“The king is back” – Regian Eersel promises explosive ending to Rungrawee world title showdown at The Inner Circle
Reigning ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion Regian Eersel of Suriname is ready to reclaim the throne he once occupied.
‘The Immortal’ will gun for two-sport glory when he meets Rungrawee ‘Legatron’ Sitsongpeenong for the vacant ONE lightweight kickboxing world title.
This five-round strikefest headlines The Inner Circle on Friday, April 10, live in Asia primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Eersel knows the path back to supremacy won’t be easy, especially with a Thai veteran blocking his way. ‘Legatron’ is a respected figure in Thai circles, known for his high in-ring IQ and formidable kicking repertoire.
Still, Eersel is confident in his own ballistic weapons and thrives in being doubted time and time again.
The Sityodtong Amsterdam affiliate said in his pre-event interview with ONE Championship:
“I think a lot of fighters underestimate me a little bit. They see a tall, skinny guy and think he cannot punch that hard or kick that hard. Then the moment they feel it, I see the frustration in their eyes, like, ‘What is this? I didn’t expect this.’ It’s going to be very explosive, and you’re going to watch me reclaim my kickboxing title back. Then I’m going to say: the king is back.”

Regian Eersel expecting grueling war against Rungrawee
Regian Eersel knows Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong won’t make things easy.
The Thai veteran wants to join the promotion’s distinguished group of world champions and will bring his A-game in the biggest fight of his career.
That said, Eersel is gearing up for five rounds of high-wire action.
‘The Immortal’ told ONE in the same interview:
“I anticipate everything. Leg kicks, calf kicks, kicks on my right leg because he stands southpaw, kicks on the inside leg. So I’m training for everything. I think he’s going to kick a lot. I think he’s going to use a mix — one punch, one kick, two punches, one kick, two kicks, stuff like that.”
