat McAfee, seemingly confirming he was done with WWE for the time being. McAfee noted that the company was in a good place without him on social media earlier this week.
Speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, Jonathan Coachman claimed that the promotion was “using and abusing” Pat McAfee by having WWE stars appear on his show all the time. He also noted that the company never gives announcers a high salary and suggested that they didn’t pay for the production costs of his show when they asked him to travel.
Thanks for the submission!
“I’ll be very transparent and real with you, I think they were using and abusing him, and what I mean by that is they were throwing anybody and everybody on his show. Like, if they needed to promote something, let’s go on Pat McAfee. Because he has the top-rated show in America during the day. And I also have some inside information that they would go on the road and they would not offer to do this, or this, or this. Vince (Russo), the least that you can do is pay production costs. That is the least you can do, but they also have never paid announcers a big salary,” said Jonathan Coachman.

Pat McAfee comments on his WWE absence
Pat McAfee responded to a fan on social media and addressed his WWE absence.
The former NFL punter took to Instagram to respond to a wrestling fan and suggested that the business had passed him by. McAfee added that he was honored to be a part of it but felt like the business was doing fine without him.
“I don’t think you say never you know especially with WWE. But right now it does not feel like it is something that’s you know supposed to happen. Feels like that business has kind of passed me by a little bit. Grew up loving it, dreamed to work in it. Feel honoured that I had the opportunity to work alongside the GOAT Michael Cole but I feel like the biz is in a good spot without me. Now continue to watch,” he said.
It will be interesting to see if Pat McAfee ever returns to the company down the line.
